Great experience for my wife’s 30th birthday. Great place for large groups if you come Saturday lunch. Note Point Loma has a larger menu than what’s on the website and what is at the Adams avenue location. Prices just as good. There was 12 of us and after calling in a couple days ahead, Trevor made sure all was setup when we got there. Reserved signs, tables set, all ready to go. Tried a ton of the food: + Dirty fries. Looks like a hot mess but tastes like an delicious artery clogger — Pizza Knots. Too much dough, not enough cheese + Meatballs. Hen and Grain were our top choices. Hog was the least favorite. + Dessert specials. My wife and her twin loved the Lemon Pound Cake and the 2nd special. + Mac & Cheese. Devoured. We had a minor issue with the dessert timing but Trevor was quick to comp us for our troubles. Really appreciated that. Also shout out to Godfrey that made sure all food came out quickly and accurately. Loved the Adams Avenue location and only great things to say about this one. Highly recommend.

A really great addition to Liberty Station and one of the few places you can have some great food and drinks late night. Food: meatballs, meatballs, meatballs… It’s probably what they are known for and they are delicious. Several varieties to choose from, my fav is probably the bahn mi. You can get any of the meatballs as a slider, sub, or on their own. Don’t forget about their burgers though. Seriously legit. Lots of sides to choose from. I recommend the fries and Brussels sprouts. Drinks: Craft cocktails and rotating draft beers. Atmosphere: They did a really great job of renovating the space. Open and chill with a classic but modern design. A great place to meet with friends for lunch, dinner, or late night. Indoor seating and outside patio with a fire pit.

****This was disgusting!!!*** So very under welming, we literally went to another place to eat after eating here. These food was mediocre at best! Service was good. Environment was nice. Location looked good. But, this place reviews was sooo WRONG! Out of everything we ate, the Brussels sprouts was the best, which was not saying the much! The fries where disgusting, they look like someone threw up on them ONIT! it had NOFLAVOR. The salad was literally ALLAPPLES! for $ 8! Way over priced! The sliders were unimpressive, could not believe I paid $ 50! What a waste!

I went to Soda & Swine for the first time about a week ago. When I walk in I already really liked the set up. TV’s, Beer, Wine, Super Long Foosball Table… etc. The menu was a little confusing at first, but I got it down now. Lol! The food taste great! They have Healthy food and really unhealthy food. So have at it! Go check it out it’s worth it.

Had the go-to pork slider with Mac and cheese with the roasted egg. Everything was delicious. Also a nice variety of bottled soda. Surpassed my expectations.

Great spot for a burger. 5 times better than Slaters. I always get their regular meatball burger with bacon and cheese. It’s sooo good! Burgers — always delicious Fries — must have, make sure to get the aioli Meatballs a la cart — all of them are great and all of the sauces are quite interesting. One of my favorite sandys I make is with swine meatballs with tomato sauce and mozzarella on a toasted sub. It’s damn good. Oh and if course they have awesome brews on tap. One last thing, get the Carmel apple pie a la mode. DANK. Check it out. Get drunk too.

LOVETHISNEWLOCATION. I have had some major issues with the original location due to ridiculous wait times(2 hours for a slider and fries) and burnt Brussels Sprouts, so I was definitely hesitant about visiting this location. However, all my doubts quickly disappeared upon my first visit. This location is SOSPACIOUS. Located right next to con pane, they’ve got a huge indoor and outdoor seating area. I love sitting outside near the tables with flames in the middle. Come early to ensure that there’s no wait line. Both times, I had dinner around 6 and there was only one person in front of me in line. I absolutely love the spaghetti with the hen meatballs. The sub sandwich is also a great option! The hen(chicken) and bovine(beef) are my two favorite meatball flavors. However you really can’t go wrong either way. There are many different ways to mix and match depending on your hunger level! Save room for sides though! The smashed potatoes have goat cheese in them and they’re creamy goodness. The fries are also delicious. They come with a garlic aioli. The BF and I have made this menu item a must during each visit! I haven’t tried it yet but they have homemade pies. They look and smell delicious. Overall, if you’re looking to come to soda and swine, there’s no doubt in my mind that you should come to this location. Service is fast and quality is perfection!

This is in Liberty station and it is great location it took over tin fish. We ordered the truffle fries, spaghetti with 3 meatballs and the sub with 2 meatballs, the only think I wish I did was ordered something else besides the pasta, I felt it was overcooked, and for my fries they gave me all the ends… I asked them to switch it and they did do it so thank you for that, the food is great though, I feel they just had a hiccup on this day, I will still come back, I had a chicken, pork, and beef meatball.

The manager Trevor is awesome! He anticipated my needs and totally took care to make sure I was happy when I sent back my pasta. He quickly offered an exchange by saying what else would you like to enjoy today? I like that attitude– very pro. He also comped us a piece of their famous Caramel apple pecan pie with a side of homemade Ice crème and whipped Crème. Yum! We always go to the Adams Abe location but this new place is really cool with outdoor patio dining with fire tables and a fireplace inside as well

Having been to the original location, my husband and I were excited to see that they opened a new location in Point Loma that was also dog friendly. We went close to opening time during the week and it wasn’t crowded at all. There wasn’t a line and it didn’t take too long to get our food after we ordered. We decided to get drinks as well, so that took a little longer than I expected at the bar(since no one else was there), but the drinks were strong and good. For food, we had the bovine and swine sliders. I accidentally ordered The Swine instead of The Hog… so I guess we’ll need to come back again to try The Hog. The Swine was pretty smoky(because it is smoked pork) and The Bovine was good but these didn’t really compare to the original location. I thought the fries were just as good though and the mac & cheese w/bacon wasn’t too cheesy for me(but I love cheese). What we did like is that it was easy to find parking and it is dog friendly, so that’s definitely a plus. But, we were expecting better food, so that’s why I’m only giving 4 stars. I’d recommend checking out Soda & Swine, but if there’s a line, I’d probably come back another time.

I came here on a Saturday around 3pm and it’s located in a quaint neighborhood that feels like a mission, yet there’s a variety of shops around. I did struggle to locate the restaurant at first, but it’s located behind Ace Hardware on a corner. Upon entering, there’s a hip and rustic vibe from this place already. We were also immediately greeted by the waiters and they were so helpful with our choices when looking at the menu. For two, we decided to share the Swine slider($ 3.50) and Special of the Day slider($ 3.50), which was Buffalo for the day. We also added a side of broccolini($ 4) for some healthy greens and a Bubble Up Lemon Lime Float($ 4). You immediately get your soda pop from the counter as they pop it open for you. Then you get the ice cream from the bar behind you after ordering. It was a lovely mixture between the creamy texture and sizzling bubbles with just the right amount of sweetness. There’s many flavors of soda pop to choose from as well, but we stuck to something classic. Our food was brought to us soon enough and it came with such beautiful presentation. The parmesan-topped broccolini was a small order, but very fresh and good placed inside a mini pan/skillet. As for the sliders, both were heavy and full of flavor. The bleu cheese was a bit overwhelming for the Buffalo, but I still really enjoyed it. For a slider, it did take me a couple bites to finish. I’ve never been a huge fan of meatballs, so this was a winner in my book. They even have a bunch of fooseball tables to play with and the outdoor seating is a nice touch. This is such a great spot for good food and good vibes.

Came here on a Sunday. Pretty low key out in Point Loma they have TVs on the NFL games and it’s cool. The first thing is that this place is more spacious than the other location in north park. But, nevertheless it is still a fact there is order first, so no table service unless you go to the sit at the bar. Supposedly this place has more gin than anywhere in sd according the bartender. Not sure about this claim. The bartender took forever and the place had no one there at 2pm. We had flagged him down to order and he gave the nod. After he went in the back to smoke presumably, he came back 15 minutes later and by that time we had made the decision to finally order in the front. Also the bakery LOOKS legit, when asking for a pie that they had on the blackboard, they told us it wouldn’t be ready for 5 hours. So why did you have it on the menu? The food was good but definitely plan on spending more than you plan on spending seeing everything is a la carte. Chicken meatballs were my favorite. Fries are not as good as they make them sound.

10.1.15: Most recent time was in October. I really like the atmosphere of this place. I don’t like the long ordering lines. It was quite annoying that we were in line for about 45 minutes because there was only one cashier. Oddly enough when we got closer to the front of the line another person decides to use the other register. Hmmm? Why didn’t they do that earlier? The wood and garden look make this place feels very quaint. I love the plants making it’s way up the walls. Some days they will retract the roof and let some more light in or just the nice breeze for night time. I really like the idea that you can get different meatballs. I had no idea at all. For some reason I though we got to get the same kind, but you sure don’t. I don’t really think this place is worth it if there’s a long wait. Although the meatballs were nice and soft and juicy that was just about it. I didn’t really care for the sauce. The sauces we tried were the Marinara, Mushroom, BBQ and the Pesto. The Pesto was the best but best as in the best one out of the four but not the best Pesto I ever had. The meats were the Beef, Chicken, Chorizo and Pork. Yeah we shared and tasted each others dish as well as getting a mix of everything. So you’re probably thinking why the four stars? Well that’s just my recent visit. I have came here before and I really do like their sides and their infamous dirty fries. So So So GOOD! Will have to come again and maybe ask for the sauce on the sides. That way I can get just the flavor of the meatballs only and not mixed in with other sauces. Great atmosphere and great way to get into Polite Provisions if there’s a line next door. Enjoy!

You know, this is a new location, but I REALLY like it! GREATFOREVENTS: I threw an event here and my contacts Trevor and Nate and the whole crew were great. They offer a fair price for a reserved section of their restaurant for great food and craft cocktails. I felt treated well from beginning to end. HIGHLIGHTS: The Drinks– These are the same guys who do ‘Polite Provisions’ so even though Soda is in their name, it’s not just rare and unique sodas, they have(which they do have). They have a long list of great craft cocktails and they specialize in Negronis. We did an alcohol education & tasting at our event and it was great. I like history and learning too. The Food– They gave us some great food and I can vouch for the: mac n cheese garlic cheese knots(the right amount of crunchy and the right amount of soft!) dirty fries(what do they do to these things?! so good! Like Poutine, but BETTER!) salad(they did a great job rounding out the menu with their salad — they customized this for us at our event) The Service– Every person I met there from bartender to chef to cashier etc… was NICE. Not only were they accommodating to ALL of my requests — they even saved my cooler that I accidentally left there — and when I went to pick it up, I wasn’t treated like a bother, I felt I was treated like a friend. The Ambiance– It’s a cool place to chill. It’s got a comfy and roomy bar seating area. They have a huge foosball recreation area. Their outside tables with the fire were PERFECTION for my group. 5 stars 5 stars 5 stars Enjoy!

New favorite spot to hangout! The décor was very aesthetically pleasing. I loved every detail. If you’re looking for a good, mean craft cocktail, come here. Service here is awesome! The bartenders really care if you’re satisfied with your drinks. So much they tossed a carefully crafted cocktail of ours because we didn’t look as satisfied as they wanted us to be. Wow. Their menu is pretty simple. There’s meatballs(prepared many ways), sides, soda pop, & pie for dessert. That’s it! I tried their Banh Mi Meatballs a la carte. Three meatballs may not seem like much, but it was pretty filling. Their Fries with malt vinegar aioli made for a perfect side. We had to order it again the 2nd time we came here. Their prices for food is also very affordable! Heads up! They have AWESOME drinks so careful… you may leave more drunk than you had planned.

I’d say this new location is a solid 3.5 stars, but the disconnect of price to service bothers me enough to round down. The North Park location works with the fast casual ordering style b/c it’s small, so the food seems more like a snack. But this location is so big, it’s def a dinner spot. If I’m spending $ 20/person, dare I say, I want to be waited on… We spent $ 40 for a sub, three sliders, «dirty» fries, and two soft drinks(including a tip). While the sliders were good and worth their $ 3.50, the dirty fries were disappointing. The fries were too crispy/dry and the dish had way too much gravy to overcompensate for that. Oh and, while our fires were topped with«peppers,» I’m 98% sure they were bell peppers not jalapeños. They had no heat whatsoever. However, my main gripe is the iced tea. It was so watered down it tasted like water with a splash of tea. I flagged down an employee to inquire if I just got a bad cup or something. She said many people have that same complaint, but that’s just how they make it. She was nice and brought me a fresh cup of it, which was slightly better. Overall: the atmosphere is super hip, albeit too hip for Liberty Station; the sliders are good; the ice tea needs help; and the prices are high for fast casual! It’s a-ok, but I’ll prob stick to the NP location in the future.

This is my second time visit Soda & Swine but first time to the liberty station location. I love the decorations of this restaurant! I would love to bring this style home with me! Compared to another location on Adams Ave, this location is much better designed and larger to accommodate more customers. This location consists of a full bar, a continuous football table, a dessert making area, outdoor seating, and tablets all around the restaurant. I like how it’s designed to fit different groups customers. Very smart design! Overall, they have the same operation style, which means you order food at their cashier and bring a number to your table. They will bring the food to you once it’s done. I am a fan of this simpler style so you can seat anywhere and able to have a large party without the pain of splitting bills. For the food, I had The Swine and The Hog sliders. I had to say that I am not a fan of their sliders. This was my second time trying it and they are just not my favorites. The Swine slider was pretty good with their chipotle BBQ sauce but the meatball was kinda dry. The bun was too much so the slider got really dry half way through. Also, it was very salty. The Hog was very similar to The Swine so it was my fault that I ordered both. But, I actually enjoyed The Hog more because the meatball wasn’t as dry. Overall, I just didn’t like them. I wish I got the spaghetti with meatballs. Personally, I would give their slider about 3 stars at the most. For side dishes, their fries were so-so, again came back cold, soft, which indicated that wasn’t brought out immediately. Their vinegar aioli was pretty good dipping but I was disappointed that they don’t have ketchup… The dirty fries was actually better than the first time I tried. The sauce and toppings were better prepared and fries were crispy even with the sauce. Interestingly, my favorite dish of the night was their spiced crispy chickpeas. Out of all items, I found this side dish the most interesting. I love how it’s fried and crispy outside. The seasoning was very good but slightly too salty. Despite that, I love this item because it’s different. For their sodas, I love the butterscotch root beer! It’s so special and really awesome root beer. I really like the selections of their soda. I highly recommend to try couple of them. It seems that I didn’t really like their food so why do they deserve a 4-star rating? For their food alone, I would give a 3-star. However, based on the dinning experience, I would give a 3.5 star. Personally, dinning is more than just food. I love the ambiance and décor of this place that I had to give a 4-star. I am likely to come back and try something else until I like their food.

First and foremost, San Diego has been consistently one of my favorite cities to dine-in… My love and I booked a room at The Pearl Hotel and were planning on joining the Wednesday Movie-Night fun after agreeing to visit Soda & Swine for some snacks. According to the Unilocal photos, the food looked like that quintessential comfort food that we were confident we needed on Thanksgiving Day Eve. I loved the permanent décor, very large open floor plan in the dining area and large heavy fixtures for furniture. However, I did not appreciate the amount of faux-plants, including an excessive amount of «ivy» strung upon their ceiling. When you enter the establishment, you order at the front desk and then seat yourself. We ordered: –Dirty Fries that included pork belly and then another meat of your choice(we went with chicken meatballs) –Mac n cheese –Broccolini We found an array of great places to sit and ended with one looking directly upon the extravagant bar. Food I was deeply disappointed to say the least, all three of our dishes appeared to have been sitting under a «red lamp» for quite some time and I say this because: –the fries were extremely dried up, not even a crunchy kind of dry, more like a stale old dry and extremely over salted. The pork belly was not served as a precious fatty strip of piggy but instead like a bunch of over-cooked bacon bits on top of a salad. HOWEVER, the meatballs were yummy, too bad there was only a small amount. –the mac n cheese had a sort of hard cheese shell outside and the inside was mushy dry. There was no sign of a warm ooey-gooey béchamel sauce folded into macaroni ever existing here. –the Broccolini was enjoyable, it was crunchy and seasoned well, definitely my favorite of the three options. The best part about this average-food-experience was the reactions from our server. When we were asked about our food, we stated that the fries were salty and the mac n cheese was dry, he just opened his eyes really big, dropped his jaw and then walked away to another table — never to return! Hahaha, we got a kick out of this because it was clear we must’ve made him feel slightly uncomfortable. The explanation for the poor quality food, I’m not sure. Maybe the restaurant was waiting for a night rush that never arrived and ended up serving food-not-so-fresh. Unfortunate — at least the beers were great! Luckily, we were in a good mood and just decided to take über back to our hotel.

This place is huuuuge! I love this location for its ample parking and seating, which makes coming in with a group a million times easier than their other spot on Adams. The décor is top notch and only adds to the intimacy of the ambience despite the vast space it occupies. They have a turf runway leading you up to the entrance and counter where you’ll place your order. The rest of the building is lined with detailed brick and stonework, and the seating options you’ll find are just as unique and intricate as the other CH establishments. There are plenty of seats at the bar, some long tables for larger parties, smaller booths, and of course, the massive glass foosball table which spans the length of a wall. We’ve come both in the afternoon as well as after a Chargers pre-season game on a Saturday night and even though it’s busy, it’s never been packed and we’ve had no issues with finding a place to sit. As for drinks, they have both beer and cocktails. Prices run slightly higher than Polite Provisions, but along the lines of their other restaurants. The menu here is the same as the original Soda & Swine, but I find the food to be just a tad bit different. I think I like the food from the original S&S better because the consistency here still needs some work. Our favorites are still the hen and hog sliders and the mac & cheese(add bacon – it’s delicious!) but they don’t taste quite as good as the other spot. All in all, a great addition to Liberty Station and a good place for tasty food and drinks with ample parking.

Hubby and I were back in San Diego, except this time we had our 18yr old son with us. Found this place thru Unilocal. Was looking for a fun spot, but low key that my son would enjoy(he gets very annoyed at restaurants that the bar patrons are Very loud & drunk). We ubered over at about 8:30pm and its located in Liberty Station(Wow, how this place has changed for the better over the years). Its in a quiet corner away from it all. So, if looking to bar hop, this isn’t the place. Looking for a chill evening with a date or a few friends, this is the place. When you step in, you place your order for food and drinks at the register and then they bring out your food & drinks to you. The concept is pick a flavor of meatball and get it on a slider, sub, skillet or spaghetti. That’s it. Hmmmm, this was new for me. Drinks? They had some cool soda selections. Vanilla Cream, Cherry Coke, Root beer, you name it. My son stuck with Coke. Dad went thru several different types of beer, before he found one he liked. I wanted Red Wine; however, they were out of their Cabernet & Pinot. So, I settled on Grenache, and it was very good. Food? Dirty Fries-Holy moly. You pick what kind of meatballs you want on top and we added the chicken & chorizo. There was so much stuff on this, I didn’t know what I was eating. It was a bit much. The 3 of us shared and it was huge. I thought this was Ok. Too much on top. Roasted Brussel Sprouts-Fish sauce & bacon. WHAT?! That’s awesome. I loved this. My son & hubby didn’t. BOOO. No matter, more for me. Bovine Meatballs in a Skillet-Simple and I liked it. After those fries, I didn’t need a bunch more carbs, so I loved that it was just meatballs w/cheese on top in a skillet. Ambiance? This was my FAVORITE part. The lighting is dim, but the décor is hip. Stools were kind of funky to sit on, but they had a huge long table of 4 foosball tables combined into one. We attempted to eat at this table, but the knobs got in the way, so we shifted. They also have an outside patio with a cool flame table. It was busy, but not packed. The crowd was great. EXACTLY, what I was looking for. Bonus, attempted to play an intense game of Foosball against my husband. I was crushing him 10 – 1, when we switched sides and realized the table leans amongst other issues. So not the most accurate of foosball tables, but fun nevertheless(I heard other people jump in and play a few games). Finally, I have to give them kudos on one extra point that made this place a HUGE hit for my son. Restaurant played quite a bit of Childish Gambino. My poor husband has no idea who they are, while my son sang along to every song. So, mission accomplished finding a perfect spot w/my son.
