Juliana is not only an incredible teacher but a mentor as well. She puts you at ease, but at the same time, pushes your limits! At her studio you are in your own comfort zone. She will also make song recommendations for your vocal range.

Simply said, Juliana is amazing. I started seeing her for voice lessons a few years ago. I maybe had a 3 octave range at best and my breathing was completely off. With her expertise, guidance and technical knowledge, in a matter of a month, I pushed my range to nearly 5 octaves, sing songs I never thought possible and even more so, I was able to sing these songs publicly! She has given me the confidence and the knowledge to pursue the possibilities of my voice. I look forward to every single lesson.

Juliana Snapper is absolutely the best instructor I’ve had for anything — not just for voice and not just for music, and I’ve been fortunate to have some excellent instructors. She is one of the most knowledgeable people in the world on the human voice and singing and demonstrates that every lesson. I’ve studied with her for about 9 months now and have clearly only scratched the surface of what she knows.
I came to her with some experience in singing. I had been in a band at one time and had studied voice for a couple of years with another instructor. (Unknown to me, she had also studied with Juliana and she was an excellent teacher in her own right.)
In addition to being an expert in her field, Juliana will work with you on whatever you want to work on. She does not confine students to a particular style.
If you desire to explore areas you’ve never tried, she’s a great resource for that as well. I came to her singing mostly rock of one kind or another. I’m now working on some opera and have done jazz, too.
She does not focus on the voice alone, she also teaches musicianship. It’s hard for me to describe what that means exactly but she’ll help you get the most out of your abilities and any piece you’re interested in. It involves phrasing, dynamics, tempo, and texture but there’s more to it than that.
Besides all that, Juliana’s teaching style is non-​judgmental, kind, enthusiastic, and generous. To put it simply, she’s a very nice person, very easy to work with. If you’ve had bad experiences with instructors before, give her a try.

I’m a singer songwriter who has been performing solo and in bands for the past 17 years. I’d never taken voice lessons and wanted to become stronger singer and better understand my voice as an instrument. Juliana helped me do this. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable. I left sessions feeling much more confident with what I had learned. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the studio itself was somewhat small and cluttered, but the overall experience was still tremendous.

I have been taking voice lessons with Juliana for a few months now. She is a great teacher and a lovely woman. I very much enjoy my lessons with her and look forward to going each week. After a lesson with Juliana I feel newly refreshed and inspired. The exercises she gives me help so much and I notice a huge difference in the quality of my voice when I practice them. I’ve been studying with Juliana Snapper for almost a whole year now, so it’s about time I wrote her the raving (ly awesome) review she deserves!
For some background, I’d been an armchair/​car/​shower singer with an occasional choral participation, but extremely shy since childhood. More recently that shyness has been easing and I’ve been performing as a soloist with my synagogue, and I’m pursuing changing to a cantorial career. I was looking to take my lifetime of raw, hodgepodge singing into a honed skill, to have more control over my sound, to expand my range, and to learn how to sing properly.
I’ll just start by saying that in the almost-​year since I’ve been working with Juliana, my congregation has noticed and commented on the dramatic improvement. They always send my teacher their highest regards, though they have never met her.
Juliana has taught me how to manage my stress levels, how to identify when tension is limiting the freedom of my voice, how to sing in my high register (with which I was never very comfortable before), and how to breathe properly for singing.
She’s an efficient and colorful teacher, who seems to know exactly how to describe the sometimes very abstract things you need to do to be breathing and singing properly. She has coached me through letting my head hang until my neck tension releases and you can hear the difference in the sound I produce.
Whether you take a 1-​hour or 30-​minute (like me) lesson with Juliana, every minute is worth it. I can’t recommend her more highly, it is simply not possible. I would describe her coaching as life– and career-​changing for me.
