BARRIO… A little shady looking from the outside but once you get comfortable try the carne asada burrito or rolled tacos. This restaurant will challenge Mi Rancho Taco Shop as the Big Dog in Barrio Logan for authentic Mexican fast food.

This place is always busy. I’ve been coming here for a few years. I’ve ordered rolled tacos, burritos, tacos and salad. Today, my coworker ordered the five rolled with lettuce, cheese and guacamole. The guacamole is the real stuff too, not the liquidy green stuff you get elsewhere. Every time we come here, that’s all she orders. Tip for the rolled tacos — they don’t give you lettuce when you order three rolled tacos. You have to ask for it. I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. It’s actually grilled chicken with a side of salad. Tip for the salad — if you don’t want fresh cut onions, tell them. The place is clean. The woman who takes the order is nice. Definitely worth visiting and trying out.

Best taco shop ever, I’m a regular. The surf and turf is my fave, you get a free soda with its purchase. They have great salsas too! Highly recommend this place above all the other taco shops in the area.

Love this place. I haven’t gone to another taco shop for carne asada fries because hands down, they have the best ones. Cheap and good

A great little hole-in-the-wall in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego. Food is priced reasonably and you get a lot of it. Tasty and filling. The horchata comes from the soda fountain and is delicious! Service is very friendly and parking is easy on the street. Great hidden gem!

A just by chance experience while visiting San Diego we hit a great spot. Local joint where the ambiance is like being at home; lots of characters. Love it. The food was also great. Highly recommend this lugar. Es como mi casa. Full of life and great flavors.

Good breakfast burrito. Prices are fair too. I would give another star but it was really slow and the place is pretty dirty. Clean it up a bit and you have winner!

Wow mexican food in San Diego is trash lol, even when u to to the ghetto part of San Diego you will not find good mexican food. We went to tacos el gordo first and it tastes so bad we threw it away and came here. The place better but not by much. We go a carne asada taco and egg cheese and potato taco. Nothing special but better than the overly hyped gordos place.

I come here sometimes before work or during my lunch break for great Mexican food. I love their California burritos, the carne asada is always cooked perfectly! They accommodate the burritos just the way I like them and the prices are cheap! I’ve been introducing my coworkers to this little joint and they are pleased as well.

Not a bad spot to get decent mexican food if your on the go, or just want a late night snack. Good portions of food prices aren’t to bad.

Super hungry on a budget? Night feast after a few drinks? Or simply loving authentic good Mexican food? Here you want to buy it for eat in or take away if you want to keep it simple. The menu offers all Mexican food and the staff is friendly. It’s more quantity than quality, but for the price it’s totally fine. It’s great for a late night snack drive-by-pick-up and enjoy at home in front of the teli without breaking the bank!!!

Having lived in a Border town for 15 years, I have had some good Mexican food and street tacos. Now that I live in Coronado… not so much. Found Rolando’s just across the bridge and I am smitten. The quality of meat is so much better than the rest… no fat, or yucky grizzle. I would pay a lot more for their food but that it is cheap too! Bingo! I could care less where it is located or if it looks«divey.» It is just fine and nothing is going to happen to you there as reported by a few others. Lighten up people! Super good find.

Minutes from down town, but a world away from what you’re used to. Solid, hearty food that’s amazing for the price. This isn’t your typical taco shop in some gentrified section of a San Diego neighborhood. This is real food, that people eat because it comes fast, is made well and hits the spot. The interior is a colorful throwback to trips south I’ve made in the past, the cashier and cooks friendly like the parents of childhood friends, and the drinks diabeticly sweet. Don’t be nervous about the nieghborhood, nor anything else. Drive a little and savor a lot.

I am scared! Scared of a lot of things about this place. Going there by myself. Sitting at a table. Touching anything. I am not scared of the food. And that is why, I am giving this place in Barrio Logan 4 stars despite the… ummm…unsavoriness of the surroundings. After the zoo, the 4 of us were in deseperate need of good food. Husband said lets go to Quatros Milpas. Okay but as it iwas Labor Day, it was closed. He said I know another place. Best taco place in town. A little sketchy but the food is GREAT! And guess what? It was GREAT. Better than great. Hands down the best Carnitas and best Tortillas I have EVER had. The carnitas plate(HUGE with guac, pico, lettuce, HUGE flour tortilla, beans and rice) was only $ 6.95. And their red sauce? I could bathe my shoe in it and it would be delicious. The KIDS loved their rice and beans plate($ 1.95). Loved to the point where there was not one single speck left on their plates. Husband got the mini tacos plate($ 6.15) with 3 carnitas and 2 carne. We all left with full bellies and happy smiles. But we rushed to our car… didn’t want to be caught hanging aorund.
