Rivas is your typical little hole in the wall joint but I say that with the most affection possible. The staff are always polite and friendly. The food is good, I always end up with a chorizo burrito, which is just chorizo and egg. It’s cheap and good. The place is always clean as well!

Found this fun little place tucked into a random strip mall. If you have ever heard of Los Cuatro Milipas, then you know they have a line that goes out the door the second they open. Rivas, I would imagine, gets a lot of their business from people that don’t have time to wait in line for Milipas, and just run down a few doors and fill their bellys in this sleepy little restaurant. I got the Taquiza plate, which is probably the perfect thing to start with. It’s 4 small tacos with a selection of their meats(cabeza, asada, carnitas, and adobada). The meal also comes with a drink and a small dish of chips and salsa. I walked out of there for $ 7.86(the included a 50 cent charge for using my card) and was overall pretty satisfied. Nothing to go singing in the streets about, but certainly a place I’ll go back and visit again. I understand their breakfast burritos are pretty good sized. We’ll have to try that out next :)

I learned about this place from a friend who grew up on nearby Coronado Island. Now every time we visit the area, we’re sure to stop at Rivas for one thing: carne asada fries. I’ve been probably five times and have never once gotten anything else. Warning — you’ll feel really fat and gross after, but it’s totally worth it. Fries topped with steak, cheese, guac, sour cream, red sauce and green sauce! One order is enough for two people, unless you make it a goal to finish the mountain of food on your own. Make note that they charge $ 0.50 to use credit card, which is almost unheard of in this day and age, but only a minor inconvenience. Once you start stuffing yourself, you’ll forget all about the extra charge.

Good spot at fair prices but the $.50 credit card charge stinks… It should be waived for orders above $ 10 for sure!

I ate here once. I ordered a carne asada borrito. That’s all it took for me to never return. Worst food I ever had. Don’t waste your money. The inside is hideous, it wouldn’t kill them to update the paint job and get better tables with chairs. But the food was theworst part.

We went here for the reviews and I was greatly disappointed. I ordered two chicken enchiladas combo plate. The chips that came out were stale. The vegetables in the enchiladas especially the tomatoes tasted rotten. There was barely any chicken in the enchiladas. The rice that came with the combo seemed old. There were flies everywhere and it was super hot inside the restaurant. I know the food is cheap but the quality was bad. I definitely don’t understand where the high reviews came from.

If you want some good no frills Mexican food come here. It’s near Iron Fist which was even better because after a flight I was dying for some good nachos. Rivas Mexican Food definitely hit the spot. They were inexpensive and the carne asada nachos were bomb. I’d definitely go back here the next time I go to Iron Fist but I’ll go get tacos first then go to Iron Fist. Only makes sense to have tacos and beer.

Saw the sign that said $ 1.25 fish tacos… had to give it a try. I thought I was going to get a street size taco but got a legit full size fish taco… for $ 1.25 and it was delicious! Since then have had several things on the menu and all taste great. Very reasonable prices, large portions mean I will be back.

It’s my first time here but I have to give them 5 stars! The food was hot, fresh and delicious. The service was too good to be true. They made me a custom veggie burrito, and had some of the best customer service I’ve seen in a long time. The Baja style fish taco was awesome AND it was only $ 1.25. This is a new spot I’ll be visiting frequently.

This place is great! Just a drive down the bridge from Coronado, exit Cesar Chavez Parkway and get some good food! Large portions and really good Carne Asada. Friendly staff, and did I say large portions? The nachos and fries are meant to be shared. The salsa is good too, I like to mix red and green. Nice location, with a little parking lot so it is easy to get in and out. Easy access to hop back on the Coronado Bridge too.

The service is fast and the food very authentic and delicious. Time after time the food consistency is great. Mixing the flavors and spices of traditional Mexican food.

I’m never in this area. Like eevveerr but I was so hungry so I got off the freeway and was in the mood for a burrito. I ordered the California burrito but with polls asada instead. So good and the hot sauce is on point. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star is because the burrito is kind of small. Other then that everything else is good

My good friend Herumi B. told me I HAD to try Las Cuatro Milpas, but when we got there, one look at the long line made us depressed and angry. But we were still starving. And neither of us happened to have a smartphone. WHATDOWEDO? One plaza down, we found a taco place. Fish tacos? Ok, we can do that. STRAIGHTUPBESTFISHTACOS I’VEEVERHADSOFAR. and only 99 cents each. every day. None of that«Taco Tuesday» crap you usually have to wait for. 99 cents. every. damn. day. GO.
