I went to a La Jolla place and they said they could not fix my nose pad on my glasses without having the pad that was lost by Cost Co.
They replaced and even colored the place that discolored due to heat, 30 day guarantee too
Love the place.

A true life saver, Pro Mec was able to find frames for my lenses.
They always fix my dad’s glasses when he would seem to «break» them.
I highly recommend this company.

Cons: (1) very limited hours, technicians out for lunch from 12 – 1, which means if your going there on your lunch break you won’t get your services done.
(2) they added a nose bridge to my frame and now it doesn’t fit right, they can’t adjust it for me because their technicians are out. Told me to go somewhere else for the adjustment.
(3) pricey. $ 45 for adding nose bridge.
(4) sales person attempted the «oh there are scratches on your lens» sales pitch. I told her, and disputed her with counter evidence, or lack thereof, that my lens are brand new and there’s absolutely no scratch.
Summary: I won’t come back here, even though it’s a mom and pop local business that I would love to support.

This is my second time here. The staff is super friendly and lay back. Got my sunglasses fixed in 20 mins while I went to get a cup of coffee. I will be back if I ever break another one of my glasses again.

I have used Pro-​Mec on several occasions… For the new customer it’s helpful to understand that they do functional repairs. Now what does that mean?
They will get your glasses (frames, arms, temple curves, nose supports, bla-​bla-​bla) back to functional working order. The term functional is key. It means mechanically working properly vs. an aesthetically finished product that is a 100% match with the original frame design.
Let’s say a weld is needed to a metal frame; the weld will be made, polished correctly, yet that match to the existing metal may be off. See the point? Functionally useful, aesthetically not = to the original frame. One more example (that I think is typical); the temple arm breaks off the frame; they will be able to put it back on, but if your temple arm is spring loaded like many models, they will not be able to fix that part if its broken. If the arm just needs a screw, no problem, the arm with its spring-​loaded hinge will not be damaged and you will be back in business. Hence if your expectation is ‘exact match’ that will not occur.
So, for many the depend on their glasses a functional fix will do the trick. For those that have designer glasses and what to return them to the original look after the ‘break and fix’ — well that is not what Pro-​Mec does.
No matter they are the ‘blocking and tackling’ repair business that has been around a while. AND as a bonus — easy parking! And you can wait while your glasses are being repaired if you have time. Simple repairs may be a 10 – 15 min wait. Others may be an hour +.

This place was able to give my eye glass frames two new ear pieces, and thus UN-​DO the damage that LENSCRAFTERS DID (albeit, for free!). While I had to pay $ 45.00 for the price of having these new ear pieces put on, it only took a half-​hour for it to occur (unlike the HOUR it took for LENSCRAFTERS to destroy one ear piece!). I wish I had known of this place sooner!

NMCSD Optical Department gave me their card many many years ago. They have since repaired friends an families glasses. They do a wonderful job, fair prices.
If you have a favorite pair and you’re not ready to change… take them in, give up a tune up (repaired).

OK people: eye glass wearing people, that is. This is why I am a Unilocaler. To start with, I highly recommend. Now for the back story.
I woke up One morning recently, to find that I must’ve sleepwalked on my glasses the night before or dance. What is their totally destroyed. I finally got around to bring them in expecting the worst and hoping for the best.
two hours later and for the lesser of two projected prices they were. Fixed and fit tight and right.

This was a great find! They restored two pairs of almost un-​redeemable puppy-​chewed prescription glasses to like-​new condition.
I waited 30 minutes for one pair and came back the next day for the other pair. The price seemed fair, parking was easy, and I found a good coffee shop in the neighborhood.

Pro-​Mec repaired two different sets of glasses with different problems, and now they are working as good as new.

They are amazing! The really know what they are doing. Yes the place may not be decorated very nicely but it isn’t a boutique. They were super friendly and knowledgeable and were able to fix the glasses for $ 10 bucks! The original maker had quoted us $ 500 and having them gone for 3 weeks. Walked in and handed them over and only in 15 min got a call that they were ready! Definitely recommend them for any size repair. Thanks pro-​mec for working your magic!

I went here this week to get my glasses repaired. The décor looks like it hasn’t changed much since the 70’s, but for some reason I like that. Dropped my glasses off and picked them up the next day. Not only were they fixed, but they fit better and more comfortably than before. Worth the 15 bucks.

Didn’t care for the girl in reception area: Rude. Demanding. Over pricing up front. When service was complete it was on $ 50 to fix frame. Over all place is ok. Would be a better experience if you fired the «girl» in receptions for being a PITBULL up front. PS_​to the owner commenting on Unilocal «R E A L L Y». That’s how you respond. STUPID! Just STUPID!

Fixed my glasses while I waited. This is place is fair and the service is above average.

Son broke his frames below hinge, closer to the main frame. Pro-​Mec said they will try to fix it since it was a bad break and a bad location. I got a call about 2 days later and it was fixed! You can hardly tell, it was an excellent repair and you can hardly notice.. .I’m not saying you can’t tell, you can, but it’s a excellent job, smooth, glossy and the break seemed to be repaired solidly. In the front there is public street parking but there’s a short time limit to park. I was able to get in and out without going over parking limit. I do recommend them and my $ 35 repair was worth it. P. S., They do accept credit cards, just NOT American Express.

Lauren, has fantastic customer service skills! I opted to sit and wait for my glasses and I sort of observed how she was interacting with each person that came through the door. She treated each person well, as a person. Sounds simple, but good customer service is so hard to come by now.
I was so devastated when my boyfriend sat on my Chanel glasses and then tried to repair them. Wearing my now Chanel monocles, I went to Unilocal to search for an optometrist or an eyeglass repair store and found Pro Mec!
45 mins and $ 40 later they were able to take the extra temples from my Chanel sunglasses to repair my eyeglasses! Lauren was patient and knowledgable and if she wasn’t sure, she went back to ask Rocky the 25 year technician.
My eyeglasses are cuter than the original Thank you Pro Mec for doing quality work and having quality people like Lauren and Rocky here!

This is a geek’s go-​to spot (i.e. ME)! Haha! My glasses were loose fitting because one of the screws on my frame arm needed to be tightened. So I went to Lencrafters to get my glasses tightened FOR FREE and the moron at Lenscrafters broke the screw in half from my frame arm and tried to say the screw was already broken! They suggested I take my glasses to a repair shop. I was pissed! My glasses were out of commission for a while. Thankfully my fiancé took my glasses here for me and shared with me how great it was. The service was fast and the customer service was amazing! When my fiancé gave me my glasses my anger and frustration went away as soon as I put them on. Above all, it was very inexpensive. They took the half broken screw out of my frame arm and put a new one in and cleaned my glasses for only $ 15! I am so glad to have my glasses back they’re as good as new!
Oh, FYI this business only repairs anything dealing with your frames, not your lenses.
