Awe man so disappointed. We ordered three cupcakes. Chocolate with salted caramel, which was very dry and did not taste of salt or caramel. Chocolate on chocolate which I did not taste and the peanut butter one which just tasted like peanut butter with added sugar. We won’t be trying them again. They were fairly expensive for being over baked.

Well I have to say, I’m really happy I found this place! It’s a cute, little shop that offers some really yummy treats and drinks. I highly recommend it! The staff they are super friendly and they love chatting with the locals and they are very passionate about what their bakery has to offer. FYI. I LOVE some good chocolate and I must say I LOVE their Chocolate on Chocolate cupcake(not sure if I’m calling it by the right name but I’m sticking to it), well it belongs in Chocolate Heaven. What I love is that it’s not overly sweet and has such a rich chocolate flavor in the super moist cake and the chocolate buttercream. I didn’t eat it but I savored this cupcake and it’s beautiful thing Thank you guys for what you do everyday and for making my rainy SD week even better!

Upon entering we were received with hellos and great costumer service from two women. I ordered a custom cake for my daughter: a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and a dancing ballerina bear on top. They were so excited about the order that it made me excited too! It’s nice to see employees that care about their jobs. They didn’t have a picture of a bear, so I was nervous about the outcome. They showed me other animals they had done, so I knew it would come out just fine. My daughter loved the final design of the cake. However, she thought the sweetness and thickness of the frosting was overwhelming and avoided eating that part. I, on the other hand, really liked the frosting. The chocolate cake was moist and delicious. I’d go back for another cake, but if for my kid I’d ask for a different frosting. Four stars because I can’t do four and a half.

I really, really wanted to like this bakery. The store is super cute and chic. The ladies working here were so friendly and kind, but the pastries were below average(especially for the price). I used a groupon deal and purchased a sea salt caramel cupcake, chocolate cupcake and slice of pumpkin bread. They all looked gorgeous but everything was pretty dry. The cupcakes weren’t moist or rich in flavor. I ate them both and felt like I hadn’t satisfied my sweet tooth like I had hoped to. The slice of pumpkin bread was pretty good but it was really expensive! The three things totaled up to about $ 12 but I used the groupon I had to cover $ 10 worth. Overall, I’d like to give it another try because it seems that people enjoy their desserts but I’m not sure if I will. I think that baked goods like cupcakes really have to be moist and I was just very disappointed in the ones I had.

Very cute bakery on Garnet. They have a few tables and chairs set up outside so you can drink your coffee or eat your treat while people watching. I’ve tried a couple of their cupcakes, brownie, iced coffee & a cheesecake bar. They were nice enough to offer either almond milk or coconut milk for my iced coffee, which I loved! Onto desserts — I LOVE their brownies, and if I make brownies at home, I usually like them a little thin and chewy. The 2 I have had here were thick and cakey(With chocolate chips in this — nice!!) and I’ve really enjoyed them. And they are a pretty decent size, so I have had enough to attempt to «eat some later». Recently I tried their cheesecake bar, which was REALLY good. It was so pretty with chocolate shavings on top & a fresh blueberry. It was creamy and not dense… it was very easy to eat! the crust was really good too. Again, a good enough size to be a snack while I sat outside & drank my coffee. I’m looking forward to my next visit to see what I will try next!

So as a professional procrastinater I didn’t have much time to order a custom cake for my daughters 12th birthday. I got the idea from the short film«I lava you». I gave 1 picture to PB Bakery and it came out awesome! My daughter loved it! We had her birthday at a ceramic café(last minute of course) and strangers and kids would come up to the cake saying it looked amazing, asking where I got it from! The kids knew exactly where it was from. Jimmy and Arelhy were super friendly, accommodating and punctual(unlike some people :/)! They also have yummy looking cupcakes and tarts! We were running late(no fault of my own of course) so we couldn’t grab any :(. Coffee was on point! All the more reason to come back! :) Thanks again!

Cute little place in PB. I did not get the full cupcake experience here – I will admit, that is partly my fault. I was so looking forward to a cupcake. I decided to cheap out and grab like 5 cupcakes from the 50% off case(only a day old – they’ll be fine!) Usually, this is not a problem. Oh how wrong I was. So dry and stale. I’ve learned my lesson. I will buy fresh from now on. However, I don’t think it is really responsible to be selling your product if it sucks a day later. Maybe add to the label: «Old Crusty Cupcakes: 50% off». We ended up getting a simple breakfast sandwich while we were here. It was fine. Nothing to go crazy about.

After a fabulous brunch in Hillcrest it was time to hit the beach, well after my über healthy meal I wanted a treat. We came in here to take a break from walking and the nicest ladies were working. They took the time to tell us each selection. It was afternoon so a lot of them were low or out but I settled on a strawberry cupcake and then watched as the decorator was making a boobie cake for a party. It was really good work, I would use her for a fun cake. Good experience, cheerful staff and if I ever am in the area again I will stop in for a treat and hello. Really cute place, but really small. Front sidewalk seating to hang out and chill for a moment.

Stopped in for an Iced Tea. It was black tea brewed in house served unsweetened. It was exactly what I was looking for. The shop itself is really nice. The pastries in the display cases look delicious. And the service is friendly. I’ll be back when I have a sweet tooth!

What a great experience with PB Bakery! I had a custom cake made– chocolate on chocolate with a poker/card theme. WOW is all I have to say… The cake décor was AMaZING!!! the head baker went above and beyond my expectations. Not only did it look great, it tasted good too! Moist, chocolatey and not overly sweet. The shop is small but very clean! This cake is going to be hard to beat!

PB bakery is a great spot if you’re walking down Garnet and get the sudden urge for something sweet. They have a variety of sweet treats from cupcakes, cake pops, brownies, cookies and a whole menu board of coffee drinks. They serve quiche and sandwiches too if you want a meal. My sisters and I shared a cinnamon roll and brownie along with a few coffee drinks. They were nice enough to heat up the cinnamon roll for us:) The brownie was HUGE! It wasn’t a fudge brownie so it was just the way I like it. We sat on the patio and did some people watching until they closed. I gave it three stars because it was a little pricey. For 2 desserts and 2 coffees it was about $ 15 and they also ran out of bottled water. There aren’t that many dessert spots in PB so if you want a good selection I would suggest this spot:)

Placed my first order for mini cupcakes for a birthday celebration. Went to pick them up, was impressed with the shop and location. The atmosphere seemed relaxed and easy, with tables outside to chat or just people watch. I was greeted immediately upon entering, and when I said I was there to pick up the cupcakes they knew my name right away. The cupcakes were amazing, and created to perfection for the party. These cupcakes were light, and not smothered in icing. Customer service, product result, and price draws a five stars from me and the other nine party goers!

First, let me say that the customer service was wonderful from the girl who helped us. She was very patient with our questions and sweet. They have a beautiful glass mosaic/mural on the wall of their little patio area, and they do very well with the small space they have. Their cupcakes looked divine too, I loves the edible glitter! We got a couple mini cupcakes… perfect frosting, the cupcakes were good too. We did get a croissant that wasn’t as flaky as expected, but perhaps that’s just their style, or just the batch. We were, however, very disappointed with the coffee. We ordered a mocha and a latte, and neither of us could finish them. They were weak overall. We should have said something, but we had to leave and didn’t have time to wait, especially since it took a long time to make them in the first place. I do understand that they are new, so I do think they will get better with time. I look forward to trying them again down the road!

I was in love with the previous tenants here, Sugar & Scribe Bakery(Or the Irish Bakery, as I called them). I was so sad to see them leave, but happy when I heard another bakery was moving in. I stopped by, hoping to get cookies or the like, and found that there wasn’t much to choose from. The shop was rather empty. Cupcakes were something like $ 4+ which seemed high to me. Cookies prices seemed normal. I ended up getting some day-old items(50% off – good deal!), a couple cookies, and an iced chai latte. Unfortunately, there was only one person in the entire shop and it took her a loooong time to make the beverage(much to the dismay of my spouse who was waiting for me in the car with my dog.) I’m not blaming her, it’s just that there was no one else to help… she did seem kind of new, though. (The cup of small size chai was half ice and I finished it in just a couple swigs. My spouse saw it and called it «sample size». They need to get their prices in tune with their drink sizes. It was $ 3.45.) Halfway through our lengthy interaction, a couple more people returned to the shop – the owners. They were very friendly but proceeded to tell me, at length, about their cake decorating and how they can make anything. If the owners read this, please know that people coming in to buy a coffee and a cookie don’t care about buying cakes. I have never bought a custom cake in my life. Maybe save the extended speech for people who show interest in cake services. I was dying to get out of there and on my way. They explained that they also offered food, like sandwiches and stuff. The cupcakes were ok and the peanut butter cookies were tasty. The high-ish prices and not-quite-ideal service were what give this an average rating. But I think they are still new so they may need time to work out the kinks. I would give them another shot on another day!

Newly open bakery in Pacific Beach, right across the street from Red Velvet Hookah Lounge. This building is a blue color that can’t be missed. Parking is street parking(free on Sundays). I came by this little bakery with my husband this afternoon since we were in the area. When I walked in around 2 pm, the place was empty. I said hello to the chef/manager and told her that I was interested in purchasing some desserts. She made me feel a little awkward when I first came in, as she did not greet me and just kind of stared at me. But anyway, she showed me what desserts are left. She said that unfortunately most of their items are sold out because it is the weekend(that is understandable and I wouldn’t hold that against the bakery for this review). I ended up picking up 1 cupcake, 2 cookies and a hot drink. She seemed a bit disappointed, perhaps hoping I would order more. This is what I thought of the items we got: Chocolate cookie–($ 1.50 prior to tax) Because the chef/manager highly recommended these cookies(her words were«to die for»), I decided to get 2. These chocolate cookies were really good and I would recommend these as well. The cookies are soft and gooey with chocolate, marshmallow and flavors of peanut butter. This cookie truly was a decadent treat. Vanilla cupcake–($ 4.25 prior to tax) I decided to get a vanilla cupcake since I already picked the chocolate cookies(items that were available to purchase when I arrived was: oreo cupcake, chocolate peanut butter cupcake, strawberry cupcake, brownie, rice krispies, chocolate cookie). Although this cupcake looked really pretty and tasty, it fell flat in taste. The cupcake itself was moist but was tasteless. I really could not taste the vanilla. The real star of this cupcake was the buttercream frosting, which was really thick and sweet. Without the frosting, this cupcake would be pretty bland. But with the frosting being too rich, I had to get rid of a chunk of it. I would not get this cupcake again, especially being quite pricey. Hot chai tea–(16 oz drink $ 3.75 prior to tax, 12 oz $ 3.25 prior to tax) This chai tea had a nice vanilla flavor but a little too sweet. I really liked the cup that it came in. It has a real nice grip to it. The large chai drink I ordered(16 oz) was a nice size for sharing with my husband. — — — — — — — — — — — — (Total= $ 11.83 after tax) In the end, I give this place 3 stars because it is A-Okay.But it was a miss with the awkward moment I had with the chef/manager. And the prices for their cupcakes seem a little overly priced for something that was mediocre. I think if I ever came back here, I would probably stick with the cookies and maybe even get a brownie(I tried a sample of it and thought it tasted pretty standard). By the way, there is one unisex restroom in the back of the bakery(make sure to get the key). There is also 3 small tables(shaded) right outside the bakery, which I believe you can have your dog sit with you. There is also a bowl of water and a little basket of large dog bone treats right in front of this bakery(what a nice gesture). And the free WiFi was pretty fast when we were here.

I came looking for fresh baked scones, but there were none to be had accept for a variety of lovely looking cupcakes and cookies. I settled for the large walnut and cranberry cookies for under $ 2 each. The cookies were great. The amount of walnuts was just right because I encountered them in each bite. The cranberries were not as abundant, but that was okay, because that sweetness should only of been sparse and just enough to keep you wondering were the next burst of cranberries was going to hit. The cookie itself was large and moist throughout with a mild sweet flavor. It was not a crumbly cookie, but rather more moist and soft. Very good cookies. The make an mêlée of cupcakes with some dynamic flavors which I look forward in returning to try. Also, about them scones, the nice lady told be if you let them know ahead of time, they will surely makes some, especially if you plan to buy a large quantity, and that goes for desired flavored cupcakes and cakes. Love something sweet.

This is a 5 star review on customer service and for being incredibly nice. My husband wasn’t able to make it to an ultrasound appointment for our coming baby and the tech put the gender of the baby in an envelope for me. I brought the envelope to PB Bakery and they were SO excited to make a surprise cake for us to find out the baby’s gender together(pictures posted). They did this on super short notice… even let me come after hours to get it and it was so cute! They went way above and beyond on what I’d ordered just to be nice. It was a very pleasant experience and we treasure the moment!

The mosaic on the outside wall here is beyond gorgeous. I came by yesterday to check this spot out since it’s the place that Sugar and Scribe used to be(and I was a regular there). I had a red velvet cupcake which was a day old, but actually still really good. Not too sweet, with a slight fruity kick and a moist sponge — and 50% off to boot! My buddy had the brownie which was thin, chewy and and soft — not the crumby, cakey type you get some places. The lady who served us seemed pretty confused — maybe she’s new — so they could work a bit on customer service. Small thing, but asking for tap water shouldn’t prompt raised eyebrows and a decline. It’s a basic legal requirement that you have to provide tap water(it’s so much better for the environment and for people, than the awful plastic bottled abomination which I was told was the only option). Anyway we muddled through that and I I enjoyed my visit overall…
