The cashier was very helpful over all. However they did mess up with the bread. I wanted my sandwich on white bread and they gave put it on rye. The. White bread was stale, as for the meat was fresh and delicious and I love the coleslaw great service. The cashier went out of her way to provide 2 separate transactions when I used my Groupon however I spent over 30 bucks for two sandwiches. 20 for Groupon and $ 10 extra. Overpriced

Huge NY deli-style sandwiches. I got a corned beef on marble rye with deli mustard and swiss. No funky gnarly cuts of meat — every bite melted and tasted perfect. Crispy delicious pickles and a good selection of chips. Grab a can of Doc Brown’s and you’re good to go. ;) I’ll be back here for sure.

I was not particularly a big fan of the food. I had the corned beef sandwich and it was quite dry and bland. I felt like it lacked sauces and flavoring, there was only mayo. They included a very small potato salad, literally the size of a dipping sauce container. There was also a pickle, but I don’t like pickles. For $ 12, they definitely could have done a lot better. There was a lot of meat, but overall I could’ve made the sandwich with lunch meat from the grocery store.

Used a groupon and got the lunch special. The corned beef was great, not too fatty. The matzo ball soup was delish. The bread was dry and falling apart. I would come back again, but not at a busy time. The girl at the counter was veey flustered forgetting to give me an order number, taking my groupon and still trying to charge full price. The rest of the staff was very fast

I had the Chicago style dog today. Mustard. Diced onions/tomatoes, relish was served alongside, so good. Check in to Unilocal for the free soda fountain.

THISRESTAURANTSTOLEMYIDENTITYAND $ 500OFMYMONEY. I have visited them before, but on a day I did not visit them, I received a charge on my debit card from them for $ 486.23. Unsure who/what was responsible for the charge, I emailed the establishment to let them know it happened. The owner emailed me back and told me THEY were responsible for the charge, and even confirmed the last four digits of my card. He told me they had changed their point of sales and it was an error, and that they’d issue me a refund(they never did). There’s a few issues with that reasoning: 1) It’s illegal to store anyone’s card information, so even a glitch couldn’t result in this, especially on a day I didn’t visit them 2) They didn’t immediately cancel the transaction 3) My bank told me the transaction had been punched in manually(ya know, like if someone has your card information written down and punches it in). I am working with the bank to dispute the charge, but it is abundantly clear that someone on staff at Nosh has stolen my card information and money, and the manager knows about it and didn’t make it right. If morals aren’t enough to keep you away, at the very least PAYINCASH!!!

I come to this place for lunch at least once a week. Quality picks are The Boss, Empire State, and The Farm. The prices aren’t cheap, but if you want a cheap sandwich there’s a subway in the courthouse, or a grab-n-go in the One America Plaza Building. However, you really do get what you pay for. I would like to post a warning about eating here. Don’t order the full sandwich if you need to complete any work in the afternoon. You’re guaranteed to have a food coma. A delicious and satisfying food coma. You’ll tell yourself that you’ll only eat half, but you wont. You’ll eat the whole thing.

OMG this place is amazeballs. Great sandwiches all around and my friend Scott says it’s literally the best sandwich he’s ever had. Also when I told Jon I went there he said OMG I’m obsessed. Boom this place will rock your socks off!!!

Very tasty. I was staying at the W Hotel and wanted to find a place to eat breakfast that was relatively affordable since the food at the W was really expensive(as you would expect from a hotel restaurant). Nosh Delicatessan was perfect on both counts! I ordered a Greek Omelette and it was freshly made, fluffy, and filled with feta cheese, tomatoes, onion, and spinach. It was also nice that I could get ciabatta bread for my toast! Service was also very friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat something good, but not too expensive(which is difficult to find in this area!).

I love Nosh. I just wish they had better bread and were a little cheaper. I have had mixed experiences here. Sometimes they are friendly and efficient and get it right, sometimes they could care less that we are there. It is pretty close to work and it is currently in our rotation for lunch spots. Plus it is hard for me to find pastrami and corned beef in downtown San Diego. They typically give you a good portion of meat, which makes $ 14 for a sandwich ok, but the last time I visited, it was like half of what they normally put on it. Also, I plead every time I come, get different bread choices. Most of the options are sliced options(Rye, sour dough etc) and they only have one roll. An onion roll. I really want a Kaiser or any plain round roll. I’ll even settle for a round sour dough or a baguette. I have even resorted to buying my own bread someplace else and replacing it on my sandwich. Not to say that the sliced sour dough and rye aren’t ok, it’s what I have to make sue with, but how a wish for a roll.

I think it’s a little overpriced for a bowl of salad, although the salad by itself is fresh and Just made. The service and s super great and friendly. There’s not to much space on the patio, but it’s clean and bright. Parking might take some time, but in downtown everybody got used to it.

Not too shabby! This place makes some good sandwiches but HOTDAMN, it’s pricey! $ 45 plus for 3 sandwiches! They slice the meat fresh just for the sandwich you order. Cool concept. Also they pile the meat super high. Like damn can I get some more bread and veggies with my meat! I got a kick out it though! This place is a small mom and pop counter. Simple, no glitz and glamour. Just sandwiches.

The place is ok. I came here with my friend, we were craving matzo ball soup and decided give it a try, since DZ Akins a long drive from downtown. So when we come inside we saw an advertisement of lunch special for 11.95 $ plus tax, which include cup of soup, half sandwich, side, a pickle and drink. Not bad, right? I’ve got a matzo ball soup, which I absolutely loved!!! The turkey pastrami sandwich was ok, packaged meat, mediocre taste. Pickle was over ripe and cole slaw were drowning in a mayo… So next time I come there I definitely getting just a soup. About employees… Ehhh, where to start. The girl charged me 2 $ for adding slice of tomato and slice of onion to my half sandwich and she absolutely didn’t know anything about the food, could’t answer any basic question, even which kind of bread they have… Overall I would say go get the soup it’s was tasty

3.5 stars to low 4… I’ve been to Nosh many times now since I started working in downtown(almost a year of business) along with my other co-workers. I have always liked Nosh and raved about it being the best sandwich spot in downtown because they stack on the meat… most of the time the sandwiches are really good, I have only 1 bad experience here. I’ve gotten almost everything, and even tried getting the tongue but they didn’t have it. I love their pastrami and premium deli meats. The one bad experience I had was they forgot to remove the plastic around one of their salami and when I ate it the plastic ring came off and I noticed the plastic and the branding on the plastic. Of course I didn’t complain because Nosh is usually really good about this, it probably was an off day. Other times, their chicken rice soup is excellent. Taste just like chicken and rice and broth, nothing fancy. But recently now Nosh doesn’t accept credit cards, CASH only! I had an employee ask me if I had cash and that the credit card fees were killing them. I understand credit card fees are expensive, but have Nosh looked at other options for those fees? Instead of just gone cold turkey and accept only cash? Options: Put a minimum on the charges. Make a sign and put«Minimum transaction amount $ 15(or whatever) AND/OR put the fee on the customer«or 50 cent transaction fee will be charge» I’ve seen MANY places do that(even though they aren’t allow to) but this cuts the merchant fees. Another idea: get rid of that corporate bank merchant fee and go with Square– Square is catered to small businesses and have substantially lower fees than merchant fees at the bigger bank. Or even a 10% discount on cash purchases. See? There are other ways to overcome the credit card fees instead of just going cold turkey and doing cash only.(Who carries cash now and days? Especially every restaurant in downtown accepts cards) I mean, it’s not such a big deal but it’s such an inconvenience for many people who work in downtown and just want to grab a quick lunch(and not have to stop by the ATM first). Grapes and Hops here I come!

I came to the Nosh Delicatessan looking for a small lunch after spending the whole morning out in the water. This deli is located pretty close to the Santa Fe train and American plaza stations downtown. Even though they call themselves in Little Italy, I’d refute that by saying its way too close to broadway for that to be true. While there is a paid parking garage across the way, street parking will always be way cheaper if you’re looking to just drop in and grab lunch. During the weekdays around lunch time, I’d definitely think about calling ahead as all sandwich places downtown are packed for the office crowd. Nosh styles its self after the typical deli you’d see on the east coast with lots of different quality deli meats and stacked high sandwiches. You can buy sandwiches, soups, salads, breakfast and even just grab some deli meat to go. You are able to get half or full orders of sandwiches, the full ones get kind of pricey. Every sandwich here comes with a side of either potato or cucumber salad along with a kosher pickle. One problem I did notice here is that staff really lagged on taking people’s orders, the wait was really long even though the place was dead. Upon ordering my food, the cashier didn’t seem to know really what was on their sandwiches, this isn’t too cool. I ended up just ordering a basic half turkey sandwich since the cashier wasn’t too sure about their menu. The price came to around 8 bucks or so without a drink. They have outside seating here, which is nice place to eat lunch and watch the downtown activity take place. At every table they had a bottle of mustard( ) for your food. My sandwich( ) on whole wheat bread didn’t seem too special really, I expected a bit more quality. While the deli meat and cheese tasted alright, the bread just seemed un fresh and stale to me. I expected a bit more fresh tasting bread from this place, considering they specialize in sandwiches. Maybe that’s just how their whole wheat is. The veggies tasted pretty good and they weren’t too skimpy on the avocado, which cost an extra 75cents per sandwich. The potato salad( ) on the side was definitely a lot more better tasting than the sandwich. The potatoes had great soft texture and the sauce they used tasted really great. I don’t know what I was expecting from Nosh, to their credit I did order a basic sandwich instead of one of their specialties. I just didn’t care for the stale bread and they could have added a bit more meat to the sandwich considering that is what they are known for.

Located by the Stone Company Store and the Santa Fe Depot trolley stop, you’ll find the perfect New York deli. Nosh is great for lunch, and has a menu filled with sandwiches and salads. I like the tuna salad sandwich. Sandwiches come made to order, so make sure to add all the veggies and cheeses you want. Additionally, get the coleslaw — it’s really good. Nosh is a little on the pricey side(about $ 11 for a full sandwich and small side), but there is a Unilocal check-in offer for a free soda, so take advantage of that. Seating inside is inviting and features pictures of New York and black and white titled floors, but the patio is also perfect for people watching. You can also get black and white cookies here if you have a bit of a sweet tooth. Plus Nosh serves breakfast, so if you’re hankering for a bagel with lox, you can find that here too.

Nosh is one of my favorite places in Little Italy. They have amazing breakfast and lunch. The breakfast runs around $ 3-$ 10 and lunch runs around $ 5-$ 15. When I am too lazy to make breakfast I will call ahead or pop on over to grab a breakfast sandwich. The breakfast items come with a side either fruit or potatoes. For lunch you can grab soup($ 5 and up) or either a half sandwich($ 7 and up) or a full sandwich($ 10 and up). Sandwiches come with either coleslaw or potato salad. The sandwiches are filled with meat and half is plenty for me. I love the pastrami sandwich. It’s simple not a lot of toppers just meat, cheese and deli mustard. I also really like the matzah ball soup here. The staff is friendly and even better it is dog friendly!

The place has been really inconsistent in regards to service, but this review is based on my most recent visit. Service was friendly and my corned beef was above average. It was tender, fatty, and flavorful but sliced very thinly. I liked my selection of the challah bread since I like a softer bread for my sandwiches. The matzoh ball soup was not fatty and the ball was tender, but I would have appreciated a chewer texture. I’ve got to say that this is the best quality corned beef I’ve had in San Diego but that’s only because pickins are quite slim.

Picked up lunch to go. First time here, they’ve been open for about 9 months at his location. Reviews look solid, place looked intriguing however I work next door and no one has mentioned it, which is odd. Lot of foodies in my office. So, anyway went with the pastrami Reuben and a bag of chips. With tax, set back almost $ 15, which is a lot of money for lunch. Didn’t find the staff here overly friendly, rather neutral and a bit awkward, like they wanted to put forth an effort to be nice and cordial but didn’t know how(?). Got back to work and went to ‘work’ on my sandwich which was packed with pastrami! Yes! Grilled rye — good! Sauerkraut and 1000 Island dressing — alright! Really nice size sandwich and tasty. Two problems — I felt sick after I ate the sandwich. Hmmm, not good, something didn’t sit well in my stomach. Also, as good as it tasted, $ 12 or so for the sandwich is still low on the value meter. The ‘sick’ thing… I can give them another chance… also, would try something else. Value — hmmm, we’ll see maybe if I don’t get sick on the next visit I can justify $ 12 a sandwich. Better customer service would help also… maybe it’s not the same on the weekends(s). I’ll report back after a 2nd on a weekday visit

I’ve said it before and more than likely I’ll keep repeating myself but I’m just a sucker for deli sandwiches. For something so seemingly simple, I just love em and don’t know why. Well… I guess I kind of know why and Nosh Delicatessen kind of reminds me of why… so I guess I can try to explain why. So here it goes… First of all, for sandwiches, the bigger the better. If I’m going to have a sandwich, there better be a multitude of meat on there because when I’m hungry, I’ll eat like a madman and that sandwich better fill me up. So that’s a a major criteria that simply must be met. You know what? Nosh gets it done. They put a huge amount of meat in their sandwiches that can even make a guy like me happy. So much that it makes the sandwich look like it’s struggling to hold it together. You’re probably going to need some napkins because the massive size combined with the delicious mayo, mustard and whatever else they put on these things, it could get a bit messy. I bought«The Farm». See what I did there? Anyway, the thing was generously stacked with meat and slathered in mustard and mayo combined with onions squeezed between to slice of tasty rye bread. I went with a side of Coleslaw. The sandwich typically comes with turkey, corned beef and hard salami but they happily fulfilled my request to swap the salami out with pastrami. The sandwich didn’t stand a chance and I happily devoured that thing with absolutely no remorse. I never thought myself to be a coleslaw lover either but for whatever reason, I was really digging theirs. The girl working the counter was extremely polite, friendly, helpful and was always smiling. So in addition to being clean, there’s always that great service vibe going for this place. The only thing that would keep me from being here everyday is the fact that the sandwiches are $ 11-$ 12. Granted that those prices are definitely on the steeper side for a deli but the redeeming factor is that out of all the delis that I have been to, Nosh’s sandwiches literally outweigh the others. Simply put, they are massive compared to the rest. You definitely get what you pay for, I just wish I made the big bucks so that I could make these sandwiches an everyday thing.
