This is a fantastic deli! We asked Nellie’s to cater lunches for a 3-day event and they were extremely accommodating. We ordered 30 custom-made sandwiches each day — they prepared, labeled and packed the lunches to each person’s request, and had them ready for pick-up on time. Our sailing group loved the sandwiches, the chips(and the bonus chocolate chip cookies), and appreciated the generous fillings. I highly recommend this local, hospitable sandwich shop for catering for meetings/sailing trips, or simply for a quick lunch if you work nearby. Thank you Nellie’s Deli!

Went with a homie and tried the Hot Italian on a Roll and Super Sub Hot and neither of our subs were hot or toasted ATALL. This place doesn’t even have a grill or stove. They have microwaves and toasters. They have one person taking the orders and one person making sandwiches so it took forever and a day to get our food. Blah. Nothing special here so I would not recommend it.

LOVETHISPLACE! I work right down the road so I started going during my lunch breaks. The owner is the nicest guy and will always have a conversation with me! The first time I went in I couldn’t decide between 2 sandwiches so he combined them for me and it was delicious! Fav place in San Diego for great deli sandwiches :)

I was expecting the sandwhich to be better based on the reviews. I guess I went in with too high of exectations. The bread was good, but the sandwhich was ok. I gave it three stars because it was a small mom and pop shop and the owner was super friendly.

My friend and I came here for the first time, and I had a wonderful experience. Owners were so friendly and so kind. Sandwich was fantastic. I would definitely come back here for more sandwiches while I’m here in Point Loma!

I started coming to Nellie’s while I was a student at PLNU in 2000. I have never had a bad experience or sandwich. The tuna is AMAZING! Absolutely the best tuna I have ever had in my life. I also love the deviled eggs as a side item and they have a great soda selection(I tend to get a Stewart’s Root Beer). The owner is so incredibly sweet and loves to talk to his customers. The first time I ordered we had a very in depth conversation about tomatoes since I had ordered extra on my sandwich and he found that to be so unusual. After that he always remembered the extra tomatoes! I moved away from Point Loma to other areas of San Diego, but always tried to get down to the deli occasionally. When I moved away from San Diego completely, I was so sad to not be able to get Nellie’s regularly. Now if I go for a visit, I have to stop for my tuna sandwich!

This is a cute little deli tucked in a back after of Rosecrans. I had the veggie delight today and it was delicious! The family owned business takes pride in the food they prepare and serve. I will definitely go again! Their dish got is from 1130 – 1230 and parking can be a challenge at that time. They open at 10.

Phenomenal service, great prices, and solid extras like deviled eggs. I stop each time I’m in town working around Point Loma. The owner is very nice and I try to support mom and pop shops wherever I go.

We enjoyed some very tasty sandwiches here. I especially enjoyed the hot Italian sandwich. They also have these deviled eggs with jalapeños that went very quickly at our table.

Tasty sandwich’s and good service. Off the beaten path but worth the drive and parking«struggle». There are daily specials that come with a small bag of chips and a drink. Give this place a try and support local business!

Read about Nellies on Unilocal.Found pretty good reviews so I decided to try it. Seriously not disappointed. When you stop by try the number 12 that sandwich was huge. Found the staff to be hospitable and very quick to make the food. For about $ 8 got a ginormous sandwich chips and soda. The food was tasty and filling. When I come back to San Diego I’ll have to stop by there again. Good job!

GR8 small shop with BIG sandwiches! I decided on the Super Point Loma about $ 6(avacsdo, Turkey, ect.)… Mmmmm. Bread was soft and sandwich was flavor full!!! Love the small Mom & Pop shop feel to it. Prices are about good for the size. (InmyArnoldvoice) ILLB’Bek!

Best affordable sandwiches ever! Made with fresh ingredients and a lot of love! Best place for a college student looking for something cheap, quick, and really really good! Favorite hot sandwiches are the Chicken Pesto, Reuben, and the Tuna Sandwich on toasted sourdough. The owners are very nice and friendly! It’s a place I would want to bring a group of friends or family in the future!

My visit to Nellie’s Deli was a bit improvised, but I’m glad it’s where I landed. I was cruising down Rosecrans on my lunch break, when I popped open my old trusty Unilocal app. All I needed to see was deli, and I was in – hook, line and sinker. After glancing over the menu, I decided the Point Loman on sourdough would be my prey. This classic deli sandwich had turkey breast, avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato and onion. I snagged a bag of Dirty kettle cooked chips and I was good to go. The Point Loman really hit the spot. It was just the right size, and altogether with a bottle of water my total came to $ 7. The inside was cozy and peaceful. There was a huge map of the United States on the wall that I stared at for a good 5 minutes. I couldn’t stop staring at Texas thinking«I really need to visit this place one day». Anyways, I told Mark(guy who made my sandwich) that I would be back. I mean I have to support my fellow Marks. That’s part of the deal. It’s always nice to have a pleasant surprise, and that’s exactly what Nellie’s Deli was for me.
