I don’t usually write reviews… but after going to Sea Trader for the first time, I felt the need to share my experience in hopes that Sea Trader will take action to better their practices. After all, they are a local OB business and I want them to succeed. I ordered a breakfast sandwich. As I waited for my order, I just stood at the counter with patience. After 10 minutes, I finally got my sandwich with the least of enthusiasm from the guy behind the counter. First of all, the eggs were microwaved(gross), the sandwich was cold & bland, the cheese was the fake processed kind, sandwich did NOT come with the avocado that I ordered and paid extra for… and it was way overpriced for the quality that I received. $ 6.99 for THAT… I would’ve paid $ 2. C’mon Sea Trader.

I’ll spare you my rant on why I think wraps are stupid compared to bread for now, but their’s is delicious. Great sandwiches, really great beer selection, and not the most marked up liquor store prices you’ll find in the area.

I just got back from having a yummy BLT at Sea Trader. Lots and lots of bacon! I had mine on perfectly toasted wheat bread and added a little red onion. $ 6.00. Most sandwiches are $ 7.00. Staff is super nice. In addition to a really good craft beer selection and tasty sandwiches, they also have free coffee with deli purchase, and you can fill up your water bottles or Blur a Rhino propane out front. Grab a sandwich and a drink and head for the cliffs!

This place sucks. Their sandwiches suck, their overpriced booze sucks. They refused to honor the«free sandwich» I was supposed to get after having my sandwich card stamped the requisite amount of times. Just a bad business.

Way overpriced, do not go here just because your looking for a quick stop for 1 or 2 things. Drive down the street to any other location in the area. Staff is also rude, and doesn’t seem to care for not regular customers.

Divey Deli/quickie mart with perfect sandwiches for a day out. I used to go here all the time for lunch when I worked on Point Loma. It is a perfect neighborhood deli(which everyone should have!!!). If you don’t know where the nearest sandwich deli is to your house you should be put down. Great service, great sandwiches.

This place is without a doubt an amazing business. The staff is always so polite and helpful. Whether you are grabbing a sandwich before hitting the beach or grabbing some adult beverages it’s all so good. The beer selection is huge! The alcohol selection is huge! The wine selection is also great. The sandwiches are delicious and they use great products like Boar’s Head. They have just about everything you could need like an iPhone charger if yours breaks. Another addiction I have is hot beef jerky and the one here is sooo good!

I like the crazy variety of beer here… but check the sell by, because it may be expired by a year.

This place makes some of the best sandwiches around, and has some of the choicest beer selection to boot. Consistently good service, friendly employee’s. Ivan is a great guy and highly commendable. My parents actually used to get lunch at this same store 30 years ago. Thanks for keeping it going and improving it!!! Sincerely, a repeat customer!!!

Good selection of craft beer, great sandwiches, and friendly, knowledgable staff. That’s the trifecta for any liquor store in my opinion. Definitely stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.

:/… I miss Harry! I grew up in this neighborhood and on these sandwiches… I had fond memories of the surfer sandwich and was excited to see that the people in charge of the deli have brought it back! When we got our sandwiches we were disappointed to see that there was barely any meat in them. I’m not sayin load it up… but for $ 8 a sandwich you gotta put some more meat in there people! The cheese tasted kinda like refrigerator– I think they need to wrap it up better… Overall just an ok sandwich– such a bummer this place can’t pull it together sandwich wise– because their sandwiches used to be GREAT! Other than that, it’s a convenient liquor store(the only one in the area) with a good beer and booze selection– and the staff is nice!

Quality sandwich and pesto pasta salad. Not on par with the best sandwich I have had, but close. I will go back if in the area.

Wow! This place has really turned it around in the past month. The deli is now staffed with friendly sandwich ninjas that know how to make a killer sammie. They even have a new loyalty card, buy 6 and the 7ths free! Ca-ching. Jackpot! They remodeled the shop a bit and look to be adding more shelf space for craft beer, wine and liquor. As if they could fit anymore. You could spend hours in there checking out all the awesome craft beer and wine they stock. Hooray booze! I’m very excited to see how the Sea Trader will evolve in the next few weeks/months under the new owner!

Had a good experience the first time but not so much today. The guy that made my sandwich had zero personality and got home to find my order was wrong(it was not a busy time). I also noticed upon leaving that I was not given the happy hour discount. I may try again just for the convenience. Bring back the friendly blonde lady.

The deli has gone down hill and I’m going to give it up. The Surfer(in a pita) used to be twice as big as it has been lately but it’s still $ 7. Generally, the clerks have a don’t give a sh! t attitude. I will miss the Surfer but little else.

We decided to check out this place while checking out my friends new apartment next door. She’s pregnant, so she always wants something to snack on. I saw their sandwich board outside and figured I HAD to check this out. They have more hot sandwiches than cold ones, but it was warm out, so I figured I’d try a cold turkey with avocado on sourdough. I wasn’t as impressed as I had hoped. The sourdough was slightly stale and the avocado was more of that smashed packaged avocado. Egh, it wasn’t anything impressive, especially for 7 dollars. And when you make your own sandwich they charge you an extra dollar for cheese, wtf? This place does have a large assortment of craft beers though, and an awesome amount of cream soda and rootbeers. Not as into the food as I thought, but convenient for people that live in the area.

This store and deli have everything I would want and expect out of a deli/liquor store. Although it’s not fancied on porn, blunt wraps, glassware, cheap booze and beachwear, it’s a okay with me. They carry awesome sandwiches, good wine, beer and champagne, and ice cream. What more could ya want? Buy your own porn! Ooh and I was kidding, they have blunts duhhh!

I never thought I could find so much variety in such a small amount of space! From craft beers to hard liquor, this place has everything you could ask for! Even the deli is delicious and each sandwich is made to your appetite! The management is great as well. It’s a family run operation and the owner, who was there at the time, helped me find the perfect beer for me. I left there with a sour beer that was perfectly paired to my tasting. Definitely stop by at Sea Trader!

Very cool local convenience store. I used to live right up the street but now that i’m in point loma my visits are more seldom. everytime i’m @ the cliffs or down by Newport I always make it a point to come here. The food is great, the beer selection is awesome for such a small store. Make sure to check it out for a quick bite or a delicious microbrew Revised — I now live back in OB again. Back to bein my favorite local store. 15% off if you buy a sandwich and check-in!
