My favorite place when I have to cook dinner for the family!!!

The burrito was made fresh, which I liked. But the ham lunch meat instead of diced ham and the stale chips grossed me out.

THEYARENOTCLOSED!!! I hate that it says that. I was by there last night(1÷24÷13, getting Thai food at Kati Thai) and saw the owners inside with the«OPEN» sign flashing and the front door propped open. It doesn’t get any more«OPEN» than that! I absolutely love their salsa, chicken enchiladas and burritos. Their food is great and the service has always been amazing. Even if I haven’t been there in months the lady that runs the place not only remembers me, but she remembers my order. Their salsa has a GREAT kick to it. The burritos are nice and big. The best part about the chicken they put into their burritos is that they stew it. So it cooks and marinates the whole time. Mmmmm. The meat in the California burrito was tender and not chewy. I LOVE this place and the fact that IT’S STILLOPEN!!! :)

I wish I could have grown an extra stomach to try as much as I can on the menu. Carne Asada Burrito was great. I went around digging into my party’s food and everything was good. The service is the only thing holding me back from giving it five stars. It was okay but staff seemed uninterested with customers.

The carne asada meat is seasoned well. I recommend the«Monster Burrito» without lettuce and salsa. Pro: Cheap and good portions Con: They aren’t open late

Good carne flavor in the Cali burrito but the fries weren’t crispy enough. They also didn’t throw hot sauce in or ask if I wanted any… bummer. I’ll give them another shot one day when I’m home and just want a quick meal.

Maybe its cuz we can after a football game, just before they were closing, when a total of about 15 people showed up all at once… But I was not very satisfied with this place. The service did not feel very happy to have 15 new customers walk in, rather it felt like we ruined their day coming 30 mins prior to closing. You would think there would be come excitement seeing an additional $ 150+ walking into the store on an otherwise slow night. The food itself was ok though, it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it wasn’t bad at all. They were being very stingy with the sauce though, most of the pans had only a couple mm deep of sauce left, which meant scraping the pan for a minute just to fill up one sauce container. You would think they would refill it seeing so many people waiting in line trying to scrape up the rest of the sauce. With that said, the food was a 3.5, the service was a 2. Can’t say if I would want to come back here again or not. Plus the parking lot sucked, it was full with 20+ taxis as like a staging area or something.

DELICIOUS. Having just moved to San Diego, I was pretty excited to try out their Mexican food. We went to Mr. Burro because of the great reviews, plus it is super close to our apartment. I have lived in California for over 20 years and never experienced a «California» burrito. It was so good. French fries in a burrito? Who knew! Mr. Burro is a great whole in the wall taco shop. It’s clean, simple menu, and great food. I can’t wait to go back!

Mr Burro aint that grreat. Had the carne asada burrito which did nothing for me. I had to use 3 cups of hot sauce to give it flavoring. The meat was bland enough that all i can taste were the guacamole, salsa, and oil + the hot sauce for flavoring. Big burrito’s? I dont think so. Want a big carne asada burrito with flavor? go check out Colima’s taco shop on University ave. caddy corner to Albertsons. Thick burritos, with flavor, and I highly recommend the philly burrito or the carne asada burrito– it will fill you.

Great place to get some quick, cheap Mexican food. I always get the seafood burrito(forgot what its called), but it is HUGE. It has shrimp in it. You definitely get your money’s worth. And one time, I walked in and they were already closed for a little bit, but they let my friend and I order anyways which was nice of them, and satisfied my craving. It looks like a hole in the wall place, and I never see anybody eat there though.

Had some time to kill before the Monday Night Football game and decided to give this place a shot. When you first walk in you would not have a clue what kind of eatery it is. Nothing on the wall and pretty bleak inside. I ended up ordering the beef burrito which was very good. The beef was juicy and could taste the flavor. The prices were just right for a combo that came with rice and beans. I’m taking a star away because the salsa bar was simply 8 salsa selections with no labels or anything. I had no clue which was what and unfortunately had to do trial by error. I tasted one salsa and it was so watered down I had to toss it. Other than that, thumbs up on my end.

Some of the toughest, gristliest, overcookedest carne asada I’ve ever had. I remember this place being pretty decent, but this was my most disappointing lunch of the week.

Got a carnitas burrito here to go last week. Pretty tasty burrito, and each order comes with a little bag of chips, which is nice. But I got sick and missed two days of work due to the burrito deciding to wage war on my gastrointestinal tract. Wasn’t food poisoning(which is usually pretty quick onset), but it made me sick and queasy later in the day, and cleaned out my plumbing. Would I go back? probably not, out of fear for a repeat assault on my gut. hazardous to my intestinal bacteria or not, the carnitas were pretty tasty.

Falling off just a little bit. They are still very good but I’m concerned that lack of patronage is getting to them. Still well worth your time if you are in the mood for inexpensive Mexican food.

Good Mexican cooked fresh with no frills. The spartanly-decorated locale is uninteresting and the tables are covered with Sancho Panza’s multi-colored poncho. Beyond this, there are no decorations. But the food… I ordered a deluxe California burrito which I am pretty sure weighted around two pounds. It was a lot of food, more like two meals. For $ 5.50! That’s good eatin’ right there. I will be back, it’s a good place for food in a few minutes that’s fresh and won’t kill you too much.

After watching two other Mexican places close in the same spot, Mr Burro was worth the wait. The food is cooked to order so make sure you have a few minutes to spare for your food to get ready. This is a minimally decorated place, so I recommend just getting your order to-go. Nothing dancing but the food is cheap and good! If you want quick food I recommend this place.

That’s what we needed. A place to grab some burritos on our way to the game. I’m happy to report… not bad. Not bad at all. Today’s menu consisted of a chicken cali burrito(no guac) and a quesadilla. While the quesadilla was standard Mexican faire with nothing to say both good or bad, the chicken cali was pretty darn tasty. Sure, it was a little on the dry side, but I’m sure that was because it looked mostly like white meat. It still had a nice taste to it and didn’t have a ton of oil leaking out of the bottom. It was pretty darn big and for $ 4 – 5 it damn well should be. To top it all off, the red sauce was perfect… spicy as heck. I’m saving that last star for some 5 star carne asada. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Third time’s the charm? First this place was Robertoe’s, then Mission Taco and now finally(or not) Mr Burro. Pretty damn good breakfast burrito, I must say. Breakfast burrito # 59 —
Yes, as I always say, I’ll be back to try the carne asada. They were rockin’ some old-school Mana( ) while I was there. I think I surprised the girl behind the counter because I knew the song. Before I left, I told the girl to tell Mister Burro that he has a really good breakfast burrito. She admitted that Mister Burro doesn’t exist. I told her that in my heart(or more appropriately, in my stomach) he does and that he’ll live on forever like a cached image on Google. I quickly left before the local authorities arrived. **Update on 10÷11÷09 — I tried their carne asada which was AWESOME! Even The Woman That I’m Currently Married To loved the two bites she had. Their beans are really good, too. Wow, I was not let down in any way with this burrito. Carne asada burrito(with beans and cheese only) # 60 — ***Updated Dec. 27, 2009: Mr. Burro does it again with a 4 Star pollo asado burrito. Tender pieces of breast meat make me a happy boy. The woman behind the counter enjoyed my stupid joke regarding me «mistaking» Mr. Burro for the nail salon next door. Silly me! Pollo asado burrito(with beans and cheese only) # 25 —
