I am surprised this place has such crappy reviews. I had a very different experience. We had a few hours to burn in the wee hours of the morning, so we scoped out this place for an early lunch. We got a pepperoni pizza for $ 7.99. This pizza was up there with some of the best I have had. I actually watched the girl make some and wanted more! The size of the pizza was actually closer to that of a Medium than a small pizza from your run-of-the-mill pizza place. The large drink was only $ 1.49. You cannot beat this price at an airport. I shall have to stop in this place again to try different foods. Do not always trust one or two other people’s opinions. :)

I got hungry while I was waiting for my flight home to Sacramento. Not a lot of restaurant selection at the airport and I did not want fast food. I bought a tuna sandwich on white bread(no wheat). The sandwich was made and ready to go… so I don’t know exactly how long the sandwich was sitting there. It was the most plain and dry tuna sandwich I ever had. I ate half of it and toss the other half in the trash.

$ 8.19 + tax for a panini. My turkey pepperjack panini wasn’t exactly crafted on the spot and then placed in the press — more like it was taken out of a fridge, warmed up, then put on the panini press. It was tasty, but not terribly large. Its main virtue was that it was hot, and I needed something warm to eat. It was bread, turkey slices and melted cheese, and the staff offers mustard and mayo packets. Monet’s California Deli has a case of pre-made cold sandwiches, and salads, and can apparently also do pizza and wraps. I think maybe the wraps are made to order. Does it seem that SAN’s restaurants gouge you more than other airports? maybe.
