I loved this place. The service was quick and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and healthy. I got the Sampler Platter, which had couscous, stuffed grape leaves, hummus, pita, and falafel. I had a pomegranate lemonade to drink and 3 mini cupcakes(chocolate, vanilla bean, and red velvet). My cheat day didn’t end up being a cheat day, because of how low calorie everything was! I will be visiting regularly.

Today is the last time I ever go to Luna Grill. I have always been reluctant to go here since the food is expensive for what it is, but I wanted something fast for lunch today. Of course I called ahead to save time, but had to wait on hold for 4 minutes just to place my order(I almost hung up in frustration before they took me off hold). Then I get there at the time they said my food would be ready(10 – 15 minutes), only to be told I had to wait in the long line even though I had a pick up order(an additional 10 minutes). The final straw? Right before it was my turn in line, another pick up order who hadn’t been waiting in line got to cut in front of me and pick up their order! Final conclusion: took me 30 minutes to get my food in addition to transit time to the location plus my food was already getting cold because of the long wait. If this is supposed to be a chain just one step up from fast food then hire enough staffing to handle the lunchtime rush(only 2 people working both registers while simultaneously picking up phone orders and sometimes even leaving to work the floor) and train your staff so they enforce consistent policies across your customers.

I have been going to this Luna Grill location since its opening and am finally writing a review. I have been in customer service for 35 years and I rarely encounter great service these days. Except, at Luna Grill. The Luna Grill employees are always friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way while you are dining to ensure that you are well take care of. Their food is consistently good and fresh and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a delicious and enjoyable dining experience.

The food is good, but I’ve done online ordering twice and both times I’ve had to wait over 15 minutes for my order. What’s the point in ordering ahead if it’s the same wait time? Not very convenient.

Found this place one Saturday night when my husband and I were at Liberty Station. Wonderful gyros meat. Came back with my daughter before she flew back to Texas-close to the airport-had the house salad-it was great.

I’ve been coming here for quite a while now, and will say that there were definitely some growing pains when it was a newer location. I dealt with some food quality and server issues, and at one point was just not really thrilled to come here, despite its proximity to my work. I’m happy to say that the last couple of lunch visits have been aces– Really a well managed location, with top quality food prep and service. Whether eating in or to go, I’ve had quick and friendly service here recently, and appreciate the cleanliness of the fixtures, soda bar and tables as well. I would recommend the burger(!) despite the kabobbery going on here, as well as the excellent beef filet with rice. The standard gyros meat is tasty, but the beef cuts are really amazing, and quite lean. Not a big fan of the fries, but you can always substitute the outstanding saffron rice for them, and make your pile of meat a bit less guilt-inspiring. Good job servers and management– This location is doing it right, and is highly recommended!

Good food, good ambiance, excellent service. I love that they serve their kabobs with basmati rice unlike the other kabob place in the area this place is way better. I ordered the grilled sirloin and chicken kebab combo with roasted tomatoes and hummus with pita for appetizers. 5 stars on both! Combo options are great for indecisive people like me.

Food is delicious but this place is overstaffed and all of them are so lazy. It takes 15 min for a Togo kids meal. Update: every time I go to this place(EVERYFUCKINGLOCATION) everyone’s off doing something else(joking around and talking) besides tending to their customers. I place a Togo order and they specifically ask if I need silverware TWICE and I say YES and there was NO silverware. I go back and say«why do u guys ask if I need silverware if you guys don’t place it in there» he replies«we are suppose to ask you if you need silverware on your Togo order and when we give you your order» and I’m like«then where is the darn silverware?» Last time I am ever eating at this place with young and dumb workers.

I don’t often Unilocal chain restaurants bc chain restaurants aren’t typically something to write home about. I just eat there bc it’s convenient and sometimes a chain restaurant’s corporate menu provides just enough comfort and simplicity like we don’t need to eat on trend all the time. That being said I“m reviewing Luna Grill bc I feel like I wanted management to know how amazing customer service is at this location. Hiro S. and I often eat here after worship at the Rock and service is just bomb. The last last time we ate here I had a coupon for a free kabob or something, which was only valid in Mission Valley but the register girl gave it to me anyway. And last wkend when we ate here there were two girls floating around the dining area asking if they could get us more water, sauce, napkins like anything that was lacking at our table. I feel like I was eating at a real sit down restaurant! Lol! Bc you know usually when you eat at places where you order at the counter it’s mostly self serve. But Erika, and the other girl who was waiting on us that day were awesome. The guy at the table in front of ours was complaining that his salmon or something was fishy and one of the girls was like«Are you sure bc we grill our fish so it shouldn’t be fishy» lmao but the guy was like YEAH. Anyway I was just being nosy and overhearing them but she handled it perfectly. There’s not much to say about the food here except that it’s BOMB. I mean y’all know what it is. The salad dressing is amazing. The meat, esp the sirloin steak kabob is so juicy and tender. The rice, especially sprinkled with sumac is hella addicting. It’s the perfect Sunday meal. Get food for the soul at the Rock and food for your belly here!

After reading all the rave Unilocal reviews, I couldn’t wait any longer to give Luna Grill a try. Now, I’m not that anxious to return. Here’s why. I ordered the Signature Gyros plate($ 10.50). First impression: Wow !! It was a gorgeous presentation, and a nicely sized one, as well. A huge plate laden with beautiful Mediterranean food! For«fast casual» food, the presentation is stunning. Time to stop gawking and get busy with my fork! The gyros portion was generous, and the meat was pretty much average, considering the Greek restaurants I’ve visited. It was good, it wasn’t superior. The Basmati rice, while beautifully presented, was dry and tasteless. It looked good, but it literally sucked moisture out of my mouth as I ate it. As a counterpoint, the Basmati rice at Bandar caused me to salivate as I ate it. Yes, it was at a higher price point, but still… The salad(choice of tomato or carrots), was a mixed green selection, devoid of any detectable dressing, and it left a bitter taste. The tomato was a sliced tomato, badly in need of salt or dressing. It tasted almost fresh. The meal included an inadequate portion of Greek yogurt, but I think more was available upon request. In other words, going back up to the front counter, cutting in line and asking. Three of our party of four had rice as a component, and all three left ample rice on their plates, and two left the greens. Maybe the cook was having an off day. I was disappointed.

This is one of my favorite spots to eat with my toddler. They are so friendly and helpful. Nicer about a mom there alone with her littles than any other restaurant I’ve been too. I’m always happy when I go there, but this last time, Jess and her team went above and beyond their usual high standards of customer service, and the food was excellent as always. Get the salmon — you won’t be sorry!!!

Every time I go to Luna Grill, my brain reminds me that is a chain restaurant – just one step above fast food – but my brain is so wrong. The food is actually REALLY freaking good! The Israeli couscous salad with chicken is just delicious. Fresh and wonderful. I love it. Why don’t I make this at home? The chicken kebab is juicy and flavorful – so well cooked! Seriously! Even the rice is delicious. I love the roasted tomato that comes with the meat plate, too. The gyro meat is good, too, but the chicken rules. Don’t be fooled by the fact it’s a chain restaurant – the food is fresh and delicious. Every time I’ve eaten at a Luna Grill, I’ve been happy.

Big portions for the amount you pay for. You get your money’s worth. The gyro plate I ordered came with a salad and pita bread. The dipping sauce was similar to a ranch style taste. The amount of gyro meat was very generous. The plate itself was around $ 13 with a drink. It was fairly busy the day I ate here and it took about 20 minutes to get my food served to my table. My one knock on this place was the table I sat at was pretty filthy.

Very clean location with HUGE food portions. I ordered the gyros plate and was shocked by how large it was. The meal came with a greek salad, rice, pita, gyros meat and grilled tomatoes. I’m going to be honest, the tomatoes may have been one of my favorite parts of the meal. They were really good. Overall, this wasn’t the best greek food I’ve had in SD but it did satisfy my craving. The gyros meat was tasty, but the rice was a little plain. It didn’t have the flavor that I was looking for. Good for fast service, quality and portion though!

Generic Mediterranean eatery. Quick. Moderately priced. Friendly staff. Clean establishment. Very busy lunch location due to location of multiple high schools and navy bases in proximity to this address. Nothing blew my mind and the menu was pretty small and limiting to my palate preferences and dietary restrictions. I will say that the cilantro hummus was fresh and full of flavor. I would highly suggest this appetizer and would order it again.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that, up to this point in my life, this is the best Gyro I have ever had. I have eaten here a couple of times for lunch and it is consistently good. It is a sit-down fast food restaurant in which you order at the front and they give you a number and bring it to your table. I have had the same girl at the register a couple of times now and I have to say that I have never seen someone so into their job! She is super happy, super helpful and keeps the line moving right along. Now to the food. The gyro meat is SO flavorful and the slices aren’t too thick or too thin. The veggies they put on top are always crunchy and fresh and the tzaziki sauce is creamy and delicious. Also, they have AMAZING fries! DON’T order the fires to go, though! They end up a soggy, yucky mess in that to go box. Opt for the salad if you must leave the restaurant. The ambiance inside is nice and modern and they have TONS of outdoor seating available to really take advantage of all the gorgeous San Diego weather!
