They must import the yams straight from New Orleans. I’ve eaten various places in my lifetime from Chicago, Virginia Beach, Jacksonville, New Orleans and finally San Diego and I must never before have I ever been to a place that charges more for one particular side item even to the point that it’s not available with a combo option. I believe New Orleans natives would be offended to dine at Louisiana Fried Chicken and to learn that yams cost more than other traditional southern side items. As a New Orleans native I found it unbelievable. Also, the company has pictures of a navy member on the wall, but they don’t offer military discount. A company has a right to discount whomever they choose, but considering a larger majority of military members support the company would in return for service offer at the very min. 10% off. The chicken seem slightly burnt, but the peach cobbler was delicious. I think I’ll stick to the Desert from now on. I ordered mash potatoes with gravy, but they were completely out. A fried chicken establishment with higher than normal yam prices and a shortage of mash potatoes with gravy.

I am really picky with food especially soul food. I had the chicken wings with greens and yams. It was delicious! I will definitely be going back.

Chicken is delicious. Perfect amount of spice and crunch. So good with their hot sauce! I’ve never actually eaten here, only ordered to go, but they were quick with the order(I came during lunch hour too). Ordered an 8-pc chicken and also nuggets… they had to make the nuggets so everything took about 10 – 12 minutes. Order was fresh and smelled amazing in my car. Wish we had more of these in SD!

Best fried chicken ever! Ordered two 3 piece dark meat combos which each came with a drink, a side, and a choice of cornbread or roll and we ordered a sweet tea. The chicken was moist and crunchy. The staff was super friendly and offered condiments right away when our food was ready. Good fries, great mac and cheese. Overall, it was an awesome experience. Next time we’re going for the Chicken and Waffle combo! Told the boyfriend we should just order from here for next Thanksgiving or something ;D !!

My mouth just waters at the thought of their fried chicken. Shit is next level. Mashed potatoes and gravy so good. Mac n cheese is heaven!!! Little baby angels made it. I’ve had take out a couple of times and each time I was tearing. Dined in the restaurant last week an hour before closing. Staff was really sweet. Place was chill. No complaints. Fuego. Delicious. Need it forever. Ya’ll in my top 3 of southern food restaurants(Gladys Knights restaurant, Roscoes, Louisiana)

The chicken tenders were delish. Customer service was ok. I prefer the owner because she knows what she is doing. She was friendly. The mac and cheese was ok. Can’t complain about it.

First off, the chicken and waffles are fantastic. The restaurant itself is usually unkempt, especially the bathroom. The service is sad, as well. But the chicken and waffles can’t be beat. The chicken is cooked to perfection. It has a nice crispy crunch. And the waffle’s hot and ready for all that butter and maple syrup. I’d recommend taking your order to go but the truth is the sooner you eat the waffle(when it’s still hot) the better it is. Louisiana Fried Chicken is part of a small strip mall but it’s on the south end and I almost always find a parking space.

Absolutely love this place. I have tried many things off the menu and by far everything has met my expectations. The fried catfish is full of flavor and always fresh. The friend chicken is always moist and flavorful. The yams are sweet with a hint of spicy, the greens are tender and savory. My family enjoys visiting and even the staff know us by name.

Came here to pick up dinner to go. Hubby went in while daughter and I waited in the car while the air conditioning was running. Since we took food to go, I can only rate for food and not service. For a combo of three pieces of dark meat with one side, choice of bread and a drink cost $ 8.15. That is a pretty good deal. The drumsticks were tasty. Way better than KFC! The cornbread was tasty and hot. I had the mashed potatoes with gravy. Almost similar taste to KFC. The chicken had more flavor and was seasoned well. If you are craving chicken, check this place out. The place is located in Barrio Logan right off the 5 exit. It’s in a shopping center that has parking inside or on the street. Hubby said that the lady serving you the combo meal was nice. If you are craving some good chicken, come here. I highly recommend this place for take out.

I looooooove this place. The food and the service. Yes, it can get full but the wait is totally worth it. The music is always super funky which I like. I will continue going to eat here.

The cashier didn’t seem too happy. She wasn’t friendly! It was our first time trying this place and she FAILED to make our first visit welcoming. Our food didn’t take as long considering we were the only customers at the time. Now… the food IS good and worth going back for, but I’d second guess my return due to the atmosphere and vibe from the Staff. The one star is for the Cashier and I’d give it 3 – 4 Stars for the taste of the food. Chicken and Waffles was really worth it.

Food is great but The employees are terrible have terrible customer service my waffle was ready for legit 10 mins and the cashier was blind iguess cause she didn’t see it by the time igot it it was cold, the cook was too busy flirting with the other girl in the back to realize he was backed up 6 orders the only time to go here is while the owner is there otherwise they have a serious lack in work ethic.

Overpriced! Slow service! I can definitely tell this is SD because they do not do this southern staple justice. I was disappointed.

Cashiers suck at customer service. Waited at least an an hour and a half for 8 piece of chicken dirty rice and fries. Orders get mixed up easily then employees blame the customer for taking the wrong order. Nobody in the restaurant was happy with the service. Bottom line is this is a piss poor establishment and highly recommended to go down the street to church’s chicken or Popeyes hell even prefer Kfc over this place. Would never go back even if it was the last place on earth to eat. San Diego would be better off without this place. Just saying.

Visited this place on suggestion of a friend. Wanted something out of the ordinary and the the thought of fried chicken paired with a nice crisp waffle had my taste buds humming! The chicken was nicely flavored but has clearly been sitting under the heat lamp for SOME time. In fact, there was a LOT of chicken sitting under the heat lamp for at LEAST30+ minutes(the time I was in there). The waffle was NOT freshly made, as they claimed, when I asked if they served frozen waffles. It was a soggy mess. An EGGO waffle would be a vast improvement over what I was served. The whole experience was a great disappointment. It’s really a shame. I don’t know what my friend was thinking. This WASNOT soul food, nor southern cooking.

Chicken Strips and Waffle!!! Mouth Drools* So so so good! Out of the 5 times I have been here it’s been the same meal. I am not a chicken or waffle lover but they are so(Good dang) tasty! The waffle is so fluffy with their delicious butter and syrup! The strips are seasoned so well the flavors are rich ! I can’t wait to be back in San Diego for you baby!!!

Have been here a two other times but last time I had some bad chicken It tasted delicious… The flavor was great! But the ensuing food poisoning the next day made me never want to come back here … Granted it was a little bit after normal dinner hours and my friend didn’t get sick but for me it wasn’t pretty

So a friend of a friend reccomended this place to us and said we just HAD to try it. So we did. After perusing the menu for a minute or two I decided I wanted chicken strips and waffles with a cup of shrimp gumbo and a kiwi raspberry sweet tea to wash it all down. My other half decided upon fried chicken with a side of rice and beans. It seemed to take forever to get our food. So it finally arrives and I am missing a spoon for my gumbo and my «maple syrup». The gumbo had two shrimp, soggy sausage, and few bits of chicken with rice and a few veggies. Overall it did not excite my taste buds and even tho I only ordered a cup, so I wasn’t expecting much, but geeze this was a tiny cup :/The chicken strips and waffle were alright. Again, nothing super exciting. I should also mention that they advertise that their chicken and waffles are served with real maple syrup. But alas, it was not. If I had to guess I’d say it’s Aunt Jemima butter flavored syrup. Not even imitation maple syrup. Le sigh. I grabbed a bottle of kiwi raspberry sweet tea with a side of diabetes to wash it all down. I like sweet tea but holy sugar batman!!! This was almost undrinkable. In fact I ended up taking it home and diluting it with water. So the man had fried chicken that he seemed to like. The beans and rice were not what we expected at all! We all know how cheap beans and rice is. This was the tiniest side of beans and rice I have ever seen! Even smaller than my cup of gumbo. It was more like bean soup with a few grains of rice floating in the bottom. Pretty sad actually. And the flavor was bland. Unimpressive. Forgettable. You would think that being an establishment such as this would have bottles of hot sauce on every table. But no, all of the patrons have to share the few meagre choices that are left on a side counter. So if someone takes the hot sauce you want and doesn’t politely return it to the counter you are shit outta luck. Besides, who wants to get up to have to grab more hot sauce mid meal? Annoying to say the least. I like to visit an establishment at least a couple of times to get a good feel for the menu and what they have to offer. Unfortunately I am not interested in returning to try more tiny portions and bland food.

Quality fried chicken is hard to be had in San Diego and this place just moved to the top of my list! I had a hankering from some fried chicken and I’ve been meaning to try this place since I saw the ad in the City Beat. It’s in a strip mall with plenty of parking and located right off the 5. LFC is apparently a chain but they just have one location here in San Diego. I had the 3 piece with a side of red beans and rice. I asked what pieces were included and I was told that I had my choice! Score!!! We grabbed a seat and our order was on the table in about 10 minutes. The chicken was fantastic! The crust had a nice peppery spice to it penetrating a bit to the meat. The meat was perfectly cooked and extremely juicy. The red beans and rice was some of the best that I’ve had. The beans were well cooked and had pieces of sausage for added flavor. The cornbread was very flavorful and had just the right amount of crumble. My friend had the chicken and waffles and said its was fantastic as well. Overall, the best fried chicken in San Diego. I will be returning! Stay sexy fellow Unilocalers!
