Aloha Kona Coffee… how I’ve missed you from my past life living in the islands. My husband took me here on my birthday before a pediatric appointment for my son. It’s the best location if you can find a parking spot or simply take a stroll. In the middle of the concrete jungle lies a little slice of island heaven. With the tiki style palapas tables outside, the Hawaiian paintings, the sweet aroma of coconut coffee, and the sight of the baked goods it reminded me of Hawaii. I told the guy working it was my birthday at first and later he gave me a huge chocolate chip coffee cake. Sweet! I ordered the Hawaiian Mocha(it had toasted coconut shavings in it) and hubby got the Kona Mocha(Irish cream). They were both heavenly. We also got a little package of Madeline’s cookies. If you don’t mind the sirens it’s a great place to study, read, or sit outside and watch the city action go by. Can’t wait to taste more items on the menu when I’m nearby.

Really convenient. I came here today after yoga(It’s in the same complex as the Hillcrest 24 Hour Fitness) and they validate parking in the garage, which you can enter from 5th, 6th, or Washington. Service is super friendly and fast. Will definitely be back.

They validate your parking so that is cool! :) and I really have to agree with eveyone that their Aloha Mocha is a nice treat. I’m sitting here on their free wifi on their comfy couch, all cozy on a crisp Autumn day. this places is so chill I wish there was one in Little Italy near my work… I don’t hear much about this place and it’s been around for 7 years! I think it might be a hidden in plain site kind of place. If you’re looking for a good place to enjoy good coffee and work or relax, this might be it. Also, I saw their video advertisement for pesto and cream cheese bagel… seems like I might have to give that one a try!

11÷20÷15 at about 630 in the morning, I wanted coffee and a muffin, I asked the owner to wash her hands. Her reply was. «I’m not going to touch your muffin». What ever happened to washing your hands after each customer and handling money!!! This is not the first time, it also happened on Dec 8. Customer’s beware, what’s really on here dirty hands! Bottom line when a customer request you to wash your hands, you should do it!!!

We ended up here because the wait for Snooze was over an hour(at 8:30 am) and we were all so hungry. We ordered the egg and sausage croissant sandwich, Acai bowl and a blended Hawaiian Mocha. The sandwich was good, the Acai bowl was standard(I can tell they use the unsweetened Acai frozen packs and not the original blend so it was more tart), but the blended mocha was so good! If you like coconut flavor then order the Hawaiian Mocha.

Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops. The coffee is amazing. I had the dark roast and added some honey. The acai bowls are super good too and surprisingly cheaper than most places in that regard. The service is amazing also which is always a plus. I try to stop by whenever I can!

I thought I reviewed this place a while back. Apparently not, so I’ll catch up now. The drinks are ono for sure. The location, would be awesome if I worked in one of the medical buildings. However, since I do not. This location is totally a pain for me. It is at an extremely busy intersection, which makes it nearly impossible to do a quick stop just to grab Java. I was stoked to find this place originally, until I started to understand the nonstop business of the area. And by busy, I mean the traffic. Once actually parking and getting into the shop, it’s a pretty fast transaction. They do offer stamping for parking, if you park in the garage next to it. That does help, but still. It’s just too much of a hassle for me to make a habit of stopping in. Which is a shame because I love Kona. The prices are fair, I guess. I have never been to anywhere to get Kona, off island. So this is the only place I have been on the mainland. The staff has always been friendly, and there are a few tables and chairs both inside and outside of this small shop.

The Hawaiian Mocha is UNREAL, as well as the banana bread! Lots of great choices of unique coffee & tea, bakery items and products. Note: They validate parking!

I usually go to this place when I’m waiting for my reservations at snooze. I love getting their vanilla chai with soy iced. It’s not overly sweet but made so well. I only wish they put a little bit more ice cause my drink was warmed when I asked for it to be iced. Service can be improve. They just stared at us when we where we walked in and waited for us to order.

As far as coffee shops go it’s pretty dang cozy. I work right next door at Scripps Coastal Medical Center and I have to say, this place has been my GOTO coffee fix for 5 years now. They also make a pretty good breakfast sandwhich and when time doesn’t permit me to take my full 1 hour lunch, it is very convenient to run down here and grab a pre made sandwhich. There bakery items are pretty tasty. I usually get the zucchini bread slice which is always very yummy and hits the spot with coffee before work. The only problem is, once you settle in to the leather recliners, it’s super hard to get motivated to get up. Always has something to get through the day. Thanks Kona!

Cute little coffee shop on the corner. I stopped by here because I like Hawaiian coffee. I have been in this non-Starbucks run ever since I moved to San Diego and this is simply another great coffee establishment. I actually had the Green Tea Chai, which is sweet, but very pleasant. There’s that cinnamon taste of a regular chai with the slight hint of green tea which I love. This is a perfect shop for those who go to the 24hr fitness next door for an after-workout coffee. Overall, I liked the shop, the cashier was very friendly, the set-up was nice, coffee and tea for sale in bulk, etc. Only star I docked was because parking was a you-know-what.

Because the sunny San Diego weather got me craving for iced coffee! Kona Coffee doesn’t need soy/half and half/3 pumps of whatever sugar syrup to put in their coffee. It’s $ 2.50 for a satisfying cuppa joe. Sold.

Hawaiian coffee in Hillcrest — smooth and relaxed corner store, with a few chairs, and packed with Kona coffee. Beans, tea leafs, snacks… you name it. The coffee was great — I personally like the concept and wish they’d have that in San Francisco!

I’ve only been here twice, but both times I ordered the Hawaiian Mocha. It is so good! There’s a hint of banana and coconut, which might sound like a strange combination for coffee, but it really brings out the mocha and tastes very comforting. Also give their cream cheese and salmon bagel a try, with their jalapeño bagel. Yum :)

Shhhh don’t tell no one but I consider Kona Coffee my «Side-Guy»(See SideChick) and Peet’s being by main squeeze. Although I see Kona Coffee more often, kind of like a co-worker you’re bangin’. Kona is close and has easy access to me. My usual is the Kona medium drip… I get my card punched and I’m outty. Hit it and quit it, that’s the nice thing about this place.

Holy deliciousness, Batman! The reviews are right. The Hawaiian Mocha is AMAZING. I got it blended as recommended by the sweet barista working and she was right. So good. It is a subtle blend of banana, coconut and chocolate and even my banana hating boyfriend took a sip and said yum. No gross candy flavored banana here. My boyfriend got the Raspberry Hibiscus Mocha, hot, and only thing wrong(if that’s even the right word) was it was burn your tongue hot. Just let it sit for a bit and it was yummmm-my! Great location, easy to find and close to lots of great places. Goodbye starbucks, hello Kona Coffee!

Quaint coffee shop that’s different from Starbucks. Wish they really had Kona Coffee from the islands though.
