I absolutely LOVE Jimbos. Probably one of the best grocery stores Ive been to. I go there everyday for their north park rumble and spinach poppyseed pasta. SOOOO GOOD!

Best family owned grocery store known to man. They do a pretty good job of hand picking and selecting the more reputable brands as well

I have got say that when you are met by cashiers Miriam or Haydee, you are instantly impressed. The whole staff there does a fantastic job! Ll

I love coming here. There a multiple options for bomb yet healthy foods. I like their salmon and brown rice. Or their tuna sandwich. Or their soups. Their staff is really sweet and loyal. Their managers are really caring and will go out of their way to help you. Great place!

Love the new juice and smoothie bar! You get to personalize your own smoothie now. The baked goods are very good as well. Good quality meats and produce. Very helpful employees and help you if you can’t find something.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I recently cut out sugar and carbs and am now GMO free. This place has everything organic. Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for. The quality here is superb. Everything is so fresh and delicious. I have already spent hundreds here and will continue to do so. Great customer service and staff. Highly recommend shopping here.

Nice store, but really pricey.
Service was a bit spotty, some friendly, the others a bit less helpful.
Selection was descent, and if you shop the sales you can get items at a fair price, but overall just too expensive for every day and your entire weekly needs.

LOVE Jimbo’s — happy to have this one in the 4S area. I used to shop at the original store in North Park in the 1990’s and have been a long-​time customer.
My husband was looking for organic/​whole grains in bulk and found a good selection. I was shopping for tea — the Yogi teas were on sale 2 for $ 7 — nice deal.
The entire store smells WONDERFUL! Organic fruits & veggies, essential oils, other natural health care products … while waiting for my husband I just walked the aisles and savored the olfactory goodness!
The selection isn’t huge but what they have is quality. It’s not cheap but prices seem pretty good for what you get. 5 stars!!!

Jimbo’s got some great items !!! They do offer things out of season but they are pricey like organic strawberries for $ 9.99. Nice deli, soup and smoothie bar section.
Lance, thank you ! You went above and beyond by making sure I got all the items I needed and went in the back without me asking to find frozen strawberries. We need more people like you !

Been coming here for years since I purchased my place. Prices are a bit higher than Ralph’s but the quality of their meat, poultry and produce shows.
There are great options for drinks, wine, etc. as well as dessert. Whoever you’re looking for, you’ll find it here and be out of here in a flash as the staff are very quick at checkout.
The store is spacious and the isles are always clear of clutter.
All products are well displayed and easily accessible. You don’t have to reach too high to bend low to get what you need.
There are always parking spots open in the lot and there are also tons of shopping carts or baskets to use.
I’m glad there’s another option here aside from Ralph’s as it keeps prices competitive.
If you’re looking for a meal already prepared, this place has is too!
I suggest their soups or salads, made fresh daily.

I’m grateful that I live really close to a Jimbo’s. That means I get to eat healthy and organic food whenever I want. My local Jimbo’s is like a 5 minute walk from my place. I’ll not say which Jimbo’s it is for privacy’s sake.
For those who aren’t aware, Jimbo’s is a supermarket that only sells organic and natural products. It’s also, only found in San Diego.
Now, this is the second Jimbo’s I’ve visited besides my local Jimbo’s. The first one was in Horton Plaza which is absolutely impressive (you’ll find my review at the Unilocal page for Jimbo’s at Horton Plaza).
Now this one is almost as massive as Jimbo’s at Horton Plaza but it’s missing a «burrito bar.» This one has a sushi deli though just like the one at Horton Plaza.
For a comparison, my local Jimbo’s that I live close to doesn’t have a sushi deli or a burrito bar. I’m still a huge fan of my local Jimbo’s so don’t get me wrong.
So, in conclusion, if you’re in this part of town and you want something healthy, fresh, and organic, then you can’t go wrong with Jimbo’s.

Wow! The Bakery Department has truly undergone some very positive changes! I live in this area but had been largely shopping at the Jimbo’s in Del Mar (near my job) because the baked goods there were so much yummier (see my separate Jimbo’s Del Mar review). I stopped by 4S a few times over the last couple weeks and the Bakery was rocking!
I am not sure what happened but I am overjoyed with the changes! The apple turnovers are highly addictive and the chocolate cake is just unreal. Many of my family and friends have dietary limitations and I can now have delicious baked goods to share with them instead of the bland, dry fare that I was often forced to settle for in the past.

Love this grocery store. Always has a great selection in whatever isle you walk through. The juice/​smoothie bar is amazing. Every time I order a sand-​which it’s always made properly and can taste the quality. The hot food bar you guys have is superb too! Soups always available & the employees at this location are always very helpful!

I absolutely love Jimbo’s! It’s my favorite grocery store in San Diego.
First off, their smoothies are delicious! I highly recommend the Tsunami. You can get a smoothie card which is a rewards program for the smoothie — buy 8 and get the 9^th free!
Second, every one is so friendly. At other groceries store, I feel like everyone is rushing. But at Jimbo’s the employees actually take their time to help you with product selection. They are very informative and helpful.
Third, I love their packages meals. They are so tasty and filling! My husband and I could live at Jimbo’s for the rest of our lives and be fully satisfied.
Lastly… This Jimbo’s happens to be within walking distance of another major grocery store, Ralph’s. Time and time again, I have seen items CHEAPER and better stocked at Jimbo’s than Ralph’s! Everything from apples to bread, Jimbo’s has all the healthy selection you need at affordable prices.

Love the clean orderly style of this grocery store, super helpful and friendly employees, and great selection of healthy organic food I can’t find elsewhere. Wish it wasn’t so far away from me. One less star due to the high prices (no more than you expect for a organic/​healthy grocery store), although I feel that Sprouts has more items marked on sale at any given time. Jimbos has more specialty items, and a great selection of sprouted grain breads and cereals. Plus pasture-​raised humane organic eggs. I’m a fan.

This is my most regular shopping spot. They are really good about vetting the products they carry.
All produce is organic. That’s the most awesome thing for me.
Huge organic dairy selections, canned, frozen, and boxed as well.
All sorts of wonderful cheeses.
There is a deli, but it’s not the kind where you walk up and tell them you want a pound of turkey. They have freshly prepared salads, meals, and baked goods. They also have a sandwich counter and coffee.
Very large and wonderful selection of quality vitamins, supplements, and homeopathics and a large variety of beauty/​body/​hair/​oral care products.
(I stopped buying meat from the case though and get it at other stores and markets. Just because it’s organic grass fed does not mean it should be tough and chewy.)
However that said, everyone is so friendly and helpful. You can special order things (as long as it’s something they can get — like I couldn’t order a 25# bag of Bob’s Red Mill Flour because it’s not on their list), but I can and do order quantities of vanilla, bags of turtle beans, short grain brown rice, and a few other things in bulk. And they’re happy to give a small discount if you buy the large bags or cases for stuff.
My kids love coming here too and my son loves to push one of the kid-​sized carts. I’m sure it helps that we always get a cold drink to take with us.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Clean, brightly lit, full of strange brands you won’t find in all the big chain supermarkets, + complete with a fantastic kitchen staff that churns out amazing omnivore, vegetarian, + vegan-​friendly food.
THE GOODS
Jimbo’s Naturally is a small company that provides a huge selection of hard to find, natural, organic, + alternative grocery products. The store is in the same vein spas other health food stores like Sprouts + Whole Foods, but provide health food almost to the complete exclusion of all the rest. I’m not complaining, mind you; it’s nice to come to a place knowing you’ll find all the strange ingredients you want.
THE DELI
Jimbo’s deli is truly the thing I come to this store for 9 times out of 10. My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the Cali Wrap with Daiya cheddar. — Totally vegan + 110% delicious, the Cali Wrap consists of romaine lettuce, red onion, tomato, avocado, alfalfa sprouts, hummus, + cheese all wrapped up in lavash bread. Seriously, it’s amazing + you need to go try one!
THE VERDICT
Great selection. Pricey, but expected for quality of goods. Delicatessen has some amazing vegan + vegetarian options that I frequent for lunch during the week. If you aren’t afraid to pay for high quality good-​for-​you foods, then GO check out Jimbo’s!

Well known fact that ranked among all the other healthy food stores (Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s), Jimbo’s falls right in the middle for moderate prices.
This is a perfect location, serving as a wonderful alternative to the Ralph’s next door, to seek out healthy choices when grocery shopping. I like going to this Jimbo’s because, 1) it’s the closest one to my house, and 2) I don’t feel like I’m being judged for just buying the already prepared food in lieu of actually purchasing healthy/​organic/​gluten-​free/​etc. ingredients to prepare a meal at home like all the other customers who frequent this store do. Only criticism is it always takes awhile for a worker to even show up at the hot food counter…
P. s. Don’t foget your re-​useable bags so you can earn that wooden nickel!

Popped in just prior to the lunch rush the other day. They offer great deli sandwiches and other hot or cold items. I had «the Natural» sandwich which had turkey and basic veggies (lettuce, tomato, onions, sprouts) on wheat bread. Was tasty and worth the price. Totally hit the spot on a warm day. Deli gets pretty crowded around lunch time so if you go around 11 or even 11:30, you’ll beat the crowds and be in and out in a jiff!
As for the groceries, I haven’t really needed to shop around. Looked like they don’t carry the typical items on the shelves as they tend to carry items more on the healthy side. I don’t shop there much, but I think it’s worth the stop when in a pinch.

So glad this place exists. A couple months ago I came here feeling like I was catching a cold. I tried the flu fighter 12 ounce at the deli/​smoothie bar, for $ 5.95 and although it was a little painful to get down, my cold never happened! I thought I was going under for sure!
I might have to try the fat burner 12 ounce next!
Again, 5 stars for no gmo!
