I won’t buy new cars and take the depreciation hit and I won’t buy a used car without Paul’s inspection.
I’ve used Paul’s services for about 10 years and approximately 6 vehicles, ranging from a 15 passenger van to a Dually to a minivan and an SUV. His advice and his vast knowledge of quirks and common issues are invaluable.

I reached out to Paul the night before I went to test drive the car I liked. At first I was a little bit skeptical about hiring someone to inspect the car with all the guarantees the dealer is offering.

When you find a good deal on a used car you have to act fast before someone else beats you to it. If you’re like me and want to get an expert opinion before you commit to buying, that can often complicate things. Your mechanic is far away from the point of sale, doesn’t have an immediate appt etc. Here’s where inspect-​a-​car comes to the rescue. We called late Friday evening regarding a car we just looked at. Paul responded immediately and was able to meet us first thing the next morning. He texted us when he arrived at the location of the car. When we arrived he was ½ way through his inspection. He stopped and recapped everything he had done so far. Through the remainder of the process he explained each and everything thing he was doing. The whole process was more than 1 hr, during which nothing felt rushed and he throughly answered all of our many questions. He even invited us to ride along for the road test. At the end he advised us of some areas we might use to negotiate the price, went over the carfax with us and explained some of things we should do to maintain the car should we decide to buy it.
I honestly thought his service was worth more than the price paid. I learned a lot from him during the process and felt confident that I was getting a fair price on a good car. Prior to this I hadn’t even heard of a mobile car inspector. Now, I wouldn’t imagine making a purchase without one and when I do I will call inspect-​a-​car. The meager cost of the inspection could save you thousands.

We were looking for a car for our sixteen-​year-​old son today and located one we liked at a dealer in Escondido. We called Paul at 11:00 am; he was on another job in Carlsbad but said he would come over when he finished. He showed up in Escondido at 12:30 and was able to inspect the car for us right away. Had he not been so prompt, we would have lost the car to another buyer.
We were very impressed with Paul’s professionalism and his knowledge of auto mechanics. He went over the car very thoroughly and took the time to explain to us everything that he was doing and what he was looking for. This is now the fourth time we have used Paul’s services. We still own the last three cars he inspected for us-​all of which turned out to be very reliable cars. (One car he inspected for us over eleven years ago!)

Was looking to buy a used car and I wanted to have a mechanic take a look before I spent all the money. I’m not really a car guy.
I called in the morning and they went to the seller’s home and did the inspection that afternoon. I bought the car the next day, and saved a little bit by talking the seller down because the car needed new tires and front brakes. I definitely saved more money and hassle than it cost me.
I highly encourage using a mobile inspection service if you’re buying a new car — and I
can definitely vouch for this one.
