This Haggens will be closing in 6 days(sat Dec, 5), so says the sign posted outside. stuff is marked down dramatically, so the store is rather bare, but good deals can be found. Ice cream is marked down 60%, wine 50%, hard liquor 40%, candy 60%, greeting cards 60%. Like i said the store is pretty bare, I’d say only 15% stocked but good deals can be found. They are selling everything, the detergents that they clean the floor with, even a motion activated paper towel dispenser for the bathroom(still in box new) for $ 20. Bought a bunch of ice cream, candy, and greeting cards, i mean everyone has birthdays, so why not stock up? Good deals can be had, if you can find something.

I want to thank all the corporate assholes who thought it was a good idea to over extend themselves by buying up several established Stores then closing them. Thank you for Fucking up our local neighborhood by having to close our local store. Now we no longer have a store of Albertsons quality to shop at. Been going to that store since it opened and used the Pharmacy on a regular basis. Maybe if your prices weren’t through the roof more people would have shopped at your shitty store, or better yet maybe if you didn’t over extend yourselves you wouldn’t have to charge so much. Hard working people are now out of good paying jobs because some Asshats in the board room were having dreams of huge corporate bonuses and probably stock options. I hope there is a special place in Hell for greedy pricks such as the ones running that company. Rant over.

For a store that is closing they don’t really seem as if they want to get rid of their inventory. Majority of the items were between 10 to 30% off with hair accessories at 40% and cards at 60%. There are still many items to liquidate, many of the shelves were still full with merchandise compared to the Mira Mesa location.

I used to come to this store when it was Albertsons. It was one of the best Albertsons in town. I am extremely unhappy with Haggen. They raised the prices on everything, have awful sale prices and changed the brands they sell. The store is now closing and even with the going outnof business prices they are still more expensive than Vons. Definitely not worth the trip to this store.

Okay so I haven’t lived in San Diego for years so I at first only knew this used to be an Albertsons. Since I walked in not knowing much, I didn’t have any expectations. I was just running in for a few things prior to a BBQ. I walked in and the first thing I realized is that it seemed very dark inside. It doesn’t feel welcoming at all. I was then walking around looking in the produce section and realized, they put NOTHING on sale! I had to use the restroom so I walked to the front and asked where it was. The lady just said in the back so I walked from one end to the other looking for any signs to direct me. I finally found one after searching. I am walking through the store and am noticing prices are extremely high, they felt higher than Whole Foods. There was also NO meat in the meat department and the deli and pharmacy were completely shut down. This is definitely a store I would not return to as it doesn’t feel much like a supermarket or a good store in any way. I only saw one other customer in the store so I am not sure how long this place will last.

This Haggen was fairly decent before, but now that they are going to close one day, not so much. CHECKTHEEXPIRATIONDATES! The majority of the items I looked at today were expiring in a month or two and then there was the butter that had expired 2 months ago. It was so depressing.

This last time I was in Haggen’s the shelves were almost bare. This is a beautiful store and it is sad to see it like this. I am hoping they will fill the shelves again so it can become a thriving store.

Slowly, I have become disappointed with my shopping experience sine this place switched over to Haggen’s. At this last visit, I was shocked to see that some of the shelves were empty of products. As if they maybe did not receive a semi truck of foods. I would have probably not thought much of this had it only been one item that they did not have in stock. However it was more than one item. For instance their bottle water section was almost wiped out with nothing on the shelves. I can’t recall the other two products that they did not have in stock. Which forced me to go across the street to a different grocery store. I would like to say that I was taking my business to a competitor, however Von’s and Haggens are part of the same company so I was held hostage to shop with them due to convenience. The prices seemed to have increased since it became Haggen’s. On the bright side they have a big parking lot and plenty of Rock Star parking. Maybe this is due to less customers shopping here?

ZEROSTARS! Before Haggen took over, Albertsons was one of my favorite grocery store. I used to love their weekly specials/coupons and their friendly employees. I never had a problem finding what I needed. Now that Haggen took over, the store has tremendous gone downhill. I went on Friday(9⁄11) for a light shopping and for their deli fried chicken. I was completely shock that the deli area was practically bare and an employee said there is no fried chicken that day. Then I went to the bread aisle and the shelves were also bare. I couldn’t wait to get my small shopping done so I could leave. One of the items I purchased was a large bag if Kibble & Bits dog food. I have a container that I dump the food into. when I got to the bottom of the bag, I notice something not right. It looked like there was a web-like substance over a good part of the dog food. I tried to scoop out what I could, but was not able to get all of it. I didn’t think much about it but I noticed today(after 2 days) there was dog thrownups in several areas of our large indoor patio. My Dacschund didn’t look normally his chipper self. I got so disgusted that I threw the entire dog food in the trash. I’m beginning to think that bag probably has been sitting on their shel for a long time. My experience at Haggen has ended. I won’t be surprise if they close this store down before the end of the year. At least they won’t take up wasted space.

Zero stars!!! This is my second review about Haggen. First one was me complaining about the tremendous increase in prices. Fine, I was willing to spend an extra $ 10 per shopping trip. But now they don’t even have any selections. They only have one kind of turkey meat in the deli section… Yes! I asked. Their bread isle is bare. What the heck is going on? This was my one stop shop. Now I’m willing to go to different stores to get my shopping needs. Oh yeah! Almost forgot… Last week that I went to get my weekly supplies, there was only one cashier, so I decided to use the self check out. Well, when it was time to pay, I accidentally pressed the wrong button, which prompted the register to ask for a code. No biggie right? Wrong! The cashier saw that I needed help, and was super rude when she walked up to punch in her code. Wow! Bad prices, rude cashiers, now bad selections. I miss you Albertsons :_(

To be honest, I haven’t done any real grocery shopping here yet. I usually come here for bait to fish with… and Kimberly in the seafood department helps me out every time, she’s great. She recognizes when I come in, makes sure I get exactly what I need, and is super helpful. I’ll definitely keep coming back, thanks Kimberly!

I had high hopes for this new store after reading online about the current stores in the Pacific Northwest. There is nothing new about this store except for the name and the higher prices. They keep mentioning the organic section, it’s smaller than Von’s and no different from what Albertson’s had. The half gallon of milk is cheaper than Von’s at $ 1.99 but I went there last week just for milk and the sign said $ 1.99 but I was charged $ 2.19. No big deal, the price is still good but I hate when the price rings up different and of course there wasn’t any worker at the self serve check out to help me, there never is. Bottom line, even though this store is within walking distance from my house it’s way too expensive and I guess the rest of the neighborhood agrees because it is always empty.

Been in once since taking over Albertsons, all they did was raise the prices through the roof !! I couldn’t believe the prices in the deli, $ 15.99 lb. for sliced turkey, really !! Horrible name for a store as well … I’ll stick to Vons across the street from here on … Just an update since I left this review. Not surprised at how many locations have already had to close down.

Nothing special here, just a vons or albertsons with a new name. Don’t tout your organic stuff in advertising when all you have is a cart full in a corner. Priced about the same as whole foods so no real savings either. There is a good sized liquor store in there, so grab a bottle, you’ll need it to calm down when you get home and find your box of mushrooms has mold growing under all of them. Your advertising commercials would have received 5 stars because it got me in the door looking for fresh organics, but your store yeahhhh no.

Unilocal 100 challenge 2015 Haggens took over albertsons in balboa ace, it has poke pretty cool except it doesn’t look to fresh, a lot of seafood fr wild salmon, shrimp, prawns, crab legs, snow tabs… Prices are normal like regular grocery stores. Wow a lot of different types of meat n seafood.

I went to Haggen for the first time unaware this was one of the«transformed» locations. It looks and feels just like Albertsons but I was very unimpressed. The prices are sky high. I would rather pay those prices at whole foods or a farmers market. As soon as I saw their prices I turned around and walked out. Buyers be aware of their prices.

Not impressed. The only good deals seemed to be the Albertson’s items that we being discontinued. Reminded me of Bristol Farms, over priced and unremarkable. I did purchase some of their organic produce and found it disappointing. The raspberries were slimey and had mold on the bottom of the container.

Just went to the new Haggen, seemed pretty similar to albertsons but better produce selection and some good pricing. However similar to the previous reviewer we were also overcharged on soup(ringing double what the sign said which luckily we caught at check out) and also some white wine was 2 $ more on our receipt what it was signed at. Just noticed this unfortunately after getting home:/. I’m sure it’s just kinks since they just opened but kind of lame:/. Surprising they didn’t seem to really have any door busters or any like welcome to our new store signage or anything. Prices seem fair enough tho and it’s close so we’ll give it another try. Definitely not the replacement for trader joes /sprouts though
