Gr8 Cutz Barbershop

It was my first time at this place since I moved here and I was very pleased with my cut. I got my hair cut by Tony and he was awesome. He was very friendly and knew exactly what I was looking for. He cut my hair a little shorter than I wanted but it looked great. I will definitely be coming back here!

STEVE is awesome. Handled my 2 year old with care. They are very professional and the barbershop is well kept.

We had a great experience for a great price. It is a clean large shop with comfortable waiting area. There are 4 large screen tvs and magazines. I had no appointment and they were able to fit both my sons in in less than an half hour. They work quickly. The barbers are all friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back. The boys look like they are stepping out of a shop back East. Thanks Steve and Tony.

The barbers at Gr8t cuts are the best in San Diego (hands down). They are constantly professional and the facilities are very clean. The atmosphere is very family orientated. My barber’s name is Toney; since 2004 he’s been cutting my hair. I strongly recommend any barber in this great establishment.

I was referred to this shop by a coworker. I set up an appointment with Eric the next day, which he confirmed. I then drive all the way from North County to where the shop is located only to find out that Eric isn’t there. One of the other barber’s calls him to find out why he left considering that we had an appointment. He says that he’s all the way across town and isn’t coming back to the shop. Not only that, but the two other barbers who were there didn’t even offer to cut me considering that I made them aware of my pending flight for the next day. Had this been a business appointment I would have been screwed. I will never deal with this shop or anyone in it ever again. I will take my time and money to where it is valued.

Tony is the best barber in spot. I’ve been coming to him since 2008. Really good guy. Great edge ups/​line ups.

GR8 Cutz has GR8 service and my 9 & 11 year old got hooked up by Jason! We will definitely come back again & again :)

What a train wreck… Just stay away and find a better shop with better service.
NOTE: I was a potential new customer who found this business via an iPhone map search. I am not a potential customer anymore and DID NOT use their services. I will never go to this location again due to poor /​nonexistent service.
NOTE2: I left this location without a hair cut after waiting over an hour without anyone talking to me the entire time. What a disaster as the following happened;
Service: When I walked into the shop there were 3 people ahead of me (i.e. they were sitting in the waiting chairs). There were 4 barbers on site (3 cutting hair and 1 sitting almost horizontal in his chair playing or working on something using his cellular telephone). After about 10 minutes the 4^th barber stopped using his phone and called up a customer. At this point I was feeling OK…2 to go and then it would be my turn.
After nearly an hour NO ONE had moved!!! The same customers were waiting while the same customers were still getting hair cuts. Meanwhile, a family (mother and 2 sons) came in, spoke to the barber who had been on this telephone, and left.
10 minutes later that family came back. The barber who was on the telephone finished with his customer (the other 3 were still working on the same customers). STILL…2 left to go until my turn and none of the barbers had spoken to me yet.
A few minutes later the barber who had been on the telephone placed of the the boys from the family (that came in WELL after me) in his chair and started cutting his hair… AT THIS POINT I GOT UP AND LEFT.
The service is AWFUL!!!
Location: I have no idea how anyone finds this place without a map. I’ve lived here for years and never knew it existed. It’s in a small strip mall located behind another building off Park Ave. It’s not a very good location.
Staff: Enough said in the «service» area above. The staff was not helpful, didn’t communicate, and were in their own worlds at the chair. As you may expect, the staff on hand at that time was 100% men. This is a barber shop.
Just don’t go to this barber unless you are already a known customer. I’m sure they treat others OK based on the Unilocal reviews preceding mine.

After getting butchered at the MCRD on a Saturday afternoon, I needed a haircut real bad. A friend referred me to Gr8 Cutz and I zoomed over as fast as I could. E Dubb laughed at first but sat me down and went to work. Within 15 mins I was out the door with a clean cut and a smile on my face. These guys earned my business for the rest of my stay in SD.

There is a new standard for barbershops and that standard is Gr8 Cutz. Gr8 Cutz is a destination style barbershop that boast a visionary owner, and a staff of masters level barbers. The facility is equipped with free wifi, assorted beverages for staff and clients, ample parking, private restrooms, and so much more. Walk-​ins are welcome, however appointments are preferred.
