Judy was amazing with my hair. I came in and told her the style I wanted and she delivered. I left feeling confident and super happy. I’ve never felt so happy after a hair cut! I am so glad that it turned out so great. I came on a whim… And took a chance considering I was going to a party that night. I told Judy this and she curled my hair. I had so many compliments. I feel super young and energetic after this new hair cut! She’s my new go to stylist!

Ask for Jackie! After moving to San Diego it was a struggle finding someone who can deal with my thin european hair. She did a great job with color and cut. I would defiantly recommend her to a friend!

I came to foxy hair designs because of the reviews I read in Unilocal, all I can say is I’m completely satisfied with the results of how amazingly awesome my hair turned out. I made an appointment ahead of time and explained what I wanted over the phone. When I came in Judy was there expecting me since I was going to be the last customer for that Sunday afternoon. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she explained to me what would work for my hair type(may I add long and thick hair) and she gave me her opinion and all I could say is I LOVEIT. She layered my hair, did two tones colors on me light brown and caramel color, then I went under the dryer, had my hair washed and blowed dried and the sweetest part was her curling my hair out of charge:) she brought my hair back to life and made me feel beautiful! I will definitely come back to Judy! Thank you soooooo muchh Judy! !

I have been seeing Judy for a couple of years. I came, washed my hair, sat down and she can do whatever with my hair. It was always perfect.

So I read the other reviews and people are so crazy on Unilocal, lol. Like would you say this stuff in person? It’s a salon, every client is different, there is more than likely going to be a wait. It’s Linda Vista, San Diego…“ghetto” uhhh… I’m from Oakland, tell me more. *rolls eyes* ANYWAYS, I have lived in San Diego for almost three years and have had 2 bad salon experiences, one mediocre, and now… I have found my go-to! My hair was recovering from a bad haircut and one woman(I didn’t get her name) gave me solid advice as to what I needed for my trim, I told her I only wanted an inch off and she did just that, took off the bulk from my hair that made me look like a mushroom and gave my hair life again! Then, I wanted a specific blonde/Ash color so Judy took over from here. Mind you I’m going from a dark brown w/highlights(Which I paid almost $ 300 for at Belli Belli in PB, ugh, good work but insane prices…) to a painted in blonde look. I knew at this point it would take more than one session to get it right, and because I was on time constraints Judy walked me through each step and made sure I knew exactly what was happening, when it was happening, and why. The end of my first session I loved my hair, but Judy then told me as a stylist she personally wanted to see me again free of charge to make sure it’s exactly what I wanted, and she was satisfied with her work. *Tears* I love her. I mean talk about customer concern and satisfaction. I really didn’t think I could love my hair more after the first session… BUTBAM! Look at these pictures! Look at that damn dimension, that style, that color! I will be back here for all my trims, trials and looks! Affordable, convenient, and yummy food all in the plaza for after your long salon appointments lol! If you’re ignorant, bougie, or not used to culture, please stay away from this place, it’s not for you! Head over to a La Jolla salon for ghastly pricing and a glass of cooks champagne to make you feel important(:

Judy has been cutting my hair for a couple years now. She does an amazing job. I’ll stick with her for as long as I can.

Judy really did an amazing job. She listens to what I wanted to do and provided insights with what’s going to look good on me.

I found this place thanks to Unilocal six years ago when I moved back to San Diego after a brief time away. I wanted to chop my hair into a bob which can be risky! I was super happy with the results and I’ve gone to Vicki ever since! I really appreciate how they don’t push products or services on you– I hated going to my previous SD lady in Fashion Valley mall because she was always trying to up-sell either shampoo or highlights and color(on top of a $ 60 hair cut!). None of that here! The setting is nice, not overly swanky or pretentious and plenty of parking. Vicki has been great for both long and short styles, whether I’ve worn my hair straight or beauty wavy. All of my friends who I’ve sent to her agree. Also, you can’t beat the price– $ 35 for an excellent cut?! All of that, and she’s also super quick!

Yea, I get it… the prices are great but the service is horrible. I made an appt a week in advance, when I arrived to said appointment I was barely acknowledged by the three people working there. I waited for half an hour only to have a walk-in get taken care of before me. Save your money and bring take it to an establishment that wants your business.

I dropped in for a haircut, which only set me back $ 40 and included a hair wash and blow out. My stylist(unfortunately I forgot her name) was really friendly and really took her time with me. It’s not the most swanky place, but I thought it was great for the price!

I went to see Judy for the first time after reading all the rave reviews and I was very happy with my cut and color! My hair is down to my waist and I wanted to get a v shaped layer cut and she did exactly that. I wanted subtle highlights and got just that. She did not trim my hair any shorter than I wanted and was very meticulous and knowledgeable. I will definitely come back for touch-ups! Very reasonably priced too!

So it was my first time coming here and I totally loved it! Everyone is friendly and easy going! Judy did my hair and I absolutely loved it! She’s amazing! I will most definitely come back here to re-do it again! Even though my hair faded(it was purple) the fade is actually super pretty! It’s like an ash light brown and everybody loves it. Thank you so much Judy!

Jackie is my go-to! I’ve been going to her since middle school! But I don’t visit her often since I honestly get my hair cut probably twice a year lol. In January, I decided to thin out my super thick, long hair and she did a phenomenal job! It probably took an hour or so to do, but that’s because she’s very thorough about her work. I came back last month(September) to get my hair trimmed and thinned out. When I tie my hair up now, it feels so light, and the way she cut my hair really complimented my face shape. The pricing isn’t even bad(considering I only go twice a year lol). My hair is down to my butt and for all the work she did, it only costs $ 50 + tip! So if you’re looking for a trustworthy hairstylist who does quality work at an affordable price, call Jackie!

Jackie is amazing! She has the gift! Let me tell you! I’ve always had the Rihanna cut and well time and time again I’ve searched for a stylist to get it just right. After going with my girl for 5 years 10 years ago. It was hard to find a person to get that perfect cut. She has the touch! She cut my hair perfectly and washed and styled my hair for the same affordable price. I am living in Texas but I will plan my Cali visits around my haircut because I’ve been searching for 10 years for someone to cut it with such perfection! She took her time with my cut, even when people came in and she had a bit of a line she didn’t rush, finished with perfection! I’ve paid up to $ 100 for this haircut, to have it chopped and murdered grotesquely. Jackie did it for much less and was on point! Thanks Jackie!

The stellar Unilocal reviews brought me here. It’s in the big ghetto Linda Vista plaza(I guess that’s not all that descriptive). the big plaza with Thuan Phat Vietnamese super market toward the top of the hill. I haven’t been back to this plaza in ages. but Foxy Hair is located along the left side of the market(facing the entrance from the parking lot) and a couple doors down from a banh mi joint. It’s a typical asian mom & pop style hair salon. Nothing fancy. but it has the basics to serve the daily stream of clientele. They were quick to schedule same day during a weekday(called earlier in the day for the appointment after work). I had no idea who would be addressing my hair but I figured I would worry about it when I get there.(I really need to stop doing that.) The reviews seemed to highlight Vickie or Jackie or Judy. who I presume are the more younger and talented parties at the salon. and were the two younger women chit chatting at one end of the salon when I got there. Instead of one of these two women. I was passed off to an older asian woman who man handles like you are a child at your auntie’s house(not a bad thing. but it made me laugh). It is hard to describe that feeling of an older woman who just«knows what’s best for you»… and will do what she thinks is best for you. even though it’s no where near what you really desired. She was nice enough. so I have no qualms against her as an individual or as a hair stylist… I’m sure she did what she believed was the best… but it wasn’t what I had asked for or what I was seeking. I was firm about keeping the length. My hair grows VERY slow. and for some reason. at the end. my hair was thinned out at least 50%. and cut more than«an inch» off the back. I wish I could explain the heartbreak I felt. I came in with specific samples of the bangs I was seeking. i got a very YouTube DIY approach to bangs. that I still can’t seem to control or style more than a week later. There’s just no repair for them… Again, she tried… the older woman. and I kind of felt bad for her. so I still tipped her high. But I think the result would have been different if the other women that are highly applauded on here performed the services. That said. after observing their behavior while in the salon. I don’t think I would have wanted them either. so overall I don’t think I would return or refer. I did not like the final result. and seriously. it took me so long to grow my hair out long enough past my shoulders and to that thickness. it was heart breaking that all that patience was just chopped away even with specific instructions to leave the length and fullness… This was an instance when Unilocal let me down and the high reviews were very misleading. Overall I would give it a 2.5. Would not return and would not recommend.

I have been in San Diego for 5 years and never found a stylist I loved for a price I could afford. The search is over! After reading several great reviews, I decided to try it out. Jackie was able to fit me in the next day, and I couldn’t be happier. She gave me a honest and knowledgeable consultation on my super fine, curly-frizzy natural hair and took the time to go over several styles I liked to help me select the one that would be best for me. The cut I received is better than cuts I have had at fancy, super expensive salons– for about half the cost! The location is not fancy, but if you are looking for a high quality cut at a great value, this is the place! Jackie was warm and personable from the get-go and obviously very skilled at her craft! I could not be happier!

Judy is my go-to gal when it comes to haircuts. She’s been cutting my hair for a few years now and each appointment, I leave her salon happy with beautiful hair like today! One of the main reasons I love Judy’s work is that she knows how to cut and style long thick hair like mine. I’ve been to a few hairstylists before her where instantly I can see my hair looking flat and boring. Judy is amazing at cutting layers and she does it so effortless and fast. On average, my haircuts take about 10 – 15 mins. Within that time, Judy is so nice to chat with. Since I see her about once every 6 months or so, we usually catch up on how we are doing. I’ve always hated salons forcing their hairstylists to sell you overpriced hair products that you don’t really need. However, you will not get that annoyance from Judy. She does not pressure you to buy hair products. She is there to cut/style your hair amazingly. If you ask her for advice on hair or products, then she’ll suggest things for you. Reasonable price on haircuts. My hair is super long and thick so usually my cuts are between $ 35-$ 37. Well worth it for the cut and the service, hence why I always come back. :)

Came in for a hair trim and out within 30 minutes. Judy has mad skills!!! This is my 2nd time coming here cause I don’t trust anyone else with my hair but her! She’s patient and very personable. Let her know what you want and she will go over what she will do to your hair that way your both on the same page. The salon is clean with Taylor swift playing in the background. Bring cash if your cut is under $ 20!

I’ve been going here since high school and I think its about time I’ve written a review! I actually moved to LA but I still wait to come back to SD to get my hair cut here. I tried a couple places in LA, including the Toni&Guy Academy, and I still think Judy is better! Prices are reasonable and everyone I’ve had here is great. I’ve had a short a-line haircut, layers, bangs, and ombré here and they’ve all been great. I’ll add some photos throughout the years to speak for themselves!
