I really wanted to like Evan’s tire… but it’s hard.
They quoted me $ 40 for a TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) rebuild with my new tires, but my car does not have this system.
I kept my old tires, and when the bill came I was still being charged $ 16 for the disposal of them.
I bought a new pair of wipers which turned out to cost 41 dollars! The $ 10 off a pair of wiper blades promotion was… overlooked. I figured well, they must be nice wipers… but then afterwards found them at Napa for ¹⁄₃ the price. They were the cheapest wipers they had.
They also took a shot at convincing me to spend an extra $ 1000 on (unneeded) shock replacement.
In the end, I got a good price for my set of tires ($ 230 for four tires and a warranty, although the original quote was over $ 150 more expensive). However, I have a hard time feeling good about my experience. Luckily I have the knowledge to avoid $ 56 in incorrect charges and $ 1000 in unneeded repairs… I would hate to know what would happen to someone who is less knowledgeable about their vehicle.

I took my car in for new brakes and tires about a month ago to the Evans Tire location in Miramar. They did a great job putting new tires on… but the brakes are another story. They squeal every time I touch my brakes and I even hear/​feel some grinding at times. I brought the car back last weekend and explained the situation.
They explained that they only changed the front brakes and the noise is coming from the back brakes, and that my rear rotors need to be resurfaced to alleviate the issue. So here’s the thing, when I first came in, I asked for all new brakes. If shops only change the brakes that require attention, why didn’t they catch the back brake issue the first time?
More importantly why hasn’t anything changed since they resurfaced the rear rotors? My car sounds terrible. I didn’t spend the money I did for this kind of «work». Now I’m stuck with a squeaky car… thanks Evans!
I would not recommend this location. I don’t know how the other Evans locations operate, but the guys at this branch clearly don’t know how to do a thorough brake job. However, they are very good at wasting your time and taking your money.

Just got my breaks and rotors replaced here. I called and they took me same day. They were honest with the work that needed to be done. Anthony even made sure to let me know what was still under warranty that needed to be fixed so I could have that stuff done at the dealership at no charge which was awesome. He also reminded me to come in more often for my free tire rotation since I got tires here last year with a coupon I got in the mail. He further went on to suggest the best places I could go get food or coffee within walking distance since it was going to take about 2 hours. Great experience, friendly service, and my car is running great. I would suggest this place to anyone who needs some minor stuff done to their vehicle.

I went to Evans Poway for an alignment and flat repair. Flat repair was fixed, but my alignment was definitely off even though the technicians provided me diagnostics claiming my alignment being nearly perfect.
I called Evans Miramar for a second opinion, explaining my concern that my alignment is off and was given the next available appointment (same day). I spoke to Anthony. He assisted my call as well as performed my car’s alignment. He adjusted the alignment and now my car’s alignment is perfect!

Five stars for a great experience. I was dreading it, certain that I would be ripped off since I know nothing about tires. I couldn’t be more wrong — I got exactly what I needed for a very fair price and they actually went out of their way to SAVE me money (instead of replacing something, they just fixed it). The work was done on time, just as promised. I used to be a Costco tire customer, but I will now go here on Miramar Road every time.

On Friday morning I dropped my car off during lunch and asked the guy if they could do a synthetic oil change in the next four hours. I told them I was heading out of town and had a tight deadline. He said, «sure, it won’t take more than 90 minutes.» fantastic.
I come back four hours later and my car hasn’t moved. They tell me they apologize and they’ll bang it out in 15 minutes. Fine, that’ll work for me. I’ll just stick around.
50 minutes later it’s still not done so I walk out to the garage. It’s sitting there with nobody tending to it. I go back in and ask the guy what’s up.
He has the nerve to tell me it’s just waiting for a window sticker so they can write the next service interval.
Are you kidding me?!? Roll it out of the garage and let’s go!!!
They ended up comping the service, but that’s not important. I didn’t come to get my service comped. I came there because I was on a tight time line and had to get to Arizona by 10pm.
Never again.

I planed to replace my tires on Black Friday. But the current deal in Evans Tire is so good that I decided to do it today. They are super friendly and get the job done. Their waiting room is equipped with AC, TV and a coffee machine. I have very good experience here and I’m considering to do my next oil change in this shop. Highly recommended!

I brought my car in for a diagnostic and they were incredibly helpful in figuring out what was wrong with it. Their staff was knowledgeable and their prices were more than fair. They were extremely polite and accommodating and I would not only go back every time, but also would recommend this place to all of my friends

I went here at my husbands suggestion. I needed oil change but also I knew my breaks, alignment tire rotation fluids etc had been neglected for quite awhile. There were know surprises when Josh and Anthony offered free diagnostic check and confirmed these additional repairs should be addressed today. Josh was able to open a good year credit card 12 months with out a finance charge. I knew I would be there for awhile offered me a ride home but I told them I would wait. I love to observe customer service and as people arrived and left and waited in a cool waiting room, coffee, water restroom TV I loved what I what I saw. Very personable and professional service to everyone. My car feels like new! Very happy to refer anyone especially men and women who may feel like they have been taken advantage of at a mechanics’ if they have little knowledge of car repairs.

I have the policy alignment, which means I get alignment, wheel balancing and tire rotation free. I only come to Evans for this service. I go to BT auto for everything else. This place always does a «full inspection» recommending $ 600 worth of repairs and as with most shops, try to outsmart me because, surprise, I am a woman. What they don’t know is that I’ve taken auto shop classes and I know my shit.
Things have been better recently as I understand, the shop is under new management. The service I get here is a hit or miss. Depending on who’s behind the desk, I either get a very satisfactory visit or I’m left feeling insulted. I often get smart ass answers or pressured to get something repaired. Also, the parking at this location is horrendous!
Unless you get some fantastic deal for it, I wouldn’t recommend coming here to have anything done.

I was impressed with my experience at Evans Tire and Service Center. After hearing from a repair shop that I needed new tires immediately, I called several shops around Miramar for quotes. Mike and Josh were extremely helpful and thorough. When I got there, Josh remembered our conversation and had everything ready to go. Excellent service and saved me money off the other quotes. Based on my experience, I’m surprised at some of the poor Unilocal reviews, but *shrugs* who knows. I recommend coming here for your car needs. I will be back!

Josh was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting my truck serviced. I come here every time I need my tires, oil, service done. A great one stop shop!

I’d like to first throw a shoutout to Josh, Christian, and Rick, thanks guys I don’t know what I would’ve done without your help! So I neglected my car a bit and didn’t get the tire pressure checked with bald tires and got a flat. First time i came in the staff was extremely helpful right off the bat by helping me put the spare on. Not only that but one of the mechanics, Rick, went out of the way to fix the flat. Being in the military I get paid pennies so it meant a lot to me that this shop hooked me up without asking for anything more than my future business. Not only that but when I came in again mechanics Christian and Rick hooked me up again by replacing the spare. ANOTHER mechanic then approached me about getting all four new tires which i know I need but told him I can’t afford $ 600 – 800 in all new tires yet so he told me about this badass deal they have going on, buy 2 get 2 free, and found me a offered me an unbelievable price of $ 500 to get 4 new tires. Im definitely coming back tomorrow for an oil change and in the next couple weeks for those tires once i can afford them. Evans tire is definitely the best service center i found in san diego in the past couple years I’ve lived here so i definitely intend on going back there for the rest of my auto needs.

I’ve gotten my oil changed here and I’ve also purchased tires here. Customer service is awesome the job is done fast and the prices are great.

I was driving by on my way home to LA and my tire pressure light came on so I pulled in and they took care of it quickly and they didn’t even charge me. These guys are fine people and they do quality work, this type of customer service is going the way of the dinasour, very pleased.

These guys were closed yet still open. I was so stressed I had a nail in my tire and it was sunday night, the next morning I had to go to court in dwntwn. so I didnt know if my car would make it since the sensor was on. The guys were super helpful, fast, courteous and knew how to reset the electronic sensor on my new car. Plus they didn’t charge me. I had to give them a tip !! Awesome service.

Buying new tires is probably one of the worst things EVER. Finding the right price, tire, place, whatever, literally kept me up at night because tire companies make the consumer feel like there’s always a better price. That kind of marketing is pure evil.
I started talking with Scott T. (with Evan’s Tires) a couple of days into my tire research and I called his direct line every time I had a new tire type quandary or price inquiry. I waved my white flag when he beat a Discount Tire price (significantly) without even knowing the Discount Tire price. He was an educational, no BS, man’s man with a soft-​side, kind of guy and we were on a first name basis in no time (the last call I made to him, he answered the phone: «Hi Rachele, am I going to have to invite you to my 4^th of July barbecue now?»). I put that poor guy through the ringer due to my tire price anxiety attacks. He even beat Costco’s prices for me and I didn’t know that was possible.
In the end, I got my tires and $ 15 off getting my alignment done. AND $ 15 off an oil change. AND the gentleman working at the Miramar location was quick, kind, and attentive.
So before you go straight to Discount or take your tire research straight to Discount, be sure to consider Evan’s. You won’t be disappointed!
