El Pollo Loco

I’ve lived in the South Bay for years, but I’ve been finding myself more and more disappointed when I come here. I started my order by asking the guy on the loud speaker, if they still carried the crunchy chicken tacos, he asked me to look on the right side of the menu, and started to laugh. I let it go… I get to the window to pay, and here is a young 23 — 26 year old, kinda buff, young male with braces and, a lisp, messing around, and then comes back to the window, and takes my payment. I get home, and open up the chicken tacos, and they are cold! It looks like someone who was in a hurry, just slapped some cold chicken, a whole bunch of salad greens and salsa and wrapped it in foil. What happened to the quality of your food, el pollo loco? Do you ever check on your employees? Not coming back.

Food was very good but during busy hours their tables are always messy and so as their sauce bar. But kudos to their service that was quick and staff are friendly.

This is my second time visiting this place and with assumption that second time would be better.
I was VERY incorrect, this place is not the greatest. The chicken is also dry and rubbery with no favor. You basically drown the chicken with the water base salsa and hope it will go down your throat. The tortilla are stale.

Thought the food was very good. My wife was very pleased with her burrito and I was happy with my order of chicken. The sides were tasty and served hot. The chicken breast was plentiful and moist. The service was quick and polite. The restaurant was quite full but very clean. I’ll go back.

Been there two nights in a row. Thought it was a fluke so I went again and they still screwed up my order! I ordered the same thing both nights (shrimp avocado burrito) they repeated it back to me! I came home with a chicken avocado burrito the first night because the employees were too busy screwing around to get my order correct. The second night I came home with shrimp avocado tacos instead of a burrito. Which is close but what’s the point in repeating the order back to me and then giving me something completely different?! Next time I want el pollo loco I’ll take the drive somewhere else. So disappointed.

It was too hot to cook and we didn’t want fast food so we thought this would be better for us. My double chicken avocado salad was very good and had plenty of chicken and was fresh and my husbands shrimp and chicken fajita tostada and no complaints there. My daughter got the 2 piece chicken combo and everything was very good. I was nervous after reading the reviews and seeing they only had a few stars but always have to see for myself and it wasn’t bad for our second time and the food came out very fast.

Went back through the drive thru, a different person taking the order and all was fantastic! Really fast and accurate!

The young man in the drive thru is a total jerk! I had read the menu online so when I went to order a kids meal I asked for chocolate milk (like it says on the online menu). He told me «this isn’t Jack in the box». He also mumbled the whole time and seemed annoyed that we asked for a kids been rice and cheese, he pretended he didn’t understand what we were saying and then said «ohh you want the BRC burrito». But still ended up giving us a chicken meal instead of the burrito. He didn’t say one word to us except an eye roll when we told him the order was wrong. He was so rude and made the whole experience very uncomfortable.

Came to El Pollo Loco to pick up some chicken for my Mom and the rest of the family for lunch for Mother’s Day.
They didn’t open until 11 am on Sunday so we got there 5 minutes before they opened. I parked right in front of El Pollo Loco. My husband walks in right at 11 am.
I wait in the car while my hubby and daughter go inside and order. My husband orders the 16 piece chicken that comes with drumsticks, thighs, etc. The family pack comes with tortillas, rice, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, and an array of salsas. I liked the chicken, but it was pretty burnt on the outside. I did enjoy the sides. I enjoyed the warm tortillas and the rice. Mashed potatoes were okay. It was too soft. Gravy was a little clumpy. The salsas were pretty good. I just wish their chicken wasn’t always burned on the outside. I don’t really care for this place, but they offer other combo meals which I have tried and taste better than the chicken. There is plenty of seating inside.
There is also a private parking lot in front. I don’t know if I would come here again unless my family request chicken from here.

Good, relatively healthy but fast food.
The chicken is grilled, so no unwanted transfats to worry about. Fresh salsa and stuff to spice up your lunch. Beats the heck out of a greasy burger sometimes.

I’m getting a little nervous after reading the last review from Portia K.
I came into this restaurant because I wanted something healthier than the usual fast food, which is one of my New Year’s resolutions, to eat healthier. I ordered a 2-​piece combo and all was good… until I took one of the last bites of my chicken thigh without paying attention. Something tasted a little off, so I looked at what I bit into and almost vomited. The chicken was not cooked all the way and it was obvious. Blood red. Just hope I don’t end up with food poisoning.

You guys seriously need to do some customer service training. The young man working at the drive through mumbled his whole way through the order, then when I got to the window did not greet me, hell, didn’t even look at me the whole way through the transaction. Just held his hand out for my card while looking in the back, then handed me my card back saying «you’re good». Receipt says «Angel B.» was the worker.
