Coach Ben Personal Trainer

When I exercised on my own in the past, I would gradually get stronger, but lost motivation and could never really re-​sculpt my body the way I wanted to. Under Ben’s personalized high intensity training regimen this past winter, I saw results faster than I expected! Every part of my body was firmer and tighter in just 2 month. I have slimmed down to my high school weight and my endurance is superb. I can handle heavier weights, faster runs, and longer workouts now.
What was unique about Ben’s training program was that my performance was based on my % heart rate during each workout. This was an excellent way of monitoring how hard I was pushing my body and maintaining healthy levels of high intensity exercise. Additionally, Ben’s system allowed me to train with others who may have been faster runners or stronger lifters because our success was based on how well we pushed ourselves — results for which were reported with heart rate monitors we wore. This friendly competition in a small group of friends under Ben’s guidance was truly motivational and helped us all achieve our goals.
Since Coach Ben understands that each person is unique and requires alternate considerations, I would recommend him to absolutely anyone who wants to learn how to be properly trained and motivated to exercise. For me, he understood that I am prone to injury and focused close attention on proper posture during my workouts, not just correcting me, but explaining on a musculoskeletal level why certain postures minimize injury.
His guidance has been exceptional and very professional. I hope to train again with Coach Ben because he is one of the most knowledgeable people about exercise, nutrition, and biochemistry I have ever met.

Coach Ben is AWESOME! I had the pleasure of training with him at Excel Fitness in La Jolla before it closed, and in the 6 weeks that he was my personal trainer (we met 3x a week) I saw definite improvements in my strength, endurance, and overall physique. What I love about Ben is that he’s personable and genuinely cares about you and your fitness. He’s not intimidating, is very patient, and clearly knows what he’s doing. He’d always have a helpful «soundbite» of information for me at the beginning of every session, either about fitness or nutrition, and occasionally brought in food demonstrations to show us some of the delicious and healthy things he eats — leading by example at its finest!
Additionally, Ben knows that the key to overall fitness is not rapid results, and was supportive of me if I was discouraged by the scale (it’s just a number! It takes time!), which encouraged me to work harder and keep the end goal in mind.
I recommend Ben to anyone looking for a supportive trainer who genuinely cares about their clients’ overall fitness and well-​being.
