There’s a new kettle corn stand at this farmers market! Easily, hands down, the best kettle corn I’ve ever had. Seriously! It doesn’t get any better than this. The combination of sugar and salt was perfect! I could smell it a mile away, the fresh corn, oh boy!

«She may be small, but she be fierce.» Maybe Shakespeare wasn’t referring to the CH Farmer’s Market, but he might as well have, because that quotation describes it PERFECTLY. This farmer’s market is teeny, but FULL of heart and some DANG.GOOD.FOOD. Hallelujah. They have a good selection of produce for a serious bargain, they have a reading circle hosted by SDSU Circle K, they have beauty products and clothes, and THEFOOD. Not only is my beloved City Heights Coffee House here(go there please), but they have papusas(hallelujah), east african food(amen and amen), american food, and more east african food. Each vendor is super friendly, and the location is ideal. It is a microcosm of many cultures and is a beautiful sample of the amalgamation of many cultures working together to share good things. I just love it. I highly recommend this farmer’s market to anyone! Tip: bring cash. They also accept EBT!

If you come a little later, most of their fruits and veggies will be sold out. Some of their stuff is cheap. There was a guitarist playing, I loved it! It was nice to walk around in the morning with so many smiling faces, food, music. It was just relaxing to me. I love the hand popped popcorn/kettle corn!

Finally got to come here. I really wanted to love this just because of how many times I’ve been around it. However, I was really disappointed at the lack of fruits/vegetables. There’s definitely not a lot. There isn’t really a wide variety either, but what there is is indeed fantastic fruit and vegetables. I bought great looking kale for only $ 1, some amazing lettuce for $ 1.50. The avocados are very cheap and large for such a small price. I also purchased some honey sticks which were phenomenal. I may or may not have bought 24. They’re 5-$ 1 but he said since there was two of us… 6-$ 1 :) thank you honey man! I also got a little plastic jar of the wildflower honey. My brother and I also tried the sambusa because I’m on a smabusa kick lately. The spinach was good and the cream cheese was amazing. The people are very nice here and like to talk about their food. I’ll be back either way, if only for just the sambusa

I think this farmers market is smaller compared to some of the others, but still a great one. They accept cash EBT and I think debit/credit too, but don’t quote me on that last one. They even have a bike repair station where guys are tuning up peoples bikes. Try the sambusa!

This place ain’t bad. It’s been around for a few years now, but has trouble picking up steam like the other San Diego Farmer’s Markets. The summer has been busy so far, so that’s good. They accept EBT cards so that’s great for the folks that wanna get fresh fruits and veggies. The new super market is gonna open up soon, so that will probably slow things down again. I hope this market keeps growing. It you want asian veggies, this is the place to be. Bikes del Pueblo also sets up a spot here.

This Farmers Market is a real jewel. If you’ve never been, come out and give it a try. The fruits & veggies are quite reasonable compared to supermarkets & other farmers markets around town. I’ve noticed more regular vendors over the past year. My favorite vendor is the Pupusa Stand. My advice is to get there early to avoid the crowd! If you don’t, please bring your patience. The lady that is in charge of this market takes pride in making sure it stays clean and is always open for suggestions.
