This review is for their market stand at the Mira Mesa High School farmers market on Tuesdays. I had the chicken BBQ skewers and pancit. The chicken smelled kinda fishy and had no marinated taste except what was smothered on the outside. Also the quality of chicken was a disappointment. I’ve never had BBQ chicken with so much cartilage that was inedible. As for the pancit, it was dry and tasteless. As if it was cooked the day before and was set aside to be sold the next day. I’ve been to their restaurant and the food looks unappealing. Everything looks dark and sitting for hours with all the oil floating to the top as if the food is swimming in fatty oil. I think most of their business comes from the High School Farmers Market on Tuesdays since there’s no other competition. Good think Mira Mesa has so many other better choices when it comes to Filipino food.

I actually love eating Chibugan’s food. The service is fast only because the restaurant normally isn’t busy when I go. If you love eating fatty parts of your meat than Chibugan is your place. My favorite is the fried pork skin, even though gemmae is around the corner, I would still go to Chibugan because the service is faster and some food is better. The service is a hit or miss depending on when you show up. Sometimes the food is cold, but I’ve never had a stomach problem or anything from this place. It’s cheap food, good taste, and pretty good decent size of food.

I got a diarrhea after I ate the food they delivered to Qualcomm. Quite frustrating.

Just take my advice. Dont you ever buy a so called«chicharon bulaklak» here. Tha food looks delicious but it taste like left over. Too oily and the raste is disgusting. I ordered a fried pork guts here yesterday amd I thought the quality is good but im upset, I suggest to visit Valerios Bakery they also offer asian food way better than this place overall not recommended… eventhough the owner or server is kind and friendly. but when it comes for the taste. I I should say they need a cook. So this asian food place is a failure definitely NOT recommended

Warning, do not eat at Chibugan’s farmer’s market stand. I would give negative stars if I could. They are so slow and unorganized. We were waiting in-line for at least 10 minutes and when we finally got to the front of the line the stupid, idiot worker kept taking other people’s orders who would just walk right to the front of the line, completely ignoring us. We didn’t get to order and just went to the Thai place a couple stands down. I use to go to the actual Chibugan restaurant all the time but never again! You can get better service and better food at Tem’s, Cristy’s or any other Filipino restaurant in Mira Mesa. Shame on that dumb, idiot woman.

Pretty damn good. Everything was fresh and ready. I was hoping for more of a selection but they have a solid one. The adobo chicken is my favorite. They had a spicy pork I can’t place the name but a little too fatty for my tastes, but pretty good. Good rice, price and service. Much better than anticipated going in.

This place is overpriced and everything looks like it’s been sitting there for a while. Lechon is okay, but it’s like $ 10.99 for 10 pieces! Everything else just looks kind of… brown.

Now I like to think of myself as a food connoisseur. I can’t say that I have eaten much filipino food and what I do eat is usually the best homemade stuff my filipino friends make. Anyhow, my very American family loves to have parties & we often order catering from Chibugan. The place is close to home & every time I go in there I am greeted warmly by either the owner or another lady who is really very nice. The catering prices are fair. & the Lumpia & Pancit is amazing. Always fresh & hot when we pick it up and they have yet to disappoint us! I can’t really comment on their restaurant food(hot metal pans behind glass buffet thing, if you want to call that a restaurant) but their Catering is spot on. Do call them for your next party if your having a island/filipino/luau type thing. =)

Been here once and the food was a disappointment. I went a second time to give it another try, just wasted gas to get here. The food is super dry. Perhaps it’s because nobody goes there and the food sits there for hours and hours at a time and all the usual goodness in a typical Filipino dish has… evaporated.

Clean 1 star Good food 1 star TFC on big screen 1 star Food cold –1 star Takes CC1 star Minimum 10 dol +.50 fee –1 star Food was OK. I got the chicken bbq and yes it was good and meaty but it was cold. So was the fried rice. It’s a good thing that I’m Filipino and have a iron stomach otherwise I would be in a world of hurt right now from cold food. I don’t see how they got a A rating just for that reason. They do take Card but there’s a minimum of 10 dol and they charge a .50 fee. I love the name, reminds me of my lolo, but I can’t give more stars for the name. If your looking for fresh bbq sqewers try Tita’s in national city. For the best pinoy turo-turo food in SD go to Valerio’s on eighth st.

When it comes to Filipino food, I’m pretty picky on how it is cooked and seasoned. My mom introduced me to this new restaurant that used to be the Eddel’s Bakery inside the Vinh Hung Supermarket. The new owner is one of my mom’s good friends. I’ve ate the food at this place quite a few times, but not have been inside the restaurant myself(because my mom always does take out). And I know I might sound biased here, but the food here is really delicious. I have not ate all of the side dishes, but I have not been disappointed with the ones I have ate. They definitely don’t skimp on the rice and side dishes, which most Filipino restaurants don’t do anyway. My absolute favorite is the bbq skewers. Some restaurants don’t even have the bbq skewers, which disappoints me. Those that do have it, cook it differently. The bbq skewers here are really loaded and cooked perfectly. Probably the most loaded out of all Filipino restaurants I’ve been to. It’s so nice to have another good Filipino restaurant in my neighborhood. :)
