My big sis took me here before it closed, and honestly, I’m not surprised that they closed. I mean, the food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything extraordinary either. They mixed up my big sis & my bagels — put my order on her bagel, and vice versa, so they had to fix it. The bagels themselves weren’t anything special, and the filling was just alright as well. Everything took really long, and their customer service wasn’t anything special either. Meh.

Would highly recommend this place. Came on a Monday morning and it was busy but not too busy. Just enough room for me to get my large coffee and study some grad school notes for an hour or so without feeling like I was intruding. The barista was sooooo friendly and kept asking me how I was doing, if I needed anything, etc… very uncommon for a coffee shop. I had a chocolate chip bagel with plain cream cheese(homemade) and their house coffee. Only set me back $ 6. I was staying at the Marriott Marquis on the bay and it was a very pleasant walk from my hotel to the place. Great location right in downtown San Diego. No frills but a great find.

Avoid no matter how hungry you might be! I ate here with a group of 8. The place is extremely understaffed and can’t handle more than a few customers at a time. I stood in line unable to place an order since their kitchen was so backed up. They ran out of turkey and served me a sandwich with sausage instead without asking. It took them a while to figure out why it was screwed up and finally ran it by me. What I ended up with was a bagel sandwich that was hard as a rock! I had to squeeze the bagel to try and make it easier to bite and chew. It wasn’t just me, my entire table an party had the same experience. No second chances on this one.

I really want to like this place — especially since it’s the only«bagel shop» walking distance from me. But they are making it really hard for me. Let’s start with the acai bowl that I gave this place 3 chances to make. Each time I got acai soup. I decided to forego acai here — I leave that to Lion Coffee(they make a killer acai bowl) — and decided to give them a chance with the bagels. The employees were nice enough — but the manager had a serious attitude problem. Does he not want my business? I am quite sure they sell bagels at Lion Coffee too. Lose the attitude or you will lose yet another customer. On a side note. .. when I have to stand in line for a bagel, stand in line to pay for a bagel, and stand at the counter to get my bagel — please don’t expect me to tip. Since I posted this — I decided to give Lion Coffee a try for bagels. Wow!!! much better bagels that Bagel Club Marina. And — they are a block closer. If you are willing to experiment, give Lion Coffee a try — you may be very pleasantly surprised!

Sorry, not a fan. We ordered bagels with cream cheese and a egg and cheese sandwich and literally got the thinnest layer of plain cream cheese I’ve ever seen, and such a thin layer of egg on the sandwich that I could only taste the bagel. This place should be packed on a Saturday morning but predictably was almost completely empty. Def need to offer more than 3 flavors of cream cheese to call yourself a «bagel store.» This was more of a coffee place that has bagels.

This business is a great example of why certain people should stay out of the food business. No pride of ownership coupled with business ineptitude is a recipe for failure. The only thing good about this place are the bagels which are made elsewhere by another company. The owner should sell the place to someone who cares. Employees attitude are a reflection of all of the above. All the good employees have either left or been terminated.

I stop by every morning. The crew is fast and very attentive. Me personally, I love their Ethiopian mid roast coffee!

Stopped by on a busy Saturday morning about 7am for SDCC it was pretty busy, but the workers were nice and speedy service. the bagel flavors did not really stand out, just the usual you would find in a super market, and the menu is kinda odd, just a chalk wall on the side so you don’t really know what is available. i ordered an Asiago Bagel and Small coffee for about ~$ 5.50 not too bad of a price, but the bagel and cream cheese were nothing special, the bagel was plain they just added asiago cheese on the outside and cream cheese had no distinct stand out flavor like other pop up bagel joints. the bagel was also not even toasted like i asked… and it could not have been that they were busy and forgot because i was the last in line during my order. if im in the area and just want a quick bite, maybe. wouldnt go out of my way or even consider it though

I decided to hit up the Bagel Club for breakfast one morning since it was a hop, skip, and a jump from my hotel. The interior is very bright and welcoming, with the menus on the wall and the bagel selects clearly laid out in a glass case just as you get inside the door. The guy behind the counter, a young man with stretched ears, offered his assistance when I looked a little puzzled with the menu. I finally selected a sun-dried tomato bagel with lox spread, and they had it right out to me in no time. The food was excellent. I’m used to the stale, tough bagels in a bag at the grocery store, but this was soft and warm with just the right amount of firmness. The lox spread was creamy, just salty enough, and had chopped green onions for some zing. I plan to return here tomorrow!

I’m a huge of bagels and when I saw the Bagel Club I was magnetized. Unfortunately, I won’t be joining the club because I found the bagels themselves to be lackluster. I can’t put my finger on it, but they were just missing something. Although I did enjoy the tea here, so I recommend that.

The first time we came here, I made the mistake of ordering one of the breakfast sandwiches off of the chalkboard on the wall. Basically, it was a toasted bagel, a meat and a cheese. Sounds pretty difficult to mess up, right? It was bland. There was hardly any flavor, even from the bagel, which should have at least imparted something for me to taste. I wouldn’t have gone back if it weren’t for the BOGO coupon from a Downtown magazine. We decided to give it another shot, and this time I went with one of the bagel sandwiches from the board above the counter. MUCH better! I got the Le Chevre, and my husband got the Foxy Loxy. Both sandwiches were delicious. I loved the bite of the goat cheese in mine, and my husband gushed about the lox and capers in his. So, win. The only thing about this place — other than the prices being a tad bit high — is that they run out of bagels and other items. A LOT. We’ve gone in at different times during the day, only to hear they’re out of this type of bagel, or they don’t have any lox, or they ran out of this ingredient. I get trying to order for what you’ll need in a day, but when you run out of something by 9 in the morning, someone’s obviously missed the mark.

Some of these employees need to get fired. I completely understand customer service can be stressful but this is ridiculous. Don’t expect a smile or a warm welcome from these folks. They are as miserable as anyone can get. I came here for the acai bowl which was good the first time i got it but not so good the second. This is the second time i am here. i cringed at the thought of ordering and i was hoping that maybe today they were in a good mood. They weren’t.

I shouldn’t have such strong, positive feelings for a bagel place, but alas, I do. The Bagel Club’s bagels are excellent, and the sandwich combinations they are used for are also excellent. I went four times in three days, and tried something different each time. The smoked salmon is served in heaps on the smoked salmon sandwich. The tuna salad is flavorful. The chicken and roasted pepper combination is excellent. Overall, an entirely delightful place for breakfast or lunch, with a great product and friendly service.

I discovered Bagel Club on my second day in San Diego and frequented it during my whole trip! The bagels are huge, sandwich ingredients are super fresh, staff is great, and prices are low. I wish this place was in my neighborhood!

2.75, my blueberry bagel was soft and toasty but hub’s pumpernickel was not. The lox schmear was also the kind where the salmon is in bits and mixed with herbs and stuff. I kinda wanted the pure cream cheese and smoked salmon. So this wasn’t quite right on. Also they didn’t have fresh squeezed juices. You can order a $ 4 smoothie, but no fresh OJ, just bottled stuff. Bleh.

I like bagels, but I love these bagels! I came by here to get some bagels with jam and a freshly squeezed orange juice. I had the whole wheat, toasted, with a spread of butter and jam.( ) The bagels was wonderfully chewy an flavorful. They were top rate. The sweet butter and thick strawberry jam just lifted the toasted bagel to a higher level; a serious level of piquantness. The freshly squeezed orange juice was top rate too. It was well balanced between sweetness and acidity. It had a small amount of pulp. Great juice. It only cost $ 4.55. The people who work here are high energetic and friendly. Great price, great food, and great people and service equals 5 stars in my book. mUsT eAt BaGeLs HeRe!

We were greeted promptly upon entering. My boyfriend and I were the only people in line(12:30 on a Wednesday) but there were a few other people in the shop. We both ordered breakfast bagels. Mine was an everything bagel with turkey and swiss, his was a spinach bagel with ham and pepperjack. We also both ordered iced chai lattes, mine with 2% milk and his with almond milk. The bagels were delicious! I have never had such a good breakfast bagel. It was warm and fluffy, with the perfect about of toasted-ness. The eggs seemed somewhat precooked though which didn’t seem natural. The chai drinks were good as well. Nothing amazing, but good. The service was excellent as well. The people were very friendly and helpful. The bagels and drinks came out promptly and we hardly had to wait at all. The prices seemed reasonable too. They only lost a star because of how unatural the eggs seemed in the breakfast bagel. If they used naturally sourced meats or organic eggs/veggies this place would be perfect. That being said, the food was yummy and satisfying and everyone should try it at least once. I also really liked that they had a doggie water bowl outside and dog treats inside.

Found this place by accident, but glad I did. I’m not a fan of downtown clubs usually, but this is one I can get behind. Dishing awesome jalapeño and jalapeño cheddar bagels, I like getting jalapeño cream cheese to go with it for the full effect. The weekend employees are friendly and awesome, and it is becoming almost a routine to hit up Bagel Club every Saturday morning for my jalapeño fix.

One of the best clubs downtown! Easy to get into, never a cover, and the(coffee) drinks are pretty strong. Who needs Stingaree or F-F-F-Fluxx when you have the Bagel Club? There’s lots of options for their marquee carbs and cream cheeses alike. I’d rec the jalapeño and salsa spread for a bit of a spicy breakfast kick, and their egg salad for lunch is off the chain. The staff is really friendly, there’s free wifi, and some comfy chairs to lounge on while getting some work done. Like I said, best club downtown and minus the meathead bouncers.

Came here a few weeks ago w/some friends while looking for some breakfast place that wasn’t too busy(kinda hard w/it being Comic-Con weekend too), and we stumbled upon this place. It’s a small shop, but with enough room to dine in, a friendly staff, and a wide variety of bagels/flavored cream cheese spreads to choose from. I almost ended up getting a chicken salad, but then again, if their speciality was bagels, why not get bagels? I ended up with two(lol) which was quite filling, but I’m kinda glad I got two. First choice(which I ate second because it ended up being very sweet) was a cinnamon raisin with a honey walnut spread and it was very delicious. It was like having a dessert, but on a bagel! My other choice was a jalapeño cheese bagel with a regular cream cheese spread(very tasty!). Overall, I had a good experience here, and the prices were relatively cheap(less than $ 8 for both). Hope to visit again sometime soon!
