Christina is AWESOME! Years of experience — she’s not afraid of «thinking outside the box», she knows how to be daring, edgy, adventurous and look beyond what’s «normal». I have a modified bob that has intimidated people for many years, other stylists questioned it wondering if that’s really what I want, or I’d hear a lot «are you sure?» — not Christina — she saw the vision & jumped right in — holy snap! She nailed it! It’s been a really long time since people have complimented my hair but the other day I had FOUR compliments in one day!!! So relieved to have finally found someone that can be creative and and not afraid of trying something new & different, thanks Christina, you’ve acquired a life long customer!

Avoid Jason like the plague, really bad attitude and zero customer service. He did my hair and the next morning I noticed he missed a spot and I called to see if I could drop by to correct it — hung up on me!
Go somewhere else you don’t have to put up with that and pay money!

My friend and I found Jason through Unilocal and I’m so glad! He is an absolutely incredible hair dresser with a lot of experience and is has a great personality. When my friend moved downtown, we were looking for a new hairdresser. We are skeptical to try a new place, but Jason made us both feel so comfortable at our appointments. I have had dry and damaged hair for years and Jason has helped improve it drastically. He gives me regular cuts/​color and goes above and beyond to let me come in for additional conditioning treatments/​blowouts. His prices are very reasonable. Honestly, I look forward to coming in! I drive about 40 minutes from North County, but when I get there, Jason already has a glass of wine poured and ready. It’s relaxing, great conversation and I walk out with healthy, great looking hair. One of the things I really like best is that he is so accommodating. My friend and I both work and travel a lot for business and Jason understands that. He always makes sure to remind us about our appointments, changes when necessary and will even come in at 6 AM to accommodate! After seeing so many hair dressers over the years, I would definitely recommend him!

I walked in on a random Thursday afternoon and Christina was able to get me in right away for a blow out. She did a great job and I received LOTS of positive comments on my hair — probably because most of my circle is used to my giant messy bun as a result of my normal laziness. Christina was really easy to talk to and quickly got me a glass of wine to sip on during the blow out. No complaints — great service, beautiful results. Would definitely recommend (although I can’t say anything about cuts/​coloring, they all seemed to be on top of their game!).

Go to Christina!!! She is a magician for real. Wait till you see my photos. I’ve been following her for years and drive 3 hrs just to have her do my hair. She did a Japanese straightening several years back and it came out amazing!!! I have asked her to make me look like something and she always makes it better. You are in perfect hands with Christina you won’t be sorry

Vicki Bowman did an amazing job on my cut and color! I love it! I highly recommend her for coloring your hair, she’s very talented!

Okay so first off let me start by saying I’m new to San Diego and on top of leaving my current hair dresser from my old home town, I had to find a new one. I usually put off getting my hair done because my anxiety of hair salons and someone new I just met doing my hair, isn’t my ideal situation.
With that being said, I decided to check out a shop downtown called Crimson chic, loved how clean the salon was and how friendly everyone was. I decided a few weeks later to give a call to them, I was told Victoria would be doing my hair.
Victoria went up and beyond what I could call a regular visit to a hair salon, she was absolutely wonderful and had so many ideas and different ways to color my hair and proceeded to show me pictures to make sure we were both on the same page. She does her research on what’s in right now to give you even more ideas to make your hair gorgeous.
I decided I wanted to do a reddish brown color with blonde in my hair. Victoria takes her time making sure every spot of your hair is colored correctly and makes it as if it’s a work of art, which I can truly appreciate.
After we finished, I liked my hair but after a few days decided maybe it had too much blonde. I called her to ask if there was any way we could fix it, she got me in right away and redid more reddish brown in my hair and now I’m in love with it. The best thing was she didn’t even charge me to fix my hair, even though I offered. She told me she just wanted to make sure I was 100% satisfied with my hair which I absolutely am. The cut is perfect and she even is able to keep my length! No hair dresser has ever been able to do that!
If you’re looking for a down to earth person who is easy to talk to and has a wonderful vision with hair, who also cares about your satisfaction with her work I highly would recommend Victoria.

Super nice place! Marian is an absolute pleasure to work with and the place is beautiful. They will give you nothing short of exactly what you want. I always look forward to coming here. They won’t let you leave unsatisfied.

Victoria Bowman is the BEST hair dresser I’ve ever gone to!!! I started going to Victoria in 1989. I’ve gone to other hair dresses but always go back to Victoria! She is an amazing colorist and stylist! I always get compliments on my hair. I HIGHLY recommend her.

Great experience! Most of us have had the tedious task of trying to find a replacement for their hair stylist whether due to a recent move, retirement, etc. After reading all of the positive reviews on Unilocal,I felt compelled to give Crimson Chic a try. From the quickly returned call by the charming, professional owner Jason, to the friendly, talented stylist Christina, I was greatly impressed. Loved the scalp massage! And love, love, love the color and cut!!! Christina is also an expert on hair extensions. I will be coming back.

I am here at my favorite salon! My favorite hair dresser, Jason, just got back from his yearly vacation in Cyprus and London. He is Really Tan! As always Happy and Enthusiastic about styling my hair. You must come and experience this Wonderful Salon, you will Not be disappointed!

Great experience! I called them, hoping to walk in a fun get my hair cut with no hassle and they made my dream come true. Upon walking in, everyone greeted me and learned that Christina would be doing my hair. I told her what I wanted to do (basically a «grown up» undercut meets A line) and that I would be open to her putting her spin on the style. We spoke and I could tell I was in good hands the whole time.
There are people who simply cut hair and there are those who take to another level and treat it like a craft or an art form; Christina is a proper artist.

Crimson Chic the salon itself is gorgeous, very clean, and well decorated. It’s in a great location in San Diego. Jason Brandler the hair designer that works there is super nice and friendly. I honestly would give Jason 5 stars. It is simply the best salon I have been to in a long time. I LOVE this salon! I would recommend this salon to everyone.

After walking by this salon almost everyday and receiving a friendly wave from one of the owners I decided to go in and get a quote for highlights and a cut. I am so glad I did because I received the best care from Jason! His prices are so reasonable and he goes above and beyond to get you the results you want! In 2006, having lost 50 lbs and turned 50 the same year, I was ready for a makeover. I’d recently seen a great review for Jason in Allure magazine, so made an appointment and when in with a photo of a cut I admired. I went in a slightly frumpy (albeit slim) middle-​aged woman. When I left, no one would call me frumpy, nor would they think of middle age when looking at me– just CHIC! Went from mid-​neck pageboy to an exceptionally well cut and modern pixie cut. Jason has told me he loves cutting short hair – he considers himself a sculptor. The results show it. Sometimes I think he cuts each hair on my head individually! Six weeks later, the cut still has its shape. Since Hollywood has recently made the short cut trendy, I suspect that I’ll be very grateful I book my appointments with Jason a year in advance. He’s the master of the short, sleek, chic haircut!

I’ve been coming to Crimson Chic since the first week it opened its doors! I second B.F.‘s comments about Jason’s world-​class talents. I spent 4 years living in Europe and chose to fly back to have Jason cut and color my hair. He really has a talent for picking the perfect hairstyle for one’s face. I absolutely love his highlights. I also love how warm and welcoming Sean and Carl have been over the years. It has been a pleasure getting to know Vicki and Marion as well. If you are looking for a great cut and color, give Jason a call. He’s even been known to come in an do a cut and color in the wee hours of the morning if you ask nicely :)

My colorist and haircutter changed careers so for the first time in many years and I found myself in search of the perfect cut and color. I lived in NYC for twenty years before moving to San Diego so my standards are pretty high: sleek, chic, and stylish. I have had the great fortune of having many a star cutter in NYC cut my hair over the years. My hair is very fine and I have been made into the dreaded mushroom head more than once. Not here. Wow. Was I ever thrilled. I can’t tell you how wonderful Jason is – just such a special artist. My hair looks fabulous. He listened to me, gave his great input, and the result is some of the best hair I have ever had. Deep brown with hints of red and blonde highlights for me. So, so pleased. Been singing since I left the salon. Don’t hesitate to book with him. You will be thrilled I am certain.

I Love it here. overall everyone is very nice, great atmosphere. I personally see Jason, he’s excellent. The first time I’ve ever found some one who does not push «extras» on you. He takes the time to do it right. He goes for what you ask, yet has great suggestions and great results. I would not go anywhere else.
