In search for a yoga studio I can regularly practice at, I came across Akasha and I’m so thankful I did! Paige teaches a great Vinyasa 1 – 2 flow at Akasha Mira Mesa. She is super friendly and I love how at the beginning of class she asked if there were any areas I’d like to focus on. I’m very used to the structured classes at CP yoga so this was a refreshing surprise. I can see myself becoming a regular at this studio. Very happy to have stumbled across Akasha.

Cute Studio in Mira Mesa! I was really happy and excited to find that a yoga studio opened up in Mira Mesa so I’d have somewhere to go when I visit my parents in San Diego. The studio is simple and the space is very calm. There is lots of light since one wall is made up entirely of windows and it’s also situated on the second floor towards the cluster of restaurants in the corner of the plaza. There aren’t any mirrors which may or may not be your preference. If I recall correctly, one of the teachers told me the studio has been open for about a year and they’d like more community members to practice. The studio is very clean and you can borrow their mats for free. They have a deal for new students which is a great way to test different forms of yoga and find which teachers you really connect with. Attending yoga in a small studio is radically different from classes in a gym so I highly recommend trying this place if you’re curious about practicing. I was a little confused by the online schedule as it seems like it combines both the La Jolla and Mira Mesa studio times in one long list. I would check out the schedule they have posted outside their studio to get the exact times for each class. I’ll definitely be back here when I visit home!

I just went yesterday to a Vinyasa class using classpass, and I loved it. I was a bit worried because I’m out of shape, but the lady leading it was wonderful and gave numerous options for movements and was nothing but awesome and supportive(thanks Pearl!) The studio was small but clean and peaceful. I absolutely would recommend checking this place out. I got a great workout and felt great afterwards.

If you are tired of over-crowded yoga classes, Akasha Yoga in Mira Mesa is the perfect place for you. My first 3 classes here consisted of a maximum of 3 people. Most recent class had 7 people. I think this is GREAT since you get personal help from the instructors. Before each class, the instructor would go around and ask the students if there was anything in specific they wanted to work on. I have not once had a bad experience here… I would recommend this studio to anyone!
