BUYERBEWARE! VERYSHADY! Found this guy on Craigslist for electric work on autos. Talked a good game on the phone but my red flags were going off. He is supposed to be mobile but asked me to meet him at a business. Lots of red flags that I ignored… like he forgot we had an appointment when I called to confirm. Anyhow, when I got to the meeting place which turned out to be a storage place he wanted the money up front $ 85. Then he went and got a small cardboard box of tools and some water. I had to meet someone so I cut out. When I got back he had everything in my hatchback(where my battery is) all over my car — it was a mess! Turns out he put water in my battery and said my cars problem was a bad battery and I needed to replace it. I said that didn’t cut it — that the rear bulb was blowing out ever week and there was something wrong in the wiring. He put an ohm meter on the battery and said whatever the numbers were proved it was a bad battery but that he had put his distilled water(that was in a plastic bottle of water — the same one I had in the back of my car when I arrived which he then took away with him. I couldn’t wait to get away from this guy… he just kept going all over again over and over why it was the battery. Did I mention yet that I’m pretty sure the guy was living at the storage place and had no vehicle to be mobile. Very sketchy. Later I took it to an electric automotive shop. In 10 minutes the legit guy had traced the problem to a bad part where the bulb attaches, replaced it and on my way for $ 25. My battery has been working perfectly and has never had any issues. $ 85 and a lot of time down the drain on this scammer. This guy is a creep and a scam. Don’t go here if he still has the nerve to advertise on Craigslist.
