We need one downtown! Family owned and that comes through the high quality selection of nostalgic toys and super awesome games and brain teasers for a get at heart.

Again had the best experience this past week buying my kids Christmas presents. The owner knew all the best toys for my 2 kids. Love this place! Love that thru remember what I have purchased in the past.

Maaaaaan. I was born in the wrong decade. Screw Gem, My Little Ponies, Shira, Teddy Ruxpin, Pound Puppies and every single Barbie. Alright, so not really. My baby girl has some of my old *cough, vintage* 80’s stuff, but for new things — this is the place. They have so many wonderful choices, separated by age/development, which is super efficient. So we have bought our Baby K a few puzzles by «Melissa and Doug» and a wonderful ‘My First Pet’ set. We also recently bought a few items to create a gift bag for a two year old’s birthday party. All in all, there are so many options here, from games that are SO guaranteed to make your kid a smarty pants, to games that won’t give ‘em the crazies if they take a chunk by a bite IE organic materials. All kidding aside, the place is clean, bright, organized and run by people who are so helpful and totally care. There are a few places for the kids to play and all in all, TZ makes for a great shopping experience. So much so, that we bought Baby K some toys and took them to the patio at Myron’s for Happy Hour, yes, we are THOSE parents. She was entertained the entire time.

For some reason I thought there was only a Toy Zone off 1604, but this one is conveniently located in the HEB Alon shopping center off NW Military and Wurzbach. The store is loaded with great items: a huge Thomas the Train collection, Legos and Little People sets, a whole wall with construction trucks, a bath play section, board game aisle, books, dolls, puzzles, action dress up, and the best is a wooden train and marble table that the kids can play with in-house. The whole store is just precious and it’s really difficult to make a decision on what to buy. I even found a mini disc golf set(with the caged basket and everything!). If you don’t have fun in this store check your pulse something’s wrong.

We love(love!) this store. The employees/owner are always so very nice and helpful. I love that a lot of the toys focus on aspects important to learning and growth, yet are still so much fun! I love that the prices are reasonable. Overall: Highly Recommend!

As I’ve noted before, I have some awesome nieces(and now a couple nephews on the way!) for whom I like to buy presents. Toy Zone is one of my favorite local spots in San Antonio for this, and I recently discovered this location. They have all the same great toy options as the other location. Everything from cool retro toys to educational options, but all that stay in a really fun realm that I appreciate. On a recent trip, it was noted to me by my friend that I should only worry about being the cool aunt and not worry about buying something that might be boring but could make the kids smarter. I’m not so sure I agree with that sentiment, but was impressed that at this store I could be either the cool aunt to the kids, or the cool sister to their parents for buying something educational that didn’t make an annoying amount of noise. But, just for good measure, I bought something noisy this time around…

One of the BEST toy stores in the city. Excellent top quality toys. Earth friendly, American/European made toys. Great selection of wooden and educational toys. For Thomas and playmobil fans it’s a MUST! They have a new even bigger store on 1604 and 281
