The first thing you need to know, particularly if you are ordering for take out, is that the menu on Unilocal is not accurate. Too bad because I was fired up for the Thai House Chicken. Sounds yummy but they don’t have it. What we ended up with was sweet basil chicken, Pad Thai, and crispy spring rolls. All of which were way way above typical Thai restaurant stuff. The second thing you need to know is that it is spotlessly clean. The other reviews are all pretty much dead on. Try it. You won’t be disappointed.

We made it to the Thai House today… Although the server made a mistake on my husbands order, the food was great as usual… I think they made a few renovation inside the restaurant. We only stop by when we are in town, so it’s been several months since we ate here and the place looked a little different to me, lol… They had new servers also, and you have to ensure they wrote down your order correctly, if not you would be saying, «I didn’t order that», LOL… Anyways, the was still great and the servers are still smiling, despite of the minor errors, which is great!!! That won’t stop us coming back…

MISSION: Lunch — Location: San Antonio — Menu: Not BBQ! Thai House fit the bill and then some! A fresh, tasty, and more than worthy lunch menu. Some of the best Pad Thai we’ve had in awhile and another dish featuring sautéed noodle dish(forgot the name ;o) with cabbage, broccoli, and additional veggies. OMG, GREAT! These items were on their special lunch menu that included a light chicken broth soup, un-greasy spring rolls. and large portions. All for a good price! We’ll definitely be back before leaving. You’ve GOT to try this place, you’ll be glad you did! Note: Not too fancy outside, but well appointed inside!

Diamond in the rough. Exterior is less than impressive, but the food was fresh, and delicious! The service was fantastic! The price was reasonable. You won’t be disappointed. I had Chicken Panang Curry and Blanket Shrimp.

THEBEST Thai restaurant in San Antonio. If you are daring enough to venture past boring old pad thai, Thai House is the place to do it! Highly recommend the variety of curries, Isaan papaya salad, and the tod mun pla(fried fish cakes). Green curry is my absolute favorite, and they really do it well. I’m sitting here reminiscing about those perfectly cooked green eggplant chunks, crunchy bamboo shoots, and the yummy balance of spicy, sweet, sour, and salty that I LOVE about Thai cuisine. They definitely hit the nail on the head with the balance of flavors in their curries. So good, I may have to toss this into my top 3 restaurant finds in San Antonio – an excuse to visit more often! The Isaan papaya salad is quite the surprise. Other than back home in California, I have never found a place daring enough to put pickled crab into their papaya salad, which is my favorite preparation of authentic Thai papaya salad. So so good! And lastly, the tod mun pla — not, mind-blowing, but still worth getting if you think you have room for a little something else. Thai House does not look like much on the outside, but inside is where the hidden treasure is! Don’t hesitate to come here. It’s 110% worth it!

I was craving noodles and while driving around, I somehow ended up here. Being dressed like a bum, I ordered to go. They told me 15 – 20 min, so I paid and went to sit in my car. 10 min later, the man who rang me up is in the parking lot walking up to my car with my food, even though I told him I’d be back in 15 min. And the Pad Thai is delicious! Everything about this place felt authentic. I’ll definitely be back!!!

Everything you read about the food and it being 5 stars is most definitely true so I’m not even going to go there. Instead I’m going to touch upon their service. Being close to SAMMC and having a limited lunch hour I was worried about time. Especially, when the parking lot was packed! Again though, packed parking lot just speaks volumes about the food. We were seated right away and given a soup immediately! I couldn’t believe at how fast and efficient everything was. Our food came out right away and was piping hot but not in the sense of it was pre-made and heated in the microwave fast. Our waitress was very attentive and efficient. The service exceeded our expectations. Definitely a great lunch spot!

First, the food. Thai joys rolls were served slice with lettuce to wrap and dipping sauce. Amazing! Crispy little deliciousness. Next came a cup of soup. Simple rice and chicken. Perfect for a «cold» December day in Texas. The basil duck was prepared well, but had an overarching soy sauce taste to it. I am accustomed to a sweeter flavor from other great places. Not bad, just not what I was looking for. Busy on a Tuesday for lunch. People standing around outside waiting for a table. This seems like a normal occurrence since no one seemed upset about a short wait. This also indicated a good chance of a great meal since there were several other dining options close by that people could have left to eat at. Inside was a small dining area with a simple table/chairs set up. Nothin extravagant. The entire place probably seats about 60. Table turn was quick and food was atrium quickly. The staff was fast and attentive. Bottom line, I will be back to try other dishes. Great little gem hidden away from the busy and expensive downtown scene.

How is there such a good Thai place in the outskirts of San Antonio? We were driving up to Austin from Corpus and popped in. So surprisingly good. The portions were perfect, and the tofu was soft but not undercooked. I think this place is better than any of the Thai places in Austin. Yum!

We actually order d our food to go. We had never eaten there before but trusted the reviews. We were not disappointed. We ordered 4 dinners and a soup. We got home and the Togo containers were pretty high quality and reusable. The food was amazing! This is the best chicken pad Thai ever! My only complaint is that I asked for some spice and it was not spicy at all but the flavor was pretty amazing to make up for it. My family said their dishes were equally as amazing.

This is my favorite Thai food place. I’ve tried at least a dozen Thai restaurants between San Antonio and Phoenix(including Chandler, Mesa, etc.), and none of them beat Thai House, in my opinion. If you want reeeally spicy here, ask for«super Thai hot» and you can also ask for fresh Thai chiles if that’s your thing. You can also ask for fish sauce(I think that’s what they call it) and they’ll bring you a little dish to spoon it out onto your dish as wanted(go easy, it amps up the spice). If you like regular ol’ spicy, hot or medium will be good. Favorites are the Thai Fried Rice(beef or chicken), Pad Thai, and the Pad See Ew. The Garlic Beef, Red Curry, and the Panang Curry are also excellent. Lunch special is affordable, staff is always excellent, and very quick. Space is a little tight during the lunch rush, so get there before noon if eating for lunch. Lunch specials get a little bowl of soup and most lunch specials(if not all) come with a little egg roll. Which is actually one of my favorite parts of the meal(despite how good the dishes are). Final tip: try some Thai Tea if you’ve never tried it before.

Don’t let the outside fool you, the food is fresh, the presentation is superb and the service Devine. We had the chicken satay, angel wings, spring rolls pad Thai, fried rice, fresh summer rolls. Plus the tastiest fortune cookies !!!

The restaurant was pleasant from beginning to end. The food is delicious and the pricing is fair. The waitress did a wonderful job of ensuring the food and experience was all top notch. Speaking of the food, it is very difficult to find a place that has vegetables I will eat because I am picky but even the vegetables are good! I recommend this place to anyone craving Thai food!

The gem off Rittiman. I remember frequenting this restaurant back in 2008 when I was stationed at Fort Sam Houston. The only thing I could remember was that the food was good. Now that I’m a Texan, I decided to visit the Thai House and see if the food was just as I had remembered. Don’t let its outer appearance fool you. This place is very clean and nice on the inside. As soon as you enter your greeted by an excellent staff that is attentive to all your needs. We came in during lunch time and we received a complementary soup when they served our beverages. We ordered the Pad Thai and the Panang curry. They were both absolutely delicous, the Pad Thai wasn’t too greasy and had the right mix of sweetness and spiciness(I asked for it on the spicier side) and the Panang curry tasted extremely fresh and flavorful. The food was decently priced and will definitely come here again if I’m ever craving Thai food.

I love Unilocal!!!We were in San Antonio at a conference with only an hour for lunch and decided to try this nearby restaurant based on Unilocal reviews. The food was delicious, the price was right and we were back with time to write a Unilocal review!!! The restaurant looks pretty divey from the outside, but the interior was clean, tastefully decorated and very pleasant. We were greeted and seated immediately. I ordered the«Phad Pak» with chicken(L16 lunch special) which was a delicious mixture of bite-sized broccoli, green cabbage, snow peas, baby corn and chicken breast sauteed in a light but savory gravy. I opted for the fried rice which was just perfect. The BF ordered the«Phad Thai» sans vegetables(L1 lunch special) which was also quite tasty. Both dishes were served with a spring roll and the soup of the day which was a flavorful, light broth with tiny bits of chicken breast, sliced cucumbers and garnished with cilantro. We savored every last morsel of our delicious meal and look forward to a return visit!!!

Thai House is literally a hidden treasure! It’s not situated in the safest area in San Antonio but you walk in and you step into this lovely dining area. It almost has a modern theme to it. I went twice in the same week! The dinner portions are enormous and flavorful! On my first visit, my friend is allergic to shell fish and they were kind enough to offer to take out the fish in the spring roll. The rice paper spring roll was the best I had ever had, the filling was very well seasoned. We could have shared the chicken pad thai but at least we had lunch for the next day. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable(I love this!). I believe his name is Subin, he will help you with any questions or recommendations. My second visit, I brought my family and they agreed that it was the best Thai had ever had! Anything you order here will be nothing more than perfect!
