Excellent service. Staff is always friendly. Food is delicious, especially their indonesian bakmi goreng. Recently became gluten senitive, and they had no problem substituting the egg noodles with rice or crystal noodles. Food is very authentic.

Great little place local to us. I love Thai food and my husband doesn’t. We went here for lunch, can’t beat their specials for lunch free iced tea, cup of soup, cup of salad, 1 small appetizer(we chose individually egg rolls yum and super fresh!) and a lunch dish! They range #1−6 in levels of spicy. We ordered the cashew chicken #4 spicy and he got the broccoli beef #2 spicy. Very delicious! My husband loves this place like I do now and he said he will order #3 spicy next time for the perfect spicy for him. We will have to try this for dinner in the future. Cute ambiance and simple, there is one TV in the place for entertainment, the staff and food are delicious! This is also great for lunch time if you are crunched for time.

My experiences have been great. I enjoy the staff a great deal. They are awesomely friendly. I live on the other side of town but, go out of my way to visit. Lunch when my schedule permits but, definitely dinner when I’m hungry for some awesome Thai food. It’s always a pleasure to visit and I always return with a smile on my face. I highly recommend to anyone that enjoys some awesome Thai cuisine.

Been a while since I’d visited my little piece of Thai food heaven. The owner’s are always friendly, attentive, and even sit with me to see how I’ve been. It’s like visiting with family and being served delicious food as a bonus. Always a great time for me. I just wish I could get off work earlier so I could come more often. Yum!!! Happy belly. Great laughs, and I even give my brother a pass for making obnoxious sounds while eating.

I wanted to add this review since we also ordered delivery. Contrary to other reviews, we got our food in 40 minutes, a full 20 faster than what was projected when ordering. The food itself was«bad to good.» We had«Black Noodles» — thick noodles — with mixed seafood(good), red curry with beef(good) and two appetizers — chicken wings(eh) and pot stickers(bad — no discernible stuffing). So, a 5 for delivery, but the food brings the total rating down.

Tell my why. their service is so exceptional. The place was empty for dinner, so we lucked out and got great service. I don’t know How I feel about the lemongrass chicken. It was good but it was very soupy.(I don’t eat a lot of Thai food so maybe that’s why) The soup consisted of chicken, usual onions, lots of carrots? That was interesting carrots. They ask you before hand what level of spice do you care for. I-6 and I opted for 4. It was spicy enough for me but I still added more of the red pepper flake sauce and on the side a cup of white rice is served. So In all it wasn’t bad. You know how you know a restaurant is going to be good, their tea is fresh and there’s was!

Ate here for lunch today for first and last time. Lukewarm soup, god-awful fresh rolls, and greasy main course. Very low quality ingredients are used. Hope I don’t get the trots!

I usually always go to thai dee or sewasdee for thai food but since its sunday and they are closed, so i found this oplace on Unilocal and they deliver. So i said wow great! Since its new to me, i wanted to order the food that ive always had whenever i go to thai place, tom yum and sweet and sour chicken! I had to throw out the soup. The taste was bad and way tooooo salty. And the sweet and sour chicken, instead of breaded like at any other places, they have their own version of sweet and sour chicken. Its basically just deep fry chicken in small pieces with their own version of sweet and sour sauce. I wanted to put it together with the soup in the trash but my 6vyear old daughter ate it anyway. The spicy beef was new to me so i cant really compare it with other places. The taste was not bad and was not great either. A bit pricey tho for low quality appetizers. Overall, in MYOPINION, this is the worse thai place ever! If your gonna pay for that kind of price, better go to thai dee or sewasdee. They are the best!

I love Thai Basil! I’ve never eaten in the restaurant only pick up, their spring rolls are light and tasty… Pa nang Curry w/red sauce is so damn tasty. Tofu is my protein choice but I’m sure the other proteins are just as delicious. This is my go to place in medical center area.

Was really excited to try a Thai place since I just moved here and have to say it was not the greatest experience. Ordered off the Unilocal app and did not receive my food until about 2 hours later when the latest they said would be an hour. Contacted Eat 24 an hour and a half into waiting for my food and they said they would be there in 5 minutes. They were here in 30 minutes. Got my food and it’s ok. I got the orange chicken and veggie pot stickers. The pot stickers were super tiny and the chicken was soggy and tough once I got it. Not very happy at all.

Total bust, really disappointed. Ordered four items and the only redeeming entrée was the green curry strictly for flavor. Meat was sparse as were the frozen peas/carrots and bamboo within. App combo was meh, shoomai were good, dumplings were flavorless and filled w/dry ground chicken. Egg rolls were ok. Basil eggplant was weird. Veggies on the bottom w/brownish sauce, ground chicken sprinkles over veggies with breaded eggplant on top. Just aaight. Fried combo rice was more sweet than anything. Staff was nice! Would not recommend.

I’ve only ate here twice and ordered the pad Thai and the pad Thai is very good perhaps they are the only Thai restaurant in San Antonio that includes raw cabbage on the side of the pad Thai which is what I look for in a good pad Thai. Both times that I’ve been here they are un-organized multiple people coming to the table asking for our drink and food order. But since their pad Thai is the best one so far I will be back.

–10 stars. Worst delivery experience ever!!! No customer service. They claimed that they knocked on my hotel room door and I didn’t answer. I was there the entire time. Plus, it’s a hotel… Leave it at the front desk and it would have gotten to me. Instead, they canceled my order and I didn’t know about it until I called them. Seriously rude and unprofessional. Don’t believe the good reviews– it’s total hype. You’re better off ordering from a 2 star restaurant than this place. Bad form!

I placed an order for delivery around 12:25 through the Unilocal app. The estimated delivery time was around 1:30. Two rolled around and i hadn’t received my order, but the customer service rep from the app said the order was on it’s way and the restaurant offered a free appetizer. It gets to be about 2:45 and still nothing, so I contacted customer service again and was told that in addition to the free appetizer they were throwing in three desserts. I was really appreciative that they were going out of their way to do that. When the food did get delivered around 3, the driver was apologetic and the food was good, but there were no desserts like they said there would be. The curry was really good, but the experience was not a good one. If i do eat there again it will be in the restaurant. I will never order delivery from them again.

Great Thai spot that I just discovered today! The location is pretty ideal, right at Fredericksburg/Callaghan. The place is pretty clean also. The booth seats are covered with pillows which gives it a nice homey feeling. For $ 7.95, you cannot beat the lunch specials that they have. They have plenty of entrees to pick from(I’ll talk about that shortly). Plus included in the price is a soup, small salad, appetizer of your choice(egg roll, rangoon, potstickers, spring rolls, etc), and a tea! I went with the Pad Thai, I am not too adventurous yet when it comes to Thai, however, I am a huge Pad Thai fan! I chose spicy level 2. Overall, it was fantastic! It wasn’t dry, like I’ve had at other places. And it wasn’t too spicy. It was perfect! Service wasn’t too bad. They were friendly and accommodating overall. Highly recommend if you are interested in a good Thai restaurant!

I think San Antonio has some excellent Thai and today was my first time here. I would put it in the second tier. Had the panang curry and it was tasty but I am not a big fan of heavy peanut-flavored curry. Was a little thicker than expected and the rice was quite sticky. The crab rangoon was tasty but not too much of a crab taste. Salad was crisp and dressing was excellent. Soup was good, as was the service. But the spring rolls left something to be desired. They had some kind of cream cheese filling and the wrap was not your typical spring roll wrap; not sure what it was but it was not tasty. Left ¾ on my plate

The restaurant was empty when we arrived there around 7pm! Low quantity for a restaurant that seems like it needs to pull in business! I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp and yellow chicken curry! The drunken noodles were flavored really well however the noodles themselves were undercooked and hard to chew! The chicken curry was just stuffed with vegetable and barely any protein! To the hotel staff I strongly suggest keeping your protein quantity at least the same level as your competition around the area! The server was really nice and suggested different changes I could make since I don’t eat meat for lent!

Currently my go-to restaurant for thai food in the medical center + surrounding area. I have had several tasty dishes from here. Their pad thai is decent, not the best I’ve had but good. It’s a little less flavorful and more plain than I like my pad thai. The drunken noodles are my favorite. They are heavy on the flavor and the noodles are cooked properly. Nice and soft without being overcooked, with a nice char on it from being cooked with proper technique on high heat. One thing I really like about this restaurant and this dish in particular, is that they don’t skimp on the shrimp quantity. I love my thai noodle dishes with shrimp, but usually its absurd how much you end up paying at other restaurants only to get 4 – 5 shrimp in your entire entrée. This place avoids that, and you feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. That goes for the amount in general as well, the portion size is great for how much you are paying. Like most thai places, this place does suffer from the unpredictable spice level scale. I’ve gotten a 4⁄6 and had it burn my mouth off my face, and I’ve gotten a 6⁄6 and had it taste basically void of any spice. I’d ask twice when you specify your spice level. Another thing that I have experienced on takeout only: the fried rice dishes tend to be very soggy by the time you get home, because they use plastic snap-on containers which leave no room for steam to escape. This leads to a buildup of condensation that drips onto the rice and it really does become soggy. The containers are fancier than your average styrofoam, but I actually think they’d do better just using the styrofoam ones.

Poor service, waited 20 mins for my food, nobody cared to even come ask. when I approached them, the lady was like what did you order. usually going for lunch menu means they should at least bring the soup, so a person can start eating. I had to end up leaving sipping on my free icetea. On top of that they charge crazy… I did love their food. I won’t be going back. They had enough people to manage but pathetic ignorant service.

Ordered the spicy noodles with chicken to go. What a disappointment, the positive reviews here are not close to what I experienced. The chicken had a freezer burnt taste, it was not fresh and ended up throwing out the meal.

Went for lunch and got the lunch special. They brought soup and it wasn’t Thai, more like chicken noodle soup out of a can. I ordered the pad-see-ew, which I have had at 20 other Thai restaurants, and they asked me the spice level. I said a 2⁄5 which was a milder choice. The food comes out a 7, so goddamn hot even this would leave Thai people crying for cold ice water. I couldn’t even take but a few bites before my mouth was burning and I knew my ass would be burning if I ate it. Conclusion: Sucks. There are too many other Thai places to go to and this one won’t be making the cut again. Yaya’s a half a mile away is better if you must choose.

My favorite Thai restaurant to eat in SATX! The atmosphere feels very private and cozy, like you have the place to yourself. The service and staff are great. The food is delicious and always prepared quickly! It’s B.Y.O.B. which is cool because not only does that save you $$$ but they offer to chill your drinks and serve them to you in chilled cups! Highly recommend!

Pot stickers very good, accompanied by standard molasses like sweet sauce with sesame seeds. The emerald soup is wonderful, lime leaf and something like galangal infuse the soup, beware not to bite or chew it. The bean and mushroom dish was with chicken and sprinkled with bacon atop. the brown sauce is just a little sweet and a bit garlicky, aged fish sauce to the chicken. yum, or as they say here,“Thai it, you’ll like it ;)”

Good food, good service, good price! Let me start by saying that the service here is great! Super kind and friendly waitresses who are happy to help you order if you don’t know what to get. Also, the food came out fast! There was free appetizers which included a small soup and salad. I ordered the pad Thai level 4 spicy. I would say go up a spice level if you like spicy because a 4 was not spicy at all. That being said, the flavor was great and not too sweet! Portion size was perfect for me, but it’s smaller than other places. The dish did come with a choice of side though! I got the crab cream puffs which were pretty good, but I would definitely try a different side the next time I go. I also feel like the price is great because you get the appetizers and sides with your meal. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a Thai restaurant. It’s close to the medical center too!

Definitely is worth a stop of you are in Med center and you want good Thai food. This is my go to Thai place. The have great lunch specials– comes with soup, appetizer, salad, entrée & tea! Well worth the price! First– All the items were well made and very flavorful. Started out with a soup that simple ground chicken with celery and carrots. Simple but complex broth flavors. Hit the spot. Appetizers were brought out– my spring roll was nice and hot and my friend was having the dumplings — we split them so we could have a taste and boy were they yummy. I am not a fan of the cold rolls. Small salads come with your soup or shortly there after with a tasty dressing. My meal was spicy even at a 3. They don’t mess around with the heat because it is spicy! The only thing that my dish was missing was a little more protein(chicken) but flavor was– spot on. The pad Thai my friend had was light which is sometimes unusual for pad Thai, but this one was which is a nice suprise. Recommend the drunken noodles. No one can really explain why they are called that but hey that’s their name. I had their pad ven sen– delish! Their thai soups– yum! Ok I go very often. I’ve taken coworkers, family, friends– gone by myself. I really, really like it. So hopefully you will like it too! I love supporting local family owned businesses.

I’ve been enjoying Thai Basil’s deliciousness since they opened under new ownership from the previous owners, and I have been impressed at every turn. The food is amazing. I’ve had nothing but the best service whether I come in alone or with a big party of friends and family. It’s BYOB for those of you that prefer to pair your special tastes with whatever you order off the menu to delight your pallet. There aren’t enough superlatives to describe how fresh, flavorful, and supremely tasty everything on the menu actually is. It’s got something for everyone. Even my very finicky nephew inhales his food and searches the table for any potential underachieving eaters that will willingly(or unwillingly) accept his help to clean their plate. Seriously, this kid eats like a bird at any other restaurant. If you enjoy Thai food you will not be disappointed, and the inviting atmosphere, coupled with the«sit anywhere you like» greeting, makes for some very happy faces and some extremely pleased bellies. I won’t say how often I visit them in a week, let’s just say I do go through withdrawals rather quickly. Get in there already. That Crystal Noodle isn’t going to eat itself.

We are moving away from SANANTONIO(to Florida) and are sad not to be looking forward to more of Noi’s excellent green curry and pot stickers. Spouse is a lover of her drunken noodles — and delighted that it is so easy to eat Gluten free. Owners Tim and Noi are delightful, hardworking people who love to go the extra mile for their customers. Wherever we land, restaurants are going to have a hard act to follow.

Perhaps I’ve found my new favorite place to get pad Thai. You can add duck to the Pad Thai! Now how amazing is that?! Heard through the Unilocal grapevine that the old Thai Pikul closed down and was replaced with this place, Thai Basil, so naturally I had to check it out. I was nothing short of pleased. The service was excellent and everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I started with the Thai tea, which was pure heaven, the eggrolls, which were crispy, fresh and full of goodness. I’m picky about my pad Thai because I’ve had it at so many different places across the US and most times it’s been mediocre. Thai Basil’s pad Thai was great! I loved it. It had the right flavor and the right look. Sometimes at other places it comes looking light brown and tasting like soy sauce. Just fyi it’s not supposed to taste like that. I liked Thai Basil. I’ll definitely go back. You must check it out!

I honestly didn’t expect the food to be this great the curry was delicious. We had a 5 course meal for lunch! It’s just the lunch special and it’s only $ 7. They are all small portions so you don’t leave completely stuffed. They bring you a soup, then a salad, then the appetizer, then your meal and of course we had dessert. The mango sticky rice is a must have, don’t ask questions just order it. Best sticky rice I have ever had! Loved this place!
