Came here to have lunch at 2 pm. As the lunch crowd left, the waitresses picked up all the left over chips and salsa and re-used them again(by placing them int he large oven warmer in front of he kitchen). Omg!!!

Love love love. I’m not a Mexican food person but omg! They have some of the best breakfast tacos in SA. The bean & Cheese is my favorite. Oh and by the way, their sweet tea will blow your mind. I also normally never drink sweet tea but it was soooooooooooooo good. No lie! Go here! Trust me.

I couldn’t love this place more. I’m from Corpus Christi and moved here two years ago. This place instantly felt like home to me. The staff is very friendly, the service is great and the food is even better! Tortas, carne asada, enchildas, tacos, charro beans– all so good!

I’ve eaten here for about 10 years. I actually wrote half of my first book in one of the booths there. I wrote several chapters of my second book there too. I will always have fond memories of eating breakfast(off the menu) every day with my father. We were like an episode of Cheers as we walked in and greeted all the regulars. Since my dad has been confined to an assisted living facility, I have curtailed some of my visits in the morning. Still, my 8 kids love to visit La Taqueria Rodeo Jalisco for all our celebrations. When my daughter comes in from Brooklyn, she wants to go there. On our last visit, we had to wait for a table. That was a first. As for the food, I usually order whatever I want. They can make almost any combination I throw at them. Get a load of this. I ask for huevos con nopal, machacado, tomate, light chile and some white cheese all scrambled up. Their tortillas are solidly delicious. Their soups are great, especially their Pozole. Unfortunately, they don’t sell Caldo de Pollo. I’ve begged Monchi’s the store general manager and she just won’t budge. She is a clean freak and a solid manager as she knows how to handle a full restaurant of demanding customers. I take my brood of 8 and get out without being severely wounded in the wallet too. It is a great value for the prices they ask for. Lastly, the waitstaff is seasoned. They’ve been there for a while and know their routine well. Tip them well and get to know them. I’ve had many business meetings there. I’ve dines with millionaires who wanted to get something authentic. It is both authentic and consistent. I don’t know how they’ve managed to taste like every cook they’ve ever had was the same person. They deserve to be thumbs-upped and five-starred.

This is an update on my December review — I’m downgrading it to a «3» which is still pretty good. .. I ordered the al Pastor plate. The rice was cold, as were the borracho beans — and the pork was so salty I couldn’t eat it. Spouse enjoyed his pork chops. One problem — the pre-meal chips were a mixture of wheat and corn, and from where we were sitting was hard to tell the difference. «We just mix them all together,» said the server, seeming unaware that this made a difference to some of us. Still, the corn tortillas were excellent and their various salsas wake up any sleeping taste buds you may have left. At $ 16 for two lunches, it was an OK deal. .. and Spouse will no doubt eat my left-over al Pastor.

This is one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants in town. They have hands down some of the best homemade corn tortillas in town. I know my corn tortillas and these are good, they aren’t store bought and they don’t fall apart when you pack them with food(which is the tendency for a lot of homemade tortillas). They also have beer and michiladas which aren’t that expensive. I love going here for breakfast with my parents and grandparents and being able to enjoy the good service with a smile and fast food.

Awesome migas! Great food, nice prices. A little slow on delivery, but it was packed. Be prepared to wait on weekends. So far the best mexican breakfast we’ve found.
