Where can I start. Ordered shrimp coctail. Other than the shrimp not being fresh, the avacado seemed processed. Cilantro was not fresh as well as the onions. Had to cancel the rest of my order. When I notified the waiter he argued that it’s made to order ha. Makes it worse.

Very Dissapointed!!! My husband & I hadn’t been here in years and had good memories of the crawfish & raw oysters so after a Drs appt in the area we came here for lunch. I ordered the oysters Rockefeller and salad w grilled shrimp. My husband got a fried oyster Po’boy, fries & cup of gumbo. From the top … The oysters Rockefeller was NOT oysters Rockefeller at all!!! There was literally no sauce on them AT all! They had a very small amount of spinach and small amount of cheese on them. Completely tasteless! I literally drenched them in cocktail sauce with horseradish to psyche myself out that I was eating raw oysters(but they were warm) yuck. Then comes my husband’s gumbo. That wasn’t bad. I’ll give them that. It was gone in about 6 spoonfuls, but not bad. My salad was next. Ummmmm, I would’ve made a better salad for myself at home! Absolutely NOTHING special about this salad except for the 3 grilled shrimp on it that made it an $ 8 salad. The croutons(of which there were 3) were also bland! No cheese, no vegetables, wait… There was tomatoes… Literally just lettuce, a few tomatoes, 3 shrimp &3 bland croutons. I savored those 3 shrimp as long as I could as it was the only decent part of what I ordered… Totally my portion of $ 21(be serious)… Mind u, my husband’s food was still not out. Finally his Po’boy came… Again, the dish absolutely looked like I could’ve made it myself. The French fries were something u would expect out of a microwave kid cuisine meal. Zero crisp to them. The oysters were meh. In the end we each had a beer, both tasted flat. We spent $ 50+ on a meal that left me extremely regretful that we wasted the money and time out on the sub par food.

I usually Jump-start my empty stomach with«Cajun Gumbo soup» along with cool beer, then my favorite yet delicious«Oyster». Crawfish Étouffée is a hot and spicy Cajun food, so it’s a great stimulus to my stomach whenever I lose my appetite. It’s a nice and comfortable seafood restaurant!

The crawfish are excellent, the oysters are excellent as well, the service is hit or miss. Please leave before 10:00pm or they’ll put the stools upside down next to your food, people have been putting their rear ends on these stools all day long. Is this allowable from a stand point of food establishment inspections? See the attached picture.

Tuesday/Thursday all you can eat shrimp — great value, but don’t come with a time limit. Service is slow, but be patient. Food quality is top notch. Great people watching… there is a group of regulars that are fun to watch/listen too. Again, great food, slow service. I’ll be back without a doubt.

Worst fucking service ever. Literally had us waiting an HOUR for a damned ticket! We got here at 2 and barely leaving at 5. Don’t get me started how long we had to wait for the food! And to top it off no one seemed to care.

I passed by this place for a good year before finally deciding to give it a shot, and I wish I had done it earlier. The place is in the shape of a boat, and when you walk in its an elongated bar. The whole waitstaff was very nice and accommodating to us. Not only were they patient, they even pulled a lobster out of the tank for my kid to see. We ordered the all you can eat shrimp, shrimp kabob, and a burger. The burger was a good size, and was juicy. I was surprised and didn’t expect that. The shrimp kabob came was a skewer with big shrimp, mixed with bell peppers and onions. Also, it came with broccoli, carrots, rice, and gumbo. The gumbo was decent, but the vegetables were the selling point. The shrimp I got fried. They piled the shrimp on top of a bed of fries. The selling point for me was that they were made fresh. When I wanted round two, they fried them up fresh again. The batter was seasoned which made it even better. A couple sitting across from us ordered the catfish, and they were huge. I asked them how they liked it, and they said it was really good. It was the whole catfish on the plate, minus the head and tail. All. In all, we will def be back.

It’s pretty easy to remember to write a negative review when you’ve been treated wrong because emotions are high. But, by the time you get home from a great meal, usually it is time to relax and check email, and there are not hugely compelling emotional reasons to remember to write a positive review. I am going to try to change that, and am starting with my favorite restaurant, Dry Dock. Dry Dock has been my favorite restaurant for 15 years because they consistently do seafood very well. They are always well-stocked on fresh oysters and all of my other favorites. The food is always good, and only once did I get service that was less than satisfactory. That was the fault of the server, and he was tipped accordingly. With the exception of the one guy who is no longer there, the staff is always on top of things, and your meal is always served up fresh and hot(or cold, depending upon what you order). The beer is good, the meals reasonably priced, parking is always easy and it doesn’t matter if you come in wearing shorts and a Tshirt. Admittedly, you will wait a little longer for service if you are at a table and not at the bar. All in all, Dry Dock has always been on the top of my favorite restaurants list.

Worst meal I’ve had in a long time. Oysters tasted rancid; ketchup sitting out on the counter in little cups had fruit flies swarming around it. Way too much cornbread breaking on the catfish and the oil was old that this was cooked in. Coleslaw was rubbery and flat. Nasty.

Beer: good. Gumbo: ok. I’ve had much better but also much worse. Cheeseburger: see gumbo. Fish po’boy: excellent! I’m not a fish sandwich expert, but this was Quite Tasty! I would go back for this fish alone. Service was good once I got them to open up. Inext time, ifI try anything else that equals that fish, I will add a star to my review.

If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat in the neighborhood then this is a solid place to come to. They offer weekday lunch specials that are pretty decent. When you first walkin you will find yourself in the bar area. Walk around the dock and towards the back you’ll see some tables. It’s open seating so no need to wait for a host. I ordered the butterfly shrimp which had a nice breading to it. They were split in half so you know they clean out the yucky stuff. Pretty cheap drink specials and it’s fun to say you ate on a boat in San Antonio. For those looking for this restaurant it literally is the blue boat in the corner of Fredericksburg and wurzbach!

Dry Dock has hit near rock bottom. They should close the place down and start fresh. I’ve been going to Dry Dock for over 20 years. They are known for their oysters. Today the Oysters Rockefeller tasted like rubber. The raw oysters weren’t washed and full of shell particles. We also had Cajun shrimp, billed as «HOT» but not even a hint of heat and fried shrimp with limp French fries. I was going to order desert but my son says why waste the calories. Everything here was so bad, what can you expect from desert. Got up and left, never to return.

This place has gone downhill from several years ago. All of the food we ordered was tasteless and when we turned in almost untouched plates, the staff did not even inquire what was wrong. They took it as normal. Staff wants to socialize with each other, ignoring the customer’s needs Our server touches the trash and moves on to oysters without washing his hands. Horrible. This was my favorite place for years and it is sad to say, but this will be my last time coming here. The owner needs to get his people in line.

Me and my boyfriend had never been here till today, but we were craving seafood. I got a pound of snow crab and it’s was plenty. Came w a new potato, corn and rice. The Cajun spice I asked to come on the crab was tasty and so was the crab, itself. My boyfriend got friend shrimp and the batter was satusfying. I was impressed w the service we received from everyone, especially Damien, who took care of us for the majority of the time. The staff was friendly, and the food tasted delicious. We definitely left satisfied w our first time experience.

I didn’t get to try Dry Dock last time I was in San Antonio, so I made it a point to give it a shot this visit. Sadly, I wasn’t missing much. I sat at the bar which was cluttered with used plates and glasses. The staff cleaned it up pretty quick, but left me with a cup of tartar sauce from a previous patron as a dining companion for the night. I know everyone raves about they clams, but I wasn’t much in the mood. Instead I settled on an order of Stuffed Jalapeños and Shrimp Doty. It took them about 10 – 15 to bring out my food which was a little longer than I would have liked, but not horrible. Knowing how poppers’ temperature can be deceiving, I gently tested one. It seemed warm, so I took a bite. The poppers might as well have been stuffed lava because the first bite burned the skin off my bottom lip. After several drinks from my beer, I set those aside and moved on to the Doty. Despite the warning of «hot» on the menu, I found everything in the dish quite bland. The onions and green peppers had little flavor and the broth tasted overly peppered. The shrimp was only a little better. All in all, okay. Not horrible, but definitely not worth the price.

The Dry Dock is one of my favorite laid-back dinner spots. If you are looking for raw oysters without having to go to a fancy seafood restaurant, this is the spot. Cold beer and crab legs in a building shaped like a boat? Yes please! The reason i only gave 3 stars is because the service is extremely hit or miss. Often times the service is excellent, but there has been more than one occasion where we waited 10 minutes or more after being seated for someone to come take our drink order.
