I can’t say enough good things about this place, I simply love all their deserts and the owners make it extra special!

I honestly thought I would never give in to a craving to eat chocolate covered bacon. Today at the kickoff to Meat Week San Antonio that all changed and I am sooo glad it did. There were four topping choices(coconut, almonds, white chocolate and can’t remember what else) it was crunchy, salty, sweet on a stick. Also got the éclair cake which was equally delicious and decadent.

I really really wanted to like this place. I mean anyone who bravely decides to sell chocolate products in a food truck has to be commended for bravery, but after a few shots, have been sorely disappointed. Tried the fondue the first time and while the flavor of the chocolate was decent, it had a fairly strange texture after having any fruit dipped in it. I loved the idea that they were doing a chocolate fondue, but it was not fab… maybe because the chocolate cools down pretty quickly. Tried the truffles at meat week and again they were a bit of a disappointment. First of all there was a white chocolate truffle. which I hated instantly since I am not a fan of this stuff called white chocolate! It has no cocoa solids and I have no clue who thinks its chocolate. The mint truffle was actually good in the sense that it was not too sweet, but again when I bit into it and held a piece in my mouth it did not melt. Makes me wonder if they used a dab too much paraffin wax or something(I chose not to use the word paraffin in the first post since I did not want to freak anyone out. Paraffin wax is perfectly edible and is used to stabilize melty foods), the so called chipotle toffee tasted more like cinnamon rather than chipotle and texturally the toffee was just not enjoyable. I expected a nice buttery crunchy base but it seriously did not taste like buttery, flaky goodness. I am told I have to try their éclair cakes and other stuff, so I am going to give them a shot and hopefully upgrade my review. But as it stands, I am going to stick to my own home made decadent brownies and the chocolate soup to match my craving for chocolate.

I had the pleasure of trying Chocollazo over at Boardwalk on Bulverde recently. I am a huge fan of chocolate, so without a doubt — I knew I had to try this place. The people in the truck were friendly. I got the«fondue» option and it was fantastic. You got strawberries, marshmallows, and bananas. The whole idea of it, is great in my opinion. The likelihood of creating myself a fondue at home would be a total fail. Totally worth $ 5 and I didn’t even have a chance to take a picture because everyone at my table devoured the fondue within minutes. I don’t care if we are in San Antonio heat, I think chocolate is good whenever. I would definitely try this truck again. I haven’t tried a truffle so from the reviews, I would definitely like to try a truffle next time to see if they really lack flavor. Overall, great concept of a truck, friendly owners and yummy fondue! Totally recommend. :)

We visited this little«house of heaven» a little while back, before the 100 degree weather. First we tried the mint, bacon chocolate, mocha, chocolate mustaches and caramel buddhas. Then we went back for more and added ‘mallow and fruit fondue. Fantastic!

My husband and I had to check out the chocolate food truck at the Boardwalk on Bulverde during the food truck throw down. We chose the 3 for $ 5 option. 2 bacon german chocolate, and a chocolate mustache. We liked the bacon german chocolate truffle. It was very unique and delicious. The mustache was milk chocolate, it tasted pure… and unless you’ve added something weird, you cant go wrong. My only complaint really is that chocolate from a food truck in the middle of a texas summer really isn’t the best idea. I didn’t get to play with my mustache :(it was a melty mess! I couldn’t save it for later, and eating right away was a throwback moment to my toddler years. Best eaten indoors? or in the cooler months? I see this as a great niche novelty food truck, for parties, weddings, and bar mitzvahs.

Guh. Guh. Where do I start? People are re-inventing the awesome of the food truck already and delivering truffles to me in trucks now. How do I now just start out with being in love with how ingenious this is. If Godiva had a truck I’d be thrown under the table in 3 or 4 minutes flat. As it is, this is the first I’ve seen and it was definitely my second place runner for the Food Truck Throwdown 2013 today. I got three truffles. The Caramel Buddha, The Bacon German Chocolate and(letting the owner pick my last one as his personal favorite) The Raspberry. All three were dark chocolate and sadly trying to melt quickly in the Texas sun. I was sad to see the Bacon German didn’t taste much like Bacon, which was the massive reason I wanted it and wanted to try it. The Caramel Buddha, as just dark chocolate wrapped around dark chocolate, was pretty standard and delightful. While the Raspberry really was a sort of slow setting divine, all bland when you first bite in but then exploding with flavor on your tongue after that. Definitely a place I’d like to try more pieces from.

It is chocolate, so it gets a three star. Chocolate just can’t get below three star ratings, period. However, I didn’t find this particular truck any special. I went to this truck at the food trucks throwdown and had one bacon German chocolate for $ 2. All I can conclude is that it was just OK. I can’t say I tasted any flavor of the bacon at all which was very disappointing.
