It’s a buffet, which is a plus. However, the food quality and consistency is lacking. When I went the food was greasy, even for a Chinese buffet. There were flies buzzing around the steamer tables and also in the dining room. I tried the sushi bar and I could taste that it wasn’t really being kept as cold as it should be. I haven’t been back.

I arrived in the parking lot and checked Unilocal for ratings. Was surprised to see such a low rating. This is Sunday after church. The restaurant was full the food was full and freshly prepared constantly. I found the grilled fish to be the best I have had in any buffet. The chef at the Mongolian grill knew how to season your selections well. The fried foods were crunchy yet tender inside. The Menudo which is prepared differently at each of their locations was better than many Mexican Restaurants I have visited. Kevin the waiter was fast and kept my table cleared and drink full. Great visit all around.

We came here for breakfast before church. the staff was friendly but the food was undercooked, cold and soggy, like if it was just sitting outside for an hour. There were flies all over the soda machine. I’ve eaten at plenty of jack in the box restaurants and this is probably the worst I’ve eaten at.

If you are disabled, don’t bother trying to eat here. They flatly REFUSE to allow service dogs, and they say they don’t care about the law requiring them to accommodate customers who need service dogs. No blind people allowed, no servicemen with PTSD who are fine as long as they have their service animals… not welcome. It really makes you wonder what OTHER laws don’t they reject outright because they think they can get away with it…

By far the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten, buffet or otherwise, bland food that all tasted the same. Service was good but I would prefer no service and good food.

The food was okay. When I got my check the total was $ 17.44. I gave the waitress my card to pay and when she brought the check back the total changed to $ 19.44. Strange thing is the tip line was left blank. I asked the waitress about it and she couldn’t tell me why the total changed. The guy at the register kept staring at me while he spoke to the waitress in Chinese. And then he told me that he was sorry. I told the waitress they he screwed her out of a bigger tip. If they did it to me how many other people do they do that too. Definitely will no be going back

Friendly server and waitstaff. Could taste rancid oil in the food. Bit into sushi roll and nearly gagged. Very concerned about the safety of the food… be careful. Also, water was leaking on us from the ceiling. If you look carefully, you will notice the filth and grime… bacterial films on napkin dispenser, glass dividers and other fixtures. Would not recommend at all.

The Buffet food here is not that great. The flavor of the General/Sesame Chicken is generic and bland. The Mongolian grill is sub par. If you eat here don’t go in with high expectations and you should be fine!

I am giving this 2 stars due to the fact that the food was quite bland. Service was good but for a buffet I have had better. Most of the food was also cold or burnt. The address was also wrong. Its at 4400 Fredericksburg.

They must have improved because all the poor reviews are from years ago. I’m not really much of a fan when it comes to buffet but I have to say I was really impressed with this place. Food is good and always fresh. The dining facility is clean. I never had to wait for drink refills. My server was always on top of it. Even though this is a Chinese Buffet they serve other ethnic dishes and the main reason why I come here is for their Vietnamese Spring Rolls. Hmm … so yummy! They didn’t have any when I came up to the sushi area and the guy made one for me since this is why I go here. It is close to my job and since it’s buffet it’s fast and easy. I would recommend China Harbor.

I’m giving this four stars because, in the first place, it is a buffet. You can’t expect buffet food to compare with top-level Chinese dining establishments, so I don’t. And as a buffet, this one is ‘way more than just fine. What’s good: The food — good variety of chicken, beef and seafood, even some pork. My favorites were the crispy-fresh green beans, baked mussels, the bbq pork, and the spicy seafood soup. There were a few less usual dishes, like an octopus salad, also good. We didn’t try it, but people who ventured to the Mongolian Grill seemed to enjoy. The restaurant offers the usual selection of American dishes(pizza, mac & cheese, fries etc.) which I’ve never figured out. .. but I watched people loading their plates, so it must be there for a reason. The clean, spacious and comfortable dining room with lots of room around their buffet tables. The booths are particularly comfortable. The friendly staff — everyone we met went out of their way to be welcoming. Service was outstanding — dirty plates barely touched the table’s edge before they were whisked away. My water glass never made it below half full and even though we were supposed to pay ourselves on the way out the server came and took our credit card up for us when she saw we had it out. I liked it that when we left she said, «Have a good day, my friends.» What wasn’t so great: Their sushi. .. the selection, even at noon, was very limited, and the rolls were so loose they fell apart in your chopsticks. HEB’s sushi is worlds better than this. The soup bowls are very tiny, much tinier than one usually finds in Chinese restaurants, or any restaurant for that matter. Made it hard to transfer soup ingredienfts(and the seafood soup has a lot) from the ladle to the bowl without making a mess. All told, for $ 15(for 2) including tax, this was a great place to go for lunch. Since I work just around the corner, I’ll probably be back the next time a seafood soup craving hits.

Not a big fan of buffets in the first place but this place is just not any good even keeping in mind that it’s a buffet restaurant. Rather go someplace where food is made to order. Just don’t waste your time here.

There are hundreds of Chinese buffetts all over San Antonio, and I’ve tried a lot of them. If you trust my advice, skip the others and head to China Harbor. The food is always fresh, hot, and tasty, plus the restaurant is clean and the staff friendly. Don’t forget to tip your server! They deserve one.

A friend and I dined here for lunch last week. First off, don’t let the exterior fool you– I was surprised when I saw how clean and well-decorated the restaurant was. I gave a four star rating because while it didn’t have as many buffet options as other Asian buffets– the selection they offer was more than adequate, the food(incuding the salad bar) was fresh, and they offer a hibachi/Mongolian grill which you don’t find in many buffets. The service was also much better than most restaurants I’ve visited. I never had to ask for drink refills(or anything else) and in fact my glass never reached ¼ full before our server refilled it. It’s the kind of service tips are actually meant for– not just because you feel bad that servers have a poor salary generally.

Severely overpriced crap. I have eaten at bad buffet places before, but this was a whole new low. There was nothing worth the price there. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid!

Do not go here! Went to dinner with my roommate. We ate the same stuff at home for breakfast and lunch and we were both fine. Stuff we eat all the time. Went to China Harbor, he had the chicken fried rice, I didn’t. He got violently sick in the restaurants bathroom, twice in the parking lot and once more on the way home. I didn’t get sick. Thought I was going to have to call an ambulance as he became weak and almost passed out a few times. Manager told him there was nothing wrong with the food. Guess more people need to puke if that’s considered good food. Never call a customer a liar. Never call a customer who is a chef of 20 years a liar. Friend thinks it was possible cross contamination. All sorts of wrong. Wish I could give less than 1 star

for a buffet, this place is def dencent. isn’t it funky how all these buffets have mac n cheese, cheese sticks and sometimes fried chicken? ANYWAY, i guess it keeps the kiddos in a good mood. def better than chopsticks.
