Went here several months ago with my large family. The wait staff is attentive, the food portions are large, and the quality is good. Not a five star restaurant, but much better then many other chain restaurants I’ve been too.

Super long wait and they messed up in sitting us down. So the hostesses are not so organized. I would have given a choice star review however the servers made up for it as well as the discount on our food. So i gave the 3 star review. Not sure ill come again.

I recently came here for my team Christmas party. When I got to Cheddars there was hardly anybody coming in. As we waited for the rest of the party to come in, we were seated quickly at a pretty large table. We were greeted by a new waitress while I didn’t get her name but I assumed she was new based on what I read on her tag. She was very nice and considerate with our group. When she took our order she seemed to get it all right. My favorite item off the menu is their 6 oz sirloin with two entrées. I ordered the loaded baked potato and green beans. When the food came out she was very good at handling the food to my team members. The steak tasted juicy and delicious. Not one negative experience here! I love Cheddars. Best place to eat quality food and drinks at a low price!

Bland menu. Dirty establishment. Poor furniture placement. Food took a very long time, came lukewarm and then got everyone sick. Cheddar’s is pricey food poisoning.

Since my wife and I were out in the area to go mattress shopping(see that review), wife wanted Cheddar’s. We stopped in and, although it was VERY busy, we were seated immediately(go figure… folks were there with entire clans). Got a nice booth and were greeted within five minutes by Ashley, a wonderful young server who was very attentive. Since I am on a new restrictive diet, I was in the mood for something soft yet filling. Their famous chicken pot pie fit the bill(*ALMOST* as good as Sam’s Club’s pot pie…)! That and a shared order of cheese CURDS(please, Cheddar’s.for this Wisconsinite, call them CURDS, not just bites), plus a hot bowl of cream of potato soup rounded out my meal. Wife had a lovely chicken salad with her favorite balsamic vinaigrette dressing. She also had one of the biggest margaritas I had ever seen. I was satisfied with my Coke Zero. Ashley took very good care of us! No problems at all! All food was tasty, served very quickly and all was excellent. Don’t know why so many three star reviews, but I guess service and food does vary from person to person. More picky diners, I guess, but we were pleased!

Today is my mother’s birthday. We all went out to eat, the family. I had the 12oz ribeye with a loaded baked potato and the rice pilaf. My mom had the Ck. It looked tasty. My wife loves the painkiller. The service was excellent. Amanda is a fantastic server. If you choose to visit this location ask for her. She’s the reason I rated 5 stars. Good service is hard to find, especially if you have a big group. Food not super. But not bad. My steak was cooked at a perfect medium rare. The cook back there is doing his job with pride. Thanks guys my mom had a great time.

Wait time sucks but the staff and food was great. The restroom needed a little attention but other than that it was a good experience.

Mediocre at best, nothing too special about this place, just another version of Chillis, Applebee’s type place. A little bit of everything, I wasn’t too too hungry when I went and I heard their fish was good, so I will be back to try that, other than that, pretty plain Jane. I appreciate the food and service

Foods fine. Waiter was good. Flies. Lots of flies. It’s a common problem with sown restaurants around here, but it’s not an impossible problem to solve. Please, address this issue. It’s embarrassing for you and unpleasant for the customer.

Chedders’s … oh Chedder’s how I want to like you still. When I ate more conventional food back in the day, this place was good, but now that I care about what I eat. I just can’t. I asked for steam broccoli, but it was drenched in butter. Why? Why??? That doesn’t make it healthy anymore! The Tilapia over rice wasn’t bad and tasted good when done in olive oil. But I don’t believe that my plate of overly drenched broccoli, rice and tilapia should be a $ 12.00 buck ticket. I couldn’t eat the broccoli. If I was in Austin I would of made a hoopla about it, but since I was in San Antonio. I just figured why try? Maybe that sounds bad, but the guy didn’t understand the difference between gluten and dairy… ugh. I will only go back here if I have no other options and for some reason on this side of town again? As far as atmosphere it was casual and just like all other chedder’s locations.

I thought the service at this Cheddar’s was very good, in spite of a huge crowd and a lot of distractions. Maybe the first thing you’ll notice is a completely occupied parking lot and several families gathered near the entrance. This seems to be the case every time I drive by. Regardless, as I was dining alone, the hostess sat me within two minutes. My server, Lisa, was great. Originally, I asked for a Newcastle, but it came out skunked, so I asked for it to be taken back, and have a tall draught-poured Shiner instead. Lisa did this promptly and at no extra charge. The Monte Cristo sandwiches were fantastic, complete with the traditional raspberry preserves. Lisa stopped by often and was very courteous and genial throughout. The restaurant is a bit noisy, with hundreds of people carrying on conversations as you might expect, and I did notice that several people just appeared to be standing around, I wasn’t really sure if they were waiting for tables. A television displays several of Cheddar’s drinks being prepared, which I thought was a nice change from some random sporting event. Cheddar’s prices for both food and drink are also really affordable. I’m sold!

Last time I had Cheddar’s was in San Angelo nearly 17 years ago. Food was good. We loved their cheese bites and their honey butter croissants! Didn’t wait very long to be seated(at 10:30pm it was still busy). We’ll be back.

Service is absolutely terrible. I have given a few chances but every time I walk out disappointed. At one point I even asked to fill out a comment card which I feel was thrown out because I was never contacted. On that occasion, my salmon was raw when served to me. I was really calm because I know it’s never the server’s fault but she had a pretty bad attitude when I asked if she could take it back. She came back with a new plate and the fish was raw once again. I asked her if I could just order something else and she rolled her eyes. I didn’t think that was very cool especially considering I was being really chill about the whole ordeal. I worked in guest relations for years so I know the pains of dealing with irate guests, so I made sure I was polite and chill yet I received attitude in return. I requested to speak to the manager and he literally said«well are you trying to get this off your ticket or what?» I thought that wasn’t cool. I responded saying«no, I just thought from one customer service manager to another I would make you aware of the situation. Paying for my food is not an issue.» He then resolved it by saying an apathetic sorry and that was that. It was totally not cool and that was the last time I gave them a chance. Some of the servers are very hard working and sweet but some are downright terrible. Even still, I’ve tipped every time.

Lemon pepper chicken was nothing to write home about. It came out dry and rubbery and not lemon/peppery. It also tasted very salty, I’m not convinced that these weren’t frozen filets they nuked. I would give this dish a non-recomend. Now the Crossants were amazing and that’s the only reason I gave this place 2 stars. If they had no Crossants I’d give them –2 stars

I walked into Cheddars and was immediately taken in by the ambience! Great looking place! Waited only about 15 mins for a table on a Tuesday night, must be a popular place! The menu offers great selections in a variety of foods from fried chicken to a jambalaya pasta to steak. We ordered the Cajun pasta and the chicken fried steak. Don’t forget to get some of those croissants! They were amazing!!! Both were delicious but we’re lacking in the temperature. I really prefer my food«hot» when it comes to the table. Then the service. Much to be desired. Slow and just EH. I wasn’t impressed with the service at all. I may be back because the food(and croissants) was good but hopefully the service will be better on the next visit!!!

I am a fan of Cheddars here in Houston, but this location in San Antonio left me wanting more. The croissants were dry and hard. The food was lukewarm and lacking in flavor. The drinks were not well mixed. It was such a disappointment.

What do I say? It’s Cheddars. I don’t think expectations can be too high. Drinks are decent, dishes are acceptable. Service is perfunctory. The restaurant itself is comfortable and clean. At lunch time they turn and burn. For a quick, casual lunch with collegues with realistic expectations, it should be considered an option.

Again with the young waitstaff. Ugh, where do I begin? I’ve been here a handful of times and it’s a depressing experience each time. It happens to be that whatever I or my friends order, they are out of! So strange! One visit they were out of cocktail sauce. We instructed the girl as to what is needed to make it and asked if she could go to the bar for horseradish then we needed ketchup. Bar was out of horseradish. What? On top of that we joked that the manager could have gone to Walmart and picked up a few large bottles of cocktail sauce. The staff didn’t think it was funny or useful info. The waitress brought us mayo and ketchup to mix. Gross. Other meals were 86’ed as well… Not just side condiments. Beers have been out too. A few good things — once you find a meal to actually order, it’s pretty good. Prices are extremely fair and drink prices are great. 2 people for dinner and a few drinks is definitely doable on a budget. Portions are not overwhelming, it’s great. The bartender on one of our visits was awful. Maybe she was a fill in or new. Chewing gum, talking with coworkers instead of paying attention to her guests, and ignoring to-go patrons(who came to the bar to order). This is another place that if I were in HS it’d be a great hang out.

Came here for lunch. We went before noon to avoid the lunch rush – this place can get ridiculously packed! I ordered the Choose 3 lunch combo: double decker club, potato soup and house salad. The decent-sized salad comes with a buttery croissant. Yum! Their potato soup was fully loaded with bacon, good amount of cheese, and potato chunks in a creamy broth. SOOOOOOODELISSHHHH!!! It’s even better than the potato soup at La Madeleine! Service at this location was actually good, surprisingly. Food was good. Prices are very decent for the portions, too!
