Best Buy Mobile

**This particular location is closing (already has, I believe), with most employees transferring to the DeZavala or 410/​Bandera stores**
Almost exactly a year after my first visit, I was back for an upgrade in device and a change of carrier. Stellar service from the Best Buy Mobile staff remained the same… it really is the only place I’ll ever consider for any mobile phone needs.
We walked in intending to get one upgraded — but not the latest and greatest — phone. Because free. Thanks to employees who are totally on top of their promotions/​credits game though — and a visiting AT&T rep in the building to make them aware of the day’s newest promotions -, we walked out with a definitely-​latest & greatest phone each (android for me, iPhone for him), a free tablet (which could have been 2, but I’ve opted out for now), and $ 150 in BB credit. No trade-​ins necessary. Freakin awesome!
There have apparently been some changes to the Geek Squad Protection Plan (there’s a deductible now, where there never has been before, and more limited coverage) that made me/​us opt not to continue it at the moment, while we research it — and all other options — further. To be revisited…
That aside, always a great experience with Best Buy Mobile.

Excellent service and knowledgeable staff. Wanted to get a sim card to try a new carrier’s service. The manager was very helpful in explain what would happen. When I came later to get sim, the ordering process was very quickly. They have a variety of phone and tablets to choose from when you are ready to get cell phone service.
