Great hospitality! Everything was clean and spacious. The concierge was very knowledgeable and friendly. Thumbs up to Chuck and the other gentleman that helped us choose a place to eat. If you’re wanting a quick drink, Gilgamesh has some awesome brew and is just down the street!

I like the accommodations. However, front desk staff leave a lot to be desired. There are two gentlemen who work the night shift who are funny and helpful. Daytime staff are rude and dismissive. There’s an assistant manager who is quite taken with her title but is an absolute shrew. But, if horrid day staff doesn’t frighten you, this isn’t a bad place to stay.

This review is about my experience with leaving some articles behind. Like me with a family trying to remember and not forget everything. It happend to us. I will just say better make sure it doesn’t happen to you. I was very disappointed in how this was handled by the morning manager. After getting home, it was discovered that some articles were left behind. I called the next day first thing in the morning to report. I never received a follow up call to let me know the out come. So I called afterwards and was very disappointed in how it was handled. Don’t forget anything.

I’m reviewing the meeting area, and I have not stayed here as a guest. I’ve taken multiple courses and seminars here and it’s a good space, easily used with round or banquet tables and accommodating for small or larger groups(not too large, but can accommodate up to 80 in the meeting room). Lighting is good and you can easily set up a projector in the front and have it seen by guests. It’s quiet and the location being right off the I5 is great. Food closeby, Dennys for lunch or coffee nearby, as well as gas stations as well. It’s a convenient location for trainings or meetings. I’d give it 5 stars, but the temperature fluctuated a little too much and it got cold. Bring layers!

We have been coming here for a few years now. Both for personal and business. It seems like every time our customer service and experience gets worse. Upon check in with John, it was a great experience, he was kind, courtesy and very busy with the the phone ringing off the hook. When we made our reservations we were told we could have a late check out 12:30. Mind you we were here to run a ½ marathon that was in the outskirts of Salem. We got back and was soaked, to be polite to the hotel we took all of our wet coats off so we didn’t drip all over there floors. We asked the front desk for a bag and she gave us one but snotty like. We head to our room to get our suits on for the sauna and hot tub. My key wouldn’t work, she was giving a tour so was already in the pool room. I told her my key wouldn’t work, the other lady walked away and left. I asked the front desk for help and she was snotty and rude again. I barely sit down in the sauna, my friend calls me and tell me «we only have 15 minutes to get out of here now, the front desk called.» At this time in is almost noon. So I hurry up to get dressed. While I’m in the shower again the front desk called us again to remind us, like we needed it at this point. The front desk that was rude and snotty was KATHERINE to myself and my mom. I nor will she be staying there again. We come often to do runs in this area and we make sure to stay else where!!!

We purchased our night’s stay through an app(Hotel Tonight) and were also charged for our night’s stay by the hotel. The customer service at the hotel was poor in solving this problem. It took multiple telephone calls to resolve, over several days. Not happy. On the other hand, we enjoyed our stay

Visited August 15, 2015 For an emergency overnight road trip we quickly searched for hotels along the Interstate 5 corridor, with easy access on and off the freeway but also with a restaurant close-by and the one that had the best deal for such a short-notice search was this Best Western On arrival(and during departure very early the next morning) the staff was very, very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The entrance is very beautiful and I am curious how things are changing as they were doing some restoration just past the front desk. The room was very clean, odor-free, and quiet — the hotel appeared to be packed as many were on such a summer weekend. Parking was plentiful for any size vehicle and seemed very secure with the brilliant lights making us feel safe. Inside the room we found coffee maker, microwave, waters, and much more including an ironing board and iron hidden neatly in a tall wall cabinet. Finally there was a white remote labeled Clean Remote… never have I seen such a thing but very conscientious for those of us who like clean things. Beds were very comfortable, clean, and extra pillows and linens in the room There were two events occurring in the«convention areas» but the noise and business of conventions were no where to be seen in the hotel itself. Finally the continental breakfast was anything but — they provided us with a meal ticket where we walked to the Denny’s restaurant in the same parking lot for a fresh breakfast(see other review with list) — many would say«sure it is Denny’s» but this arrangement took us away from the typical cold or warm continental breakfast in a cramped room, this was a refreshing break! All in all it was a pleasant hotel for such a short refreshing stop along the I-5 corridor — as I mentioned above, easy access both on and off the freeway! Is someplace I would return to

Well throw out all the old reviews and report the way it is today. The facility is fantastic. Clean updated beautiful counters beautiful carpets beautiful furniture pristine rooms. A quiet little refrigerator in the room microwave great TV quiet lovely all the things you could want good facility good toiletries the ironing board is here the coffee is here I mean it’s everything you could want in a hotel passing through town. It’s even a lot more than you need for me anyway. Free cookies free breakfast and the breakfast is a Denny’s across the way well that’s fabulous. Anyway I like it I’d come back good deal.

Awesome, clean and great location hotel! Never thought a best western would have so much to offer but I was proved wrong. Spacious room, comfy bed, room amenities are beyond what other hotels offer… And of course at a great price! I wouldn’t mind staying at these hotels again if they are like this one. The reason for the 4 stars is since we didn’t encounter too much employees to get great customer service to rate them a 5 star… But so far so good!

Visiting from Southern Oregon. Can’t beat the state rate of $ 87 a night for a room with two queen beds with lots of pillows(5, to be exact), a microwave, and mini fridge with two Kirkland water bottles that are added each day. I’ll be staying a total of 5 nights, and it is currently the 3rd night. Upon check-in, I received a packaged cookie, a 15% off dinner coupon, and two breakfast vouchers(for two days, as it was explained to me) to use at Denny’s. I was confused because I thought I would receive a free voucher for each day of my stay. Come to find out, you pick them up from the front desk the night before. A colleague of mine(who had stayed at the Mill Creek Inn for two weeks when she completed some trainings last month) stated that her vouchers were slipped under her door and waiting for her when she got up in the morning. I’m wondering about these inconsistencies. Is it just that some staff members go above and beyond? The voucher doesn’t give you a ton of options(only 4), but it’s filling and free, minus the tip. Forgive me, as I am going off of memory here, but the dining options are: 1. Two eggs, hash browns, and toast 2. French toast or 2 pancakes 3. Hot cereal 4. Egg whites, fruit A previous review said you could get biscuits and gravy. I wish that was still the case. You can get 2 pieces of bacon or 2 sausages with the above options. Also, you can choose milk, juice, or coffee. They serve milk and juice in a pretty small kid-sized glass. I opted for the juice since I can get coffee for free at the hotel. You can brew Seattle’s Best Coffee in your room. You get two packages of decaf and two packages of the medium & balanced. Personally, I dislike it. It tastes acrid and burnt. Why is it that they never give you enough cream and sugar? Those pre-prepared packages are as annoying as they are wasteful. Rather than brewing the coffee myself, I go downstairs to the lobby and get some from the dispenser. Located next to the dispenser are delicious Coffee-mate creamers in Regular, French Vanilla, and Hazelnut(I grab a handful to take to my room) or the powdered cream and sugar, if that’s what you like. There’s also a dispenser(the kind you find at gas stations) for hot chocolate and caramel macchiato. No brainer! Other things I like: The clean remotes. Don’t think I need to go into detail as to why. The things in my room that belonged to me were just as I had left them. The staff was attentive to clearing out the trash, replacing towels and toiletries, and even making my bed again for me. If I removed my belongings, it would look as it did when I first checked in. It is still undergoing renovations. I can see why some people would be upset about paying more than $ 100 a night. The wood on my bathroom door was peeling off in layers along the bottom and the handle looked oxidized. The stairway leading up from the rear parking lot to the second floor was also being worked on. There were signs posted asking to excuse the appearance as they are currently remodeling. I haven’t actually seen anyone working anywhere, but that doesn’t mean anything. When I first came in the room, I looked high and low for an iron and couldn’t find it anywhere. That was because it was hidden in a tall cabinet that looks a lot like a medicine cabinet I have in my home. The ironing board folds out and there’s a little cubby at the top that the iron fits into. I had a good laugh. I was about to pitch a fit if I had to pay the inn for dry cleaning. I’ll probably be returning to the area for another training next month and if I can’t find a place with a kitchenette(eating out gets old, quick) I’d consider staying here again.

The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars was because they were undergoing a remodel. I have no complaints about this place. Rooms were sizable and comfortable. Staff was super nice

This was a nice mid range hotel. They were undergoing a remodel which was not disclosed prior to making reservations. This has some disadvantages. There is only one elevator and it is extremely small. Waiting for workers was long. It would have been nice to have a mid range hotel breakfast but they do offer a Denny’s coupon for three or four choices. This is located adjacent the hotel in the same parking lot. One interesting thing, my second night stay I didn’t return to the hotel until 9:00 pm. As I was pulling in the hotel parking lot at 9 o’clock sharp I received a phone call that was unrecognized. The hotel stuff where I was staying called to ask if they should«throw away» the belongings that I left in my room. Long story short, they only had me registered as one night, all my things were in the room untouched. I stayed the second night.

Stayed here a couple nights. It’s ok. Remodeling though while staying here wasn’t fun but at least they are improving the joint. Pool is good size and decent. Kiddy pool next to it as well as a hot tub(could’ve been hotter though) Exercise room decent. Even dumb bells… plus Rooms outdated but maybe they will update with the current remodeling. Bed decent. Parking decent. Free breakfast at Dennys across the parking lot. Plus Also coupon for 10% off dinner at Dennys too. Couple miles down the road, Jimmy Johns and Five guys burgers. Plus Overall decent place but outdated and price for me at the time was too high @ $ 154 a night. Really?

Visiting from San Jose, CA for two nights. Firstly, this hotel is undergoing renovations but everything is easily accessible, there’s just paint all over the walls and plastic wrap on the ceiling. They give you a voucher at check in for the Denny’s right across the parking lot. Other than that it’s pretty clean. The beds are comfortable and the price is right. Rating this hotel three stars simply because when we checked in the receptionist could not get a key to program for us so we were without a key for one night. We were able to get our keys the next morning from the day manager. I asked if she could comp us in some way and she said she couldn’t because we booked through a third party site. Understandable. The room is spacious enough. Overall I would stay here again for a short term stay.

This place is NOT anything like they portrayed it to be. It’s run down and very used looking, much like I’d expect in a Motel 6 or Travelodge. Definetely not a $ 150 a night hotel room in Salem. And they forgot to mention half the hotel is under construction so no discount for inhaling paint fumes and walking down these halls. The front desk chick was not friendly either. What happened Best Western? Worst Western here?

It’s dated but some rooms have small kitchenette. No food on site, you get a voucher for Denny’s.

Gutes Hotel. Freundliches Personal. Großes Zimmer mit einer Kitchenette. Das Zimmer und Bad/WC war sauber. Freies Parken. Zusätzlich gab es einen Rabattgutschein von 15% für das Abendessen im gegenüberliegenden Denny’s und einen Gutschein für das Frühstück.

Very courteous. Room was nice, big and very clean. Overall, enjoyed the stay. Had problems figuring out the heating system. Bed not really comfortable and the floor squeaked in the room and going down the hall. Loved the recliner and bath was clean and good sized. Nice tv.

Stayed here with my husband for one night in June. Check-in was quick and the staff was polite. We got two free cookies. The hotel is pretty huge. They were sold out the night we arrived so it was a good thing we had a reservation. There was still plenty of parking. We were given a room on the top floor right by the elevator. The noise wasn’t bad in the evening, but in the morning I could hear the beep beep beep of the elevator changing floors. The room itself was basic but comfortable enough. There was extra bedding in the closet and plenty of towels. I liked the blackout shades over the window. The tv had lots of channels although it didn’t have HBO which was specifically advertised. Free breakfast at Denny’s was included. You have a choice of six options(pancakes, french toast, biscuits and gravy, eggs/hasbrowns/sausage/toast, oatmeal, or pancake bites) and a beverage. I had low expectations but I was very presently surprised! Although it was busy(the hotel was sold out) the service was great and the portions were large. The free breakfast is a great deal. There isn’t a lot of other restaurants that are walkable, but there are lots of options within a 10 minute drive.
