I believe that some previous reviews have been accurate on the service quality I think it’s the best Chinese food on this side of town! I looovvee how they have the option of bubble tea. coming from the Bay Area and having an assortment of different ways to get it, it’s hard to get it up here :/but every time I order something to eat I get the watermelon snow bubble tea and it’s yummy! its so tasty and great to have with your meal :) I’ve ordered the dinner combo #6 plate to go and it’s definitely worth ordering again in the future! thank you for being such a yummy restaurant and being close proximity to my house ;)

Great soup. Egg Flower with substance! Entrees(Chix Pad Thai & Moo Goo Gai Pan) not as spicy as ordered. chef corrected upon request, but with wrong spices. Atmosphere seemed stark and oddly uncomfortable due to no background music. Server was functional but seemed as if it was a distraction attending to customers taking him away from folding silverware in napkins. Portions were generous and, speaking for myself,(Moo Goo Gai Pan) food quality was very good.

Not making a return. Place was empty when we got in. Monday night, so not docking any points here. There were only two guys working from what we saw– the chef and the host/waiter/take out guy. Tables were filthy. Only ours and another table looked like they had been bused. Host wasn’t friendly. Didn’t say hi, just pointed to a clean table. Mumbled. I get the impression he didn’t like working with people. So we ordered. Got tea. I will admit, the tea was nice. Got the Bangkok family meal. Brother and I got miso, grandmother got egg drop soup, and we got crab puffs as appetizers. Soup took about half an hour to get to the table. Egg drop soup was lukewarm. The seaweed in the miso tasted past date. Crab puffs and barbeque pork okay, however it was cold. Lemon chicken was best thing– glaze was pleasantly tart. Pad Thai actually wasn’t too bad, a little musy but filling. These were the best two things we ordered. Cashew chicken– way too watery. Fresh but bland. And the fried rice was weirdly sweet, like it had been fried with maple syrup. Not appealing. Here’s the weird thing. The waiter/host/takeout guy brought each dish out one at a time. And by the time he actually did bring it out, it would usually be lukewarm. Minor note– no chopsticks. Not that it’s a big deal but I appreciate the offer. Not going back. If you do decide to try this place out, stick with the take-out. At least you won’t have to deal with the service.

We are trying to make sense of the four stars in the reviews here. Egg drop soup had a great broth but the carrots and peas are certainly for a freezer. The king pao chicken is basically brown veggies with a touch of chicken and a few peanuts. The flavor is not bad but it was mostly a large plate of celery and onions. Pad Thai… Honestly not edible. We left it minus three bites. BBQ pork soup was a hit and if I had to return i would order it again. I’ll give that dish four stars. Spring rolls are out of the freezer. I’m betting you could find them at costco. Just not fresh. The guy was nice but the 45 minute wait was crazy and our entrees all arrived one by one with a good 5 minutes between each.

the place looks nice. i waited at the front to be seated and it took longer than it should have. the guy wasn’t friendly but nothing new at a chinese restaurant. i was so hungry i wanted to try everything so i ordered accordingly. fresh spring rolls, noodles and soft shell crab. i ate about a third but i took the rest home for lunch the next day. thinking about it the food was good but the service suckes. the noodles had veggies and char sui. the springs rolls were fresh and the soft shell crab delish.

Terrible. Service was passable, but the food itself was bland and didn’t use the right ingredients at all. Hong Kong style pan fried noodles came out as boiled spaghetti style noodles with steamed vegetables. Having ordered this same dish in many restaurants across several countries, it was just wrong. The noodles should be crispy, not limp and boiled. The Mongolian Beef was equally bland. Tasteless, no spice, no garlic flavors at all, using the same boiled beef. The worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. Left after three bites.

Nice clean restaurant with good service and food. The Szechuan beef is the most tender I’ve ever had and their asian spice house fried rice is outstanding! Quick service and the food was out within minutes. The takeout is great also!

This was my third visit and this place is awesome. We had the Malaysia chow mien and Hawaiian stir fried rice. Service is good and the vegetables in the dish were oh so fresh! You have to give this place a try!

I have eaten at several Asian restaurants in Salem and I have to say this is the best by far. I have been here a few times, so this is based on all of my experiences not just one. They are located in the strip mall across from Winco on Lancaster. ENJOY!!!

Went there for lunch yesterday and the food was terrible. I don’t usually send things back but I refused to pay for the entrees we received. We were literally the only people in there on a Tuesday for lunch and there’s definitely a reason for that.

A great little stop for a light lunch. The chicken fried rice is a meal in itself and I get it as often as I can!

Asian Spice is clean little restaurant with fresh food. The signature appetizer, a lettuce wrap, is very good, and big enough to make a meal for one or possibly even two. If just two make away with it, they won’t have much room for their main courses. I had two helpings, Lana had one, and we took the other half home. Lana ordered Pad Thai. It was pale and missing one or more flavors, possibly due to the(lack of?) Pad Thai sauce. I ordered mixed vegetables with tofu and mushrooms. It was the epitome of bland. An application of the usual one-dimensional Asian hot sauces added heat without depth. The steamed rice that accompanied my dish was typically Chinese: tasteless, dried out, highly-processed white. Sorry, no brown. Like most Chinese restaurants, Asian Spice doesn’t care about the quality of its cooked rice. Except for the steamed rice, the underlying quality of the food itself was obviously good. Nevertheless, because its preparation was uninspired, our entrees lacked complexity, interest and taste. The recorded music was an irritating, whiny, juvenile pop that made me wish for authentic Chinese music, bad as it is. Neither was the restaurant otherwise quiet: the female chatter from the front counter was constant and intrusive. The price was very reasonable, the portions were very large, and the hot green tea was both potable and bottomless.

Was very good fresh Chinese food. Great price. The server always gives me a 5 dollar coupon when we come in. Super good service. I’ll be back for sure.

My boyfriend, his parents, and I went here for lunch. They had eaten here before and had enjoyed themselves so they wanted to treat us to the same experience. Our waitress, Angela, was prompt and kind even though she was the only waitress on duty at the time and was juggling to-go orders and the few occupied tables. We eat got a cup of hot tea(love the beautiful stonewear mugs!) to start with and ordered two portions of the spring roll appetizers. The menu stated that one order of the rolls came with four pieces, but when our orders arrived at the table we had six pieces per plate. When we asked about this she said it was because there were four of us seated and she wanted to give us the two extra rolls per order. I don’t know if this is normal, so I wouldn’t expect it, but it sure was nice. The rolls themselves were plenty hot and crispy on the outside. The insides were a little too moist for my liking, but no one else had any complaints. We finished our cups of egg flour soup, which were hot and thick, and rolls just before our main dishes arrived. My boyfriend ordered the Mongolian beef, which was awesome! In fact, compared to my Kung Pao beef, which was pretty good, I liked the Mongolian much more. Next time we eat there, and I’m sure we will because my bf’s parents love the place, that’s what I’m ordering. One thing we did notice was there was no question of Mild, Medium, or Hot on our orders. They just came how they came, which was mild. Still very good though. Prices are really decent too, especially for the lunch menu. Glad to see this little diner, it’s a great addition to NE Salem.

Very good food and service. We ordered a family style dinner and it was a ton of food. The Szechuan beef was flavorful and the fried rice actually had shrimp in it. We will definitely come here again.
