Frame Works just gave me a very good deal on a custom framing project. I had never been in the store before, but thought I’d stop in and check it out when I saw their coupon in the local newspaper. The staff is very nice and did a superb job in helping me to select the perfect frame and matting background for my project. They were incredibly patient as I must have looked at different options for over an hour before I decided which combination I wanted to use. They have a really impressive selection, and I was impressed that they do most of the work(except the cutting and connecting) right in the shop at the back of the store, rather than sending it off to a factory. In looking at the project, I can see that they were painstakingly detailed in the assembly and that the materials used are of a high grade. If you have an opportunity to hire a custom framing shop you won’t be disappointed with Frame Works!

These guys have been around forever and they do a great job. Kudos, too, for their support of the local arts community. Tip: check the bargain frame selection in the back of the store.

Way back in the early 1990s, I had 3 or 4 things matted and framed at their then Grand Ave. store and spent a rather significant amount of money altogether. One of those pieces I’ve had hanging on various walls ever since. Recently, I discovered a dark reddish brown dribble trailing down my wall at one of the picture’s lower corners. When I first saw this, I was a bit alarmed, frightened even, because it sort of looked like blood and my mind jumped to the Jesus’ tears stuff. It was weird. Then I lifted the frame’s corner from the wall and saw a stringy goo sourcing from the tab the shop had placed on the corner to protect the surfaces of walls. That spongy tab was disintegrating and it had made a mess on my more recently-painted wall. I called the shop last week and talked with«Pam» and told her about my experience. She’d heard about it before and said they were well aware of this(3M) manufacturer defect. I asked her about a method to clean my wall. Since it’d been a while since she’d given out this info, she offered to call me back after researching on the internet. Within 5 minutes she called me with 3 different things to try. She also asked me how many other pieces I had framed at that time, and for my address so that she could send me new spongy tabs to place on the lower corners of each of those pieces. Now, I think that’s great customer service!
