First time there today… some had breakfast, some had lunch but all was outstanding.

We had pancakes, breakfast quesadillas and hash browns. Everything tastes great and the service was prompt and friendly. Love the options to personalize your meal such as asking how we wanted our bacon cooked and spicy or regular sausage with the quesadillas.

Great little place with excellent food and very friendly service. Definitely worth the stop. My family and I stopped in for breakfast as we were passing through on I-70, was only a few minutes off the highway. Had the French toast and veggie omelet. Both were very good and the prices were very reasonable. Would definitely recommend this place.

This is a great little place and I do mean little. I have only been for breakfast but it was top notch all the way. I hate telling you it is good because it will make it that much harder for me to get in the door.

Amazing Diner. Ideal back in the day Diner experience. All their food was amazing!!! The Owner truly puts pride and heart in his cooking. A lot of his food really could win a award. The atmosphere in the diner was like out of a movie.(repeating customers«want your usual» «How did you do our test today in school») Owner even takes time to greet and visit with his customers. I would go back every time. We need more of these places.

Allin’s is very, very small. Seating is very, very limited. However, the service and the food are big enough. The waitresses were so calm and accommodating. They were helpful and seemed un-phased by the people pouring in and the lack of space to put them. Everyone was patient and didn’t seem to mind the wait. Some even sat outside in the freezing cold to wait for a table. The food was incredible. We had omelettes, pancakes, and a breakfast quesadilla. Be warned, the full size omelette is a 6 egg omelette! They are also a la carte so be careful when ordering extras. A few sides will run up the bill. That being said, the food was worth the price of admission! Upon first glance it seems that there is not a restroom. However, there is one but you have to go behind the counter to the back of the restaurant. This was a great dining experience and if I am back in the area, I will stop by again to try a burger!

Everything is great, but the soups are what they are known for, an ever revolving soup selection is what keeps me coming back.

Usually don’t give 5 stars. But this place deserved them. Three of us had the cranberry nut French toast, breakfast quesadilla, and breakfast burrito with green chili. It was apparent that all of the food was fresh and made on site.

Best breakfast in town. We have eaten here a few times. Prices are reasonable, under $ 20 for both of us. Service is great. It’s a small place made to look like a 50’s diner. They pull of the look well even though the place has only been there a few years. If you like big American breakfast here’s your spot!

Fabulous neighborhood breakfast joint. It’s a rare find these days. Good value too! Loved the eggs and chili. You can tell it’s all fresh ingredients! I’ve heard too the soups are just wonderful.

First time to Allins and it was great! The scrambled eggs ARE the fluffiest, which is what drew me in based on a Unilocalers recent review. I had the half order of biscuits and gravy with eggs and crispy bacon. Perfection! My husband ordered the short stack pancakes and they were excellent. I highly recommend Allins. Service was friendly but the place is small so plan accordingly :)

We love going here for breakfast and it is very close to campus. I always get the French toast. The biscuits and gravy are also very good. It’s a small typical diner but a very fun experience. The breakfast menu is big and has a lot of options. Sometimes the service is king of slow though. Overall Satisfaction: 8⁄10 Taste: 9⁄10 Price: inexpensive Environment: small cozy diner Service: 8⁄10

Awww bummer, man. I hate to rag on a quaint little family owned restaurant like Allin’s, because I’m all about supporting small businesses. Visiting the greater Saint Louis area for Labor Day weekend, I searched for good breakfast joints in the area and found this place on Unilocal with a ‘near perfect rating!’ My confidence level high, I drove considerably out of my way, hoping for a quality eggs + bacon + hash browns & toast. It wasn’t as cheap as I expected(something like $ 7), but that didn’t irk me too much. What did frustrate me, however, was the wait. 30+ minutes for food that honestly couldn’t have been more basic. It wasn’t the waitstaff, though, since they put my order in right away. Which leads me to putting the blame on an interminably slow kitchen. To be fair, it was a busy Sunday morning at 11am, but all the more reason they should’ve been on top of their game(peak hours, amirite?) For a straightforward breakfast order, anything over half an hour is FAR too long, and I never got any reassurance or apology from the girls behind the counter(e.g. «your food’ll be right up, sorry it’s taking a while»), so I can’t help but be a little miffed. Once the food finally arrived, I scarfed it down with zero hesitation. No problems there. Although during my lengthy wait, I couldn’t help but look around the diner to see what was on the walls. Staring up at the ceiling, I noticed a decidedly filthy air vent that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Normally I wouldn’t care, but it was fully clogged with dust and debris… and directly over where people were sitting, eating their pancakes and french toast. One strong gust and your Denver omelette would become a dust & dirt scrambler. That said, it wasn’t a bad egg-sperience(get it? cuz of what I ordered?) Dave and Vicki Allin run a cute diner, I’ll give them that. I was hoping for a quick morning meal, but that I did not receive. I’d understand if they were short staffed in the kitchen, but the dirty air vents are a health and sanitation issue for which there’s really no excuse. Sorry, guys :(

Finally made it in here for breakfast. We came on a weekday, at around 9am, so there was plenty of seating. I can see how a weekend breakfast would be crazy busy and hard to find a table, as this place is small. The waitress was great, she seemed to know all the regular customers and was super friendly. Had biscuits and gravy and the veggie omelet. Love that they allow you to order ½ omelets. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best I have ever had and the omelet was fresh and delicious! This will be our new favorite breakfast stop.

Small, quaint diner, something for everyone. My family and I stopped in here for a brief retreat and to get some good grub. I got the cranberry french toast, it was really good, loved the added cranberries, the only thing I would change is that I would have loved REAL maple syrup with it. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her pancakes, eating her entire short stack, my husband ordered biscuits and gravy which were just SO good. The whole family loved the gravy, real bits of sausage. The hash browns were your typical hash browns, nothing too fancy. The bacon was thinner and crispy, we kind of like the thicker stuff, but hey if the thin crispy kind is your thing, this is the place to go, besides, its still bacon and who doesn’t love bacon! We would go back, but probably in the afternoon to try their lunches!

We were in the area for breakfast last Saturday and stopped in. I’m really glad we came back so I can update my review. Allin’s looks like a regular diner when you walk in the door, but as you sit and survey some of the details, you realize there are some people involved with this restaurant that have no desire whatsoever to be ordinary. First, check out the prices of the daily specials(probably 10 of them, at least). They are like $ 5.06, $ 7.13, $ 6.48. Not sure where these come from unless somebody’s doing a very specific cost calculation. There are about 8 soups to choose from, even on a day when it’s going to get close to 80 degrees. Some eclectic options, too, like carrot dill and cheesy burger soup. Interesting at least. We had fun checking out some of the unusual menu items, most of them seemed to use ordinary items in creative ways. You won’t find truffles or quail eggs here. Sorry, but I didn’t write any of them down, just trust me and check it out. We had pastrami hash and a custom omelet. both were excellent. Service was again attentive and friendly. I hope we find ourselves in the area for breakfast again. Give it a try if you’re in the area.

How have I not written about Allin’s Diner! I adore this tiny, little, cramped diner. It is small. It is tiny. It is wonderful. I am not a breakfast person. I would prefer to skip straight to lunch. Allin’s even wins me over on breakfast. The breakfast quesadilla is so good… and so huge(share it). Cranberry French Toast will have you returning for another visit. Crispy Bacon, Rye Toast, Pancakes… enough said. Now let me discuss lunch. The people at Allin’s make Homemade Soup. This soup sells out fast. There is a reason– it is amazing. Amazing. Allin’s has started posting their soup options on their Facebook Wall daily. They even have Soup Making Classes with the owner. How cool is that! If you get upset about a wait, this is not the place for you. It is small. Remember… good things come in small packages. Allin’s has my heart.

Fast, friendly, cute diner with good food. Had the full house special omelet which was a 6 egg omelet with andouille and sharp cheddar. From ordering to being served food approximately 5 minutes to a hot, fresh, fluffy omelet! They did NOT skimp on the meat or cheese which was great! I also love that they have real cheese not just american. Friendly and attentive waitress. I visited at 7 am on a Sunday so not super busy at the time, in a strip mall with lots of parking. It is a small ish place so may get hopping and have some waiting not sure. Loved it will be back for sure !

Great comfort food!!! We went early on a Sunday morning while the diner was quiet. I started with a half order of biscuits and gravy. It was huge. This is REAL sausage gravy, not some nasty, pasty white gunk. I followed up with two scrambled eggs topped with chili and melted cheese. The chili was fantastic and it was a perfect combination. Sue, our waitress, was friendly and fast. I can understand how this place can be packed later in the day. It’s worth the wait. Don’t get fancy with what you order. Just stick with the delicious basics!

Huge fan of Allin’s! It’s a small, classic diner that will not comfortably fit large groups and may get a bit cramped at peak hours. Seriously though – the parking lot probably can’t fit more than 5 cars. The food, however, is absolutely fantastic and well worth the trip! I ordered eggs over easy with hash browns, sausage, and a side of biscuits and gravy. The eggs were the perfect consistency, and the biscuits and gravy were flavorful and fantastic. The girl I came with ordered the pancakes and they were some of the best pancakes either of us ever had.
