We have dined in this restaurant for multiple times now and we’re never disappointed. The service is always good and the food is wonderful. I especially love their homemade soup(beef & vegetable, Italian wedding, stuff pepper, etc). I can have them every day! So it’s good to know they open 24 hours, so whenever I am craving for soup, I know where to go :)

If you want an awesome meal head to Ginghams! They have an unlimited soup & salad combo that’s easy on the wallet, I love going on Saturday for the Italian Wedding Soup. The buffalo chicken melt is very good if you are into spicy food, it is one of my personal go to menu items. Ginghams also has Frog Legs on the menu, I can honestly say I can’t remember the last time I saw them on a menu. The staff is always pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. I personally ask for Mandy when I go but Lucy & Fred are always good to have serving you also. Ginghams is family-friendly and is open 24 hours. Smoking is allowed after 10pm but i can not detect any hint of the smell in the day. Weather you live here or are just passing thru town Ginghams is a defenate must stop and try restaurant!

My boyfriend and I love this place. I’m from KC and come here every time I’m in St. Charles. You get a massive amount of great food for a good price. Don’t be afraid to branch out and try everything on the menu. Their breakfast stuff is fantastic(try the Hollandaise sauce) but they also have great lunch food too(try the endless house salad).

The fried chicken is a must to order… takes 20 mins for them to cook but worth the wait! The fish is also very good… it’s offered as a weekly special as «all you can eat» and the portions are a good size. The restaurant is very dated and not the kind of place to dress up for. But overall it is a go back to restaurant!

I had avoided them awhile due to a bad experience a few years back, but decided to give em another shot for breakfast the other day. The food and service were good, the prices were reasonable, and thank goodness, they did away with one of my chief complaints; no smoking allowed there anymore except in late night/overnight hours. It’s a good spot for breakfast; better and more reasonable then Denny’s or IHOP.

Ginghams is my favorite restaurant. I have never had a bad meal here! The beef barley soup on Wednesdays is excellent. The unlimited soup is a steal. If you like sweets you must try the sweet potato tart! Craig, the owner, is very nice. Mandy, Lucy, Fred & Diane are my favorite servers. Every time I come in Mandy knows my drink order without me having to say a word. You will have to try the southern chicken & biscuit, it’s beyond words good. Ginghams offers a different special of the day along with a different soup of the day. The wings & waffles is not on the menu but worth ordering! I am a very picky eater & have no trouble at all finding something here to eat! They are open 24/7, drop in anytime.

Great food, great prices, great people, go there. Oh, you want more? Ok, my were and I go bowling and out to eat before I go to work every Saturday, a variant on an old(5+ year) habit, and Gingham’s is the first to earn exclusive status. Seriously, in the last two months, there’s only been one week where we went somewhere else. Why? Variety is the start. I go for breakfast, and i’ve only repeated my choice once, and that’s merely to have them prepare it differently as it was the only unimpressive dish i’ve had(Fiesta breakfast, the hashbrowns drag it down, over fried potatoes like a scrambler, and it is to die for). I’ve never had a bad meal nor bad service. Then there’s the price, it’ll go toe to toe with chains like Denny’s while giving you better food and consistently great service. Speaking of price, they have an online club you can join for discounts, and boy are their discounts. One for singing up, one for hitting the half way point(collect points, get free food i think), one for almost there, plus i think there was one i missed around Christmas. I’m on the email lists for most major restaurants, and that puts them to shame, its a club worth joining. Seriously, if you’re reasonably near and hungry, stop in, you won’t regret it.

Homemade soup, Gingham style. The beef and vegetable soup was loaded with both beef and vegetables. It could have used a bit of salt and pepper but as a homemade soup from a diner it was decent and I would probably order it again. What am I saying? I actually ordered 2 more bowls. Why? Because a couple extra bucks gives you an unlimited bowl which you can mix or match with a different soup or even chili. Probably 3.5 stars but I’ll round it up to 4. Rock on, Gingham style.

If I could give 3.5 stars… I would. It’s just not a 4 star kind of place. It’s a pleasant late night alternative to IHOP. The service is usually okay, but it’s been sketchy once or twice. The prices are just OK for what you get. The food isn’t anything to write home about or go out of your way for; but it is a homestyle place that has good dinner specials.

Sit at the counter and if it was anything like today, you will see people moving and shaking. The service is great. My husband and I tried to find a server that didn’t like the job– and could not find any! And the food was great as usual. I had pigs in a blanket and they never fail to fill me up after the first pig! My husband ordered a ranchero omelet– chili and eggs. He reluctantly offered me a bite– and YUM! That’s on my list to order next time. The place is always busy in the mornings, but worth the wait. They have a large space for hanging out while you wait for a table. And they seem to turn over the tables quickly due to some speedy bus boys that keep it tidy.

The service was good and the food was good. My hamburger was cooked the way I ordered it, well done. A lot of locals go here. Like a glorified Denny’s.

I had a massive craving for meatloaf and searched many menus to find someplace that served after 9pm. BINGO!!! I went on a Tuesday evening and Gingham’s was very busy, but I was seated very quickly and my drink order was on my table, right away. Since I had read the menu online, I was quick to turn to the correct page of the multi page menu.(Lots of great choices on the menu means I’ll have to return soon.) Meatloaf was on my mind so that’s what I ordered. It comes with two sides and you can’t enjoy meatloaf without mashed potatoes, so choice one was made for me. While looking over the large list of other sides, I heard my mothers voice say«eat your vegetables.» So I ordered the green beans. The meatloaf is served with beef gravy and I asked for additional gravy on my potatoes. Once my dinner was served I had to bother my excellent server for even more gravy.(I like my mashed potatoes to be «swimming») The meatloaf was wonderful and the gravy just added to my enjoyment. The only draw back, that I hesitate to mention, is that the scoop of mashed potatoes had to be rationed because I had more meatloaf than potatoes.(I like a bite of each potato/meat on the fork) The green beans had enough bacon included to give them enough flavor to make«eating my vegetables» a pleasure. This single plate of food was plenty to satisfy my craving and even made me so full that I couldn’t finish my desert. Which, by the way, was a huge slice of the strawberry cheesecake. It was very good and was big enough to take half of it home for a late night sweet snack. All this and a soda came to a whopping total of $ 17.50 including tax. Great home cooked food, plenty to eat, excellent value and attentive staff make Gingham’s a definite recommendation.

I’ve been to Gingham’s a number of times — not frequently but several times per year. There are a number of things I like and I would recommend them for a good meal. They are a family run restaurant and that in itself means it deserves consideration. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is well prepared. I thought the service was decidedly slow today(Sunday). I know Sunday is a busy day in the morning. We were a little ahead of the rush but it must have taken almost a half hour to get our food once we ordered. For comparison, the table next to us had the same number in their party(three) and were seated maybe 2 – 3 minutes ahead of us. They were done and on their way out the door just as our food was arriving. I think our waitress was overtaxed because she did not seem to expedite the order and had to be reminded about a side I ordered that did not come to the table.

I have been here and ordered take out many times so it’s about time I posted a review. To sum it up — it doesn’t get much better than this place! Open 24⁄7 and the food tastes as homemade as you can get. The eggs Benedict has been my favorite but I’ve also enjoyed the pot roast, omelets and today I finally tried the chicken fried steak! Huge portions — amazing prices and great customer service. What more could a Unilocaler want?

My goodness! First meal in St. Charles, MO… and let me start off by saying my husband and I love home cooked food and Gingham’s did not disappoint!!! EVERYTHING we had was made there and was delicious! I started with the vegetable beef soup and my husband had the beef barley. So good! Big chunks of flavorful tender beef in both, and they served it with homemade flaky rolls and honey butter — man! We had to put it to the side to make room for the rest! We also ordered the chicken wings — they make their own breading and it was so flavorful — not too thick — again, a hit! Wings were bigger than average, so they were meaty and cooked to perfection! Again, we had to push the platter away to make room for the main dishes! I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, gravy and broccoli. Most tender chicken fried steak I’ve ever had! Gravy was excellent too! My husband had eggs benedict — not exactly my thing, but I could see a thick slab of ham in there and he said it was top notch! All this, plus drinks(sweet tea that’s brewed there!!) for $ 35.00. And the service??? Excellent! Hayden gets 5 stars! Will DEFINITELY eat here again when we are in town!

There a reasons to be doing cross country road trips and this is one of them. It ain’t no haute cuisine and I ain’t expecting it to be. Start with a layer of fried potatoes, layer on a couple scrambled eggs, add a layer of fried chicken bits, and pour on sausage gravy. Add a biscuit on the side with more sausage gravy. Dashes of hot sauce and you’ve got fuel for 400 miles. Staff was fun, joking around with the regulars about our VT license plate and decent coffee. These are times that warm men’s souls.

Had friends recommend this place as best for breakfast for a long time now. Finally made it out there and it *is* worth a visit. Though, we got lunch instead of breakfast. The short! Very nice restaurant. Well lit, clean, comfortable, nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Food was delicious! Price was great with nice portions. Not very noisy(we were there on an off-time tho) and good oldies music at just the right volume. Well worth a visit! ==== The long! The restaurant: Well lit, clean, comfortable Have nice restrooms, plenty of cushy waiting area seating(in case its busy). Nice booth seating for 2 or more. Was kept cool but not cold(at least to us). The food: Delicious! Started with toasted ravioli which was great. Served nice and hot with a heaping portion of marinara sauce. To me, tasted as good as or better than Pasta House ravioli which has been my favorite for years. Their salad portions are also huge. We added them to our meals thinking they’d be small. It was $ 1.99 cost to add but it could have been a meal all by itself and was well worth it. Be careful though: if you eat the whole salad you may not have room for the rest of your meal! If you’re a bacon fan, you *have* to try their salads. Both the house special salad and the dinner one I had included cheese and bacon. I may never eat another salad without cheese nd bacon again. The Philly Steak and The Supreme sandwiches were awesome. Cooked just right. Fries were yummy. Gladly gave me additional BBQ sauce for my fries. The sandwiches were large as well. The price: Great! Most of what they offer is $ 10 or below. The only ones I saw go above that were some of the entrees on the back of the menu. Ours were $ 9.29 each and were well worth it. The atmosphere: Nice! We were there on a Thursday afternoon around 3:30 so it was in-between meals. Still had a nice amount of patrons. Not too noisy, music was great oldies and not too loud. It was nice that you didn’t have to speak up to have a nice conversation. The service: Nice, friendly, attentive but not overbearing The staff were attentive and nice. Never had to ask for a drink refill and empty dishes were removed quickly, also without asking. Most place I’ve gone to, they usually come by to ask you how things are while your mouth is full. This is a rare place where our waitress timed it just right to ask us when we could actually respond without just nodding our heads. When we went to pay and leave, the checkout staff was very nice, friendly and fast. Wonderful first experience! Added to our list of great places to eat. We will be back!

I lived in St. Charles many years and never have stopped in here. They had some of the best home style food I’ve had in a minute. On top of that they had some cool oldies tunes. Definitely chill diner atmosphere. I had the Irish Benedict with corned beef hash, onions and peppers. It’s so good. They even had a Italian Benedict and a Spanish Benedict. I’ve never seen these approaches on an a Benedict before. Very creative. We were happy with the food and service. The parking lot is a bit small and fills quickly in the mornings.

In town for a wedding and wanted a good breakfast place to meet other out-of-town family and friends, and Unilocal led us here. Fast seating for our large group on a Sunday even though it was PACKED! Good service and plenty of drink refills without asking :) Food was really good, especially my fried chicken scramble! Yum Yum! Only complaint was very very little butter on our toast, no one in our group liked that. Will come back if we ever hit up St Louis again in the future!

Gingham’s has to be St. Charles County’s best local diner. A bunch of guys and I go up here every week or two in the evening, and this place is always packed. It’s 24 hours open too, so that’s always a plus. Food: The food is nothing fancy — it’s a diner. But it’s just plain good food. You’d be hard put to find a bad item on the breakfast menu. The lunch and dinner menus are also pretty good. I’ve tried multiple items from the burgers and sandwiches — not as much from entrees. Everything has been good so far. HIDDENGEMSONTHEMENU: 1) Fiesta breakfast is AMAZING. Chorizo, peppers, salsa, eggs, all mixed in with a few other goodies. It’s the best breakfast specialty item on their menu. 2)(and best) Chicken Quesadilla. I could eat those things ALLDAYLONG. They are absolutely awesome. Very crispy on the outside and very full of cheese and lots of meat inside. I was shocked the first time i ordered one. Not what I would have assumed to pick at a diner, but a buddy of mine was right. Quesadilla hands down. Service: We’ve always been treated very well. Some of the staff knows us by now, some don’t, but the greeters and register employees have always been fast, efficient, and friendly. The wait staff has been excellent. Always talkative and friendly and fast at refills and service. They also put up with us so that’s a plus. lol Settings: The restaurant is actually set up pretty nice. It can get loud when there’s a full dining room, but it’s fine. They do have smoking hours after 8:30pm I think, but it’s really not noticeable unless you’re there on the smoking side of the restaurant at smoking hours. Otherwise it never seems to smell like smoke. Overall: A rating. Good food, good service, and a fun place to hang out or have dinner. I’m a happy customer that will keep coming back.
