This is a cute hole in the wall mom and pop joint. It’s really cute and cozy. The staff is quick to refill you water, but the best part is the side dishes! There’s so many side dishes! I only had to ask twice for refills :) yeah, as you can tell I love food. I ordered the Kimchi pork and tofu soup and sadly, it did not hit the spot. There wasn’t any flavor, so I added Kimchi from the side dish and it still didn’t taste right. I won’t be ordering this again. We also ordered 3 other dishes, but they all lacked flavor. Sorry, but the dishes were bland. As for the atmosphere, it was cute, but a little too crowded because the waitresses kept bumping into me. At one point, she almost poured water over me. She bumped into my shoulder once and twice on my chair. So that was quite annoying.

I always like YD House– 1st choice of Korean food! We came on a Saturday night with a party of 10, I figured there will be a good amount of wait time maybe 30 mins or so, but when we got there, we were seated in 10 mins, which was good! We had an idea of what we wanted to order and some drinks. We ordered yangnman chicken which is like fried chicken with their house sauce. We also order bulgogi beef, Kim chi tofu soup, seafood tofu soup, and potstickers. The chicken was good, but it didn’t come until last which most of us were getting full. The bulgogi was very tender. Both soup was good and flavorful. We also ordered 4 beers and 4 soju bottles. It came out pretty quick. I would definitely come back here again

Had the worst service today from this place. Funny thing is I come here all the time. Did not get this kind of service when the owner was there. I couldn’t even get a refill of water. When I ask the waitress she rolled her eyes and gave me an attitude. I did not tip the waitress and she had the nerves to say people have a job too and says the other people tipped her. WTF. I was super disappointed in the service and attitude I received today.

Bulgogi, kimchi jige and dolsot bibimbob so many things I cannot pronounce that are so good. There were also about 20 assorted bowls of other goodness. I highly recommend to all.

Ok. More like a 3.5 star. Living on Torrance really shone the way for quality and competitively delightful Korean dishes. This place has its ups and downs. Service was pretty good other than the fact our table was given up to somebody else as we were about to be seated. Typical Asian manners. What blew my mind was the large amount of banchan that came with the meal that you just need a small dish and fill up on the banchans and rice. I ordered the soondupoo because A. it’s so funny to say. B. tofu stone pot after a full day of snowboarding sounded amazing! It was a 3.5÷5 star soondupoo. The chicken katsu we could have done without– leave it to the Japanese restaurants to perfect that. The one item you should NOT miss is the beautiful shortribs. It’s on the pricier end for a fair portion but melt in your mouth tasty.

A Korean friend recommended this place to me for good, authentic Korean food. He told me everything here is good & you get a lot of banchan; the more people you have in your party, the more banchan you shall receive. I came here a several times & ordered takeout a few times. Despite having mixed feelings about this place, I’ve decided on 3.5 star rating-rounded up to 4. If you’re dining in(solo), you can expect to receive roughly 10 banchan(side dishes) all for yourself. My first time here, I ordered kimchi dol sot bibimbap(the one in a huge sizzling hot stone pot). I barely finished ½ of it – seeing as how I filled up on banchan. I realized that I could’ve saved a dollar by ordering the«regular» dol sot bibimbap since kimchi was already a given side dish *epic D’OH!* The hot stone pot bibimbap is one of my faves to order here when I’m hungry & even when it’s a hot summer day when I could’ve opted out of the stone pot & got the«cold» one. It’s huge – you pay $ 13 for this, so I feel it’s worth it. Perhaps it’s the bottom layer of rice caramelizing on the bottom of the pot. I also tried the galbi, bulgogi & «famous» nam nyun fried chicken. I thought both the bulgogi & galbi were pretty good – I can’t compare it to any other restaurants though since it was my «first time» restaurant-wise. My friend said the meat portions seemed to have gotten a bit smaller than before – or perhaps it’s because he didn’t come with his family who come here often.(Special treatment?) The«famous-must try» nam kyung fried chicken was a major disappointment for me since I had high expectations of it. It wasn’t bad & tasted OK, but it wasn’t something to spend $ 15 on. It’s definitely something I’d tell others to pass on to save money. I’ve had better. My most recent visit was a take out for ddeokbokki(spicy rod-shaped rice cakes). I phoned in my order, got stuck in a bit of traffic, arrived 20 mins & it still wasn’t ready. No problem, the lady went to check on it, I heard scrambling in the kitchen & sizzles. About 8mins l received my box of steaming hot goods. The lady gave me a small box of japchae for having to wait. I arrived home & the ddeokbokki sauce leaked out of the box into the bag(as per usual). It still tasted great, just messy. The japchae was off though: It had an aftertaste of rancidity/spoiled food. I kept eating it because I was still trying to figure out what part of it has gone bad. Perhaps it was left out too long? The cabbage & carrot shreds were crisp, so it couldn’t be «old»; the noodles were fine & the initial taste was fine; but there was still that aftertaste. I’ve concluded that it was the sesame oil that had spoiled. Unfortunately that finishing touch to the dish had ruined it. I hate to waste food, although I love japchae & I figured I can ignore that aftertaste, I listened to my instincts & threw it out.(No stomach/health problems followed). The service here is ok. The lady I usually see here every time is blunt & straightforward with things. She seems like she has some sass to her, but she does her job well.(Plus I find her absolutely hilarious sometimes). She’s capable of handling the floor solo: she seats you, brings your drinks, side dishes, takes & brings your order. You may(or may not) have to go up to the counter to ask for your check though. If you order too much food & ask for«too many» to-go boxes(more than 2), you may get a stink-eye from her while she’s pondering about whether or not to give it to you. If your remaining leftovers look worthy enough for another box, she’ll give it to you. She may engage in some random conversations with you too. The times I had bibimbap & she noticed that I was eating the dish without adding the red sauce(gochujang), she would come up to the table, question why I wasn’t using the sauce, & encourage me to use it, saying it wasn’t spicy & that it’s good. I’d tell her I liked the dish as it is & it’s still good without it(I like to taste my food 1st& see how it is before adding any needed extras to it). She’d leave the table(no pressure) & go back behind the counter. After I finally added the red sauce(I presume she was looking at me), she’d return to the table & re-iterate how good the sauce was with the dish & walk back behind the counter. The atmosphere is dim & can become noisy as more patrons enter the house. I find the wooden booths I usually frequent at nice – giving an olden-days feel to the place. There’s also a separate room with more«modern/normal» typical restaurant seating. I love how this place opens late, but wish it was closer to me & in a better area.

This place is pretty good. I think the reason why I’m giving it 4 stars is because of the sheer number of banchans that you get with your meal. Last I counted, it was 12. The kalbi and spicy port were pretty good, as was the seafood pancake. The tofu soup was about average. Anyways, the food is better than average and you get an incredible amount of banchans. You can’t go wrong.

I love tofu houses so of course let’s find anyone and try it out right! This place is small like every other tofu house. The workers are super friendly. They give you so many side dishes it’s amazing and so good! The meat portion and dishes are huge so it’s good to share! I’m just a little disappointed in the soup it was very bland and wasn’t my favorite. But everything else is A+ my favorite food item was the seafood pancake!

We finally got to try this place that everyone’s been telling us about for awhile. We are so use to just eating at Oz Korean Bbq. So We expected the same type of style. We were kind of wrong lol. The portions is By each item you order. Which we were kind of confused on how big the portion was lol. We went overboard and ordered more than we can eat. I must say we did love the unlimited sides that come with food. One of the items we ordered was the fried chicken and from Unilocal pictures we’ve seen I figured it was party wing size but we are wrong it was like a regular drumstick size and we order 3 dishes of that! Lol downside is that it doesn’t taste as good as it looked. I was expected an explosion like whoaaaa this is good but no was a little disappointed . Other then that everything else was good. Now we’ve experience that we will be back.

This place was a little disappointing. Everything was either okay or not too great. Although they have about 10+ banchan, none of them stood out or made me want to get seconds. The kimchi had no flavor except that it looked really red and was a little spicy. My favorite banchan was probably the squid. Of all the food we ordered, my favorite was the stone bibimbap. It was loaded with assorted veggies and sides… exactly how I like it! Leave it alone for a little longer and the rice gets extra crispy. Disappointed that they didn’t have purple rice when we went, but oh well. We also ordered tofu soup(extremely hot and bubbly, but only tasted okay), seafood pancake(sauce that comes with it makes the pancake taste a lot better) and chicken wings(drenched in sauce, slightly spicy and has a hint of sweetness). Between YD and Mo Du Rang, I definitely like Mo Du Rang more, but this place was worth a try. Food wasn’t horrible, but it was just average
