I could now believe the smell. It smelled look dirty feet. The floors were so filthy and the carpet was worn down, I think that was carpet it may have been 30 layers of dirt. I ordered a margaritas that tasted like the kind you buy already made in the bottle. Seriously how can a bartender now know how to make a margarita? The seats are torn and stained if they had a black light this place would show all the filth. I am sure all these folks who gave 5 stars are the regulars… Someone said this place was clean. I wouldn’t take their word for it. The need Bar Rescue! NASTIESTBAREVER. They are a dive bar alright smells like the dived into a swamp!

Great dive bar! Patrons friendly, bartenders rock, outdoor smoking area, cheap drinks, what more could one ask for! Don’t expect much otherwise and you won’t be disappointed!

I’m sad that the Mushroom Lounge isn’t closer to me because otherwise I would adopt it as my new home bar. This is my kind of dive! A dim venue with a mellow atmosphere and lots of room, an enclosed back patio, a pool room with 2 tables, and a friendly bartender who pours stiff, cheap drinks and chats with the locals. Then there’s those quirky little endearments that make a dive bar awesome: the retro fireplace table in the middle of the room with the(sadly) non-functioning fireplace, the super random bottles of flavored booze that make you wonder who’s ordering that in a place like this(«What the hell do you use cilantro vodka for, anyway? A salsa shot?»), the crusty old regular who for some reason plays multiple Celine Dion songs in a row on the jukebox. If this place was at all within walking or biking distance, I would happily wile away hours here. Keep it funky, Mushroom, you put the FUN in fungus.

Come here for strong drinks. This building though is in desperate need of repairing. The crowd can range from friendly to Scary. The mushroom is deffinately a wild card. You never know what you will get!

This is not a bad place to hang at at but honestly– The place is dirty and smells like an old toilet bowl! Definitely in need of a remodel!

Awesome neighborhood dive bar. Bartenders are friendly and the crowd can be eclectic, to say the least. Coming with a group of friends will allow you to set your own tone for the night. Cheap drinks, cash only bar.

This dive bar would probably be better for an afternoon drink. We went late at night and I didn’t get a good vibe. We left within about 15mins.

Rosemont’s only bar. The Mushroom Lounge is trip down memory lane, near the neighborhood of 1970 something. A good watering hole for that Friday after work beer.

Place is old and needs to be updated badly. It is also located in somewhat of a rough area… but the drinks are cheap ! There are pool tables and you can play music of your choice.

The Bar: Cluttered with décor on the walls behind the bar. A gigantic bra. Christmas lights that don’t work, dollar bills signed by patrons, mardi gras beads everywhere. There was a fireplace in the middle of the bar, which we can imagine may be hazardous amongst drunks. Large smoking patio which allowed drinks, but was very bright, almost like sitting in a hospital waiting room. Unfortunately they don’t have draft or PBR, but not everyone can be perfect. The Crowd: None, just some local friends who lived up there and showed me around. Service: Great. We were the only ones in the whole place. We had the bartenders undivided attention. Prices: Cheap. Wasted on $ 25.00 Entertainment: Few TV’s, 2 pool tables, electronic dart board, various video games. Internet Jukebox. Restroom: The bathroom, well, quite nasty, but most dives are the same when it comes to cleanliness. Bartender Chat: The bartender was cool and was all about us promoting there place. Closing statement: Overall great little dive. Cheap drinks, stiff pour and chill crowd for what was there on a Tuesday night.

I loved this place! $ 4 mixed drinks, are you kidding me?! You can’t beat that. It’s a dark and danky but it’s a dive bar. I really enjoyed hanging out here last weekend and I’m sure I will be back!

Neighborhood Dive! If you’re looking for anything else, prepare to be disappointed. However, if you are looking for a neighborhood dive bar with stiff drinks, great prices, and an atmosphere that hasn’t changed much since the late 70’s, then you’ll have a blast. Don’t forget this is a dive bar that belongs to the Rosemont neighborhood. Don’t come in thinking you’re anything special. Everyone knows each other and works to protect each other and a safe, fun environment. Just because it’s Rosemont doesn’t mean you can come in acting like a fool, unless you want to get thrown out like one. If you’re down to have a low-key night and possibly make some new friends with a colorful crowd then that’s exactly what you’ll have. If you see me walking through, stop and say hi!

This is a great dive bar! It has a lot of regulars and the bartenders are always friendly. They even do neighborhood cookoffs. Only reason it didn’t get five stars is because sometimes there are some sketchy people hanging out front(not patrons) and it’s dingy inside. But hey, that kinda makes the place unique!

*DIVEDIVEDIVE!!!* [No, that isn’t the Klaxon horn of a submarine submerging. Instead, you have entered the«Dive Bar Zone!”] SITREP Local bar here in the Rosemont community and so not far from where I live. It beats having to drive or lightrail down to the Sacramento grid if it’s a weeknight… SETUP Strong drinks. STRONGDRINKS. And the bartenders are accommodating enough to make you a special if you know what to put in it. No need to ask for drink specials since all the drinks are pretty low-cost to begin with. Not the particularly most cutting edge, hipster, cool kat sort of crowd, especially since most of the peeps are suburban locals to the the Rosemont neighborhood. But for me that is a primary benefit of coming here to get to know some of my neighbors better… THELOWDOWN The Mushroom Lounge is a great local hangout for me…

Well… not sure what to write on this one. I know quite a few people that live over my the mushroom and everytime they have asked me to go I have declined. A girls night out with a friend(who also lives near there) and we ended up in diviest bar in Sac. Bartendar was nice, drinks were strong. We were the youngest people in there and probably the only people in there that get manicures and and highlights. I felt very overdressed and out of place.

Sill Love this place. Just kinda wished that more people knew about it and give it a shot. Love introducing new people to this place and I’ve never taken someone and not had them go «OMG i’m SO coming back» I wish they would put a lock on the mens room though. thats about my only complaint about the place.

This is the type of dive bar where the rocker men I meet have longer hair than i do. Pretty chill, in a suburban neighborhood. Drinks are on the budget. Normal bar shenanigans — darts, pool, patio, non-random neon signs.

Im not a club person ATALL! I dont like going to those«young, hip» places where you have to take forever to get ready just to fit in. I dont like going out trying to have fun with friends only to be harassed by some guy who thinks my goal for the night is to make him happy. Even worse when they hit on you and DONT buy you a drink. I do however enjoy coming to the Mushroom because not once have I been hit on. I can come here in jeans and a t-shirt and just relax with whatever drink I choose. The people here are very nice. I have been invited to birthday parties and given a free pitcher of beer by an old fella who simply said«I’ve been drinking beer all day and its time to switch to the hard stuff» …This is one of those places where you make a new little drinking buddy, sit back and drink, play a game of pool, shoot some darts or just watch the big screen. Extra Bonus: If you are friends with them on facebook you will be alerted of the daily drink specials. How considerate is that?! =)

I really like this place. Why? Well, I live right behind it. Seriously. I can see this place from my back patio. So close, I can shine my kitty laser pointer toy, into THEIR back patio from mine *so if you saw a tiny red dot, no you weren’t being assassinated*. The drinks are cheap. The bartenders are chill *and will tell you if you’re being stupid*((at least to me)). There’s a back patio for lung killing. Pool tables. A juke box. And regulars. One draw back: cash only(ATM available). But who cares! This place is awesome. Never mind I can get totally smashed and walk home in less than 3 minutes, it’s still awesome! I almost don’t want to move to another apartment complex because I have a neighborhood bar. The people who drink here are all nice, if not a little bit tipsy, people. But I never had any issues with anyone. Everyone is so relaxed(but again… tipsy). This place I consider a dive. No(large) college crowd, people tend to be in their mid 20s or later. They place dice at the bar(of course) and there are some awesomely outdated Budweiser posters of ladies in bathing suits. This is the place you want to go to if all you want is a place to get your *drank* on and not bother with snooty girls or mega-douchy guys who try to act like they belong on ‘Jersey Shore’. Totally relax, you don’t even have to put make-up on to go there(and God forbid I have!). Bonus: Next door is a really yummy(but almost Americanized) Korean restaurant that is open late on weekends. Why eat Del Taco **ewww** when you can have Kim Chee fried rice?!

As the representative dive bar on this side of Rosemont, it will have to do. Though I didn’t experience any psychedelic episodes, I did experience the release of inhibitions associated with alcohol use. The jukebox is connected to the internet, so you have an almost indescribably wide variety to choose from. It is always quiet in here, which is cool if you are chillaxin’(relax and chillin’). Entertainment is darts and pool. I heard they have a band there sometimes, but I’ve never seen it.
