I’ve made the drive from Chico to Sacramento just to come to Moxy and shop. I love this store! The building is little but there are lots of pretties inside. They always have fun tops, skirts, jackets, dresses, accessories, and their purses… I don’t buy purses anywhere else! I like the fact that even though this place has the basics, everything has that extra bit of something that makes it stand out from other stores. They have layering tank tops here, which every other place has, but these ones are longer and don’t fall apart when you wear them for a couple months, yay! Yes yes I am fully aware that they play that game with you where they mark up the prices sky high but always have a 50% off«sale» going on, but that’s okay with me because I always get compliments on anything I buy here. They have a quality product, and it’s not the same old junk you see everyone buying from the same old stores. I adore this store.

There isn’t a lot of clothing stores in Old Sac worth checking out. I always admired this store, but when it comes to actually finding an outfit to buy I couldn’t find anything even at 50% off. They had some really cute classic style dresses but the patterns didn’t fit my taste, and the strapless dresses were for smaller chested women. I come across in these outfits as looking tacky instead of sweet and sultry. I desperately wanted to find something to buy while here but I couldn’t find anything worth investing in.

Super cute little fun store! I love the tank tops I got there, super comfy and cute and my maxi skirt I found there(been hard to find one that fits me right, I am not tall or super short, and can never find one that fits, until now! Lol) and the prices are reasonable, clothing of good quality and great customer service ;) I can’t wait to go back!

I don’t know how I feel about stores like Moxy that tout«50% off the entire store!» sales all year round. If it’s always 50% off, it’s not really 50% off. It seems like every time I come to this store, the prices get higher, and the 50% off sale stays. Interesting plan. They have cute things, but not a great selection, and even at the«sale price», it’s way overpriced.

While the inlaws were in town a few weeks ago we did the obligatory walk around Old Sacramento. While they were browsing in another store I wandered [escaped] into Moxy Threads in an attempt to waste some time [lose them]. Everything in the store was 50% off but the sale signs looked like they were semi-permanent fixtures which leads me to believe that everything is always 50% off and the regular prices are higher to reflect that. Their plan worked though, and I walked away with a small leather purse for 35 $. A small price to pay for a few minutes away from the inlaws.

We had to check out Old Sacramento when the ‘rents were in town. Came a little late to take the train warehouse tour but alas, the gods were still smiling on us as we got a sweet parking spot(with time still on the meter!) and found this store when wandering the Old Sac streets. Trying to capitalize on the tail end of the tourist season, the store was having a 50% off sale. Actual conversation between my mother and I: Mom: Wow, Sacramento has tourists? Really? Me: Well, I guess you’re a tourist, aren’t you? Mom: Oh yeah, I am. Now, back to Moxy. The store was packed with goodies without being too overbearing. Some of it was a little kitchy but it suited our tastes. Got a fabulous, little silver dog tag(for Mr. Mister, the world’s most handsome dachshund) that read Lady Killer with a heart and dagger emblem. Also picked up a lounge lizard mug, some fun stationery and birthday cards, and a dress or two. The woman behind the counter was really pleasant and gave us a little background on the store — the same owners have had it for around twenty years. This is a(secret) Sacramento institution! Previously, I had only been driving around Old Sac(really fun, btw! Driving on the cobble stone feels like being in a car during an earthquake but without the pesky fear of thinking that the world will soon end) with the intention of browsing but couldn’t find any parking. However, now I know how easy it is to get there by light rail and that Moxy awaits me. I will be back.
