Mocha’s Cafe and Grill – Caltrans

This place is a really good spot to pick up a quick inexpensive lunch; their cookies are amazing.

I usually only come here for coffee but thought I’d give this place another try for lunch, since I was desperate. The food is not consistent. For some reason, they love to burn their food. If you order a burger/​chicken sandwich, the bun is always burned. Same with toast and their cookies. But my biggest complaint has to be the customer service. For some reason, the two main guys are always in a bad mood and they take it out on their customers. God forbid, if they’re out of sugar or coffee, and you ask them to refill, they will roll their eyes at you. It’s not our fault, if you don’t want to do it, work somewhere else. I also noticed one of them did not wash their hands after handling money.

Horrible customer service at this place. I have ordered three cheese quesadilla three times. On the menu it says it comes with sour cream and salsa for the chips, the third time it did not have any of the salsa or sour crème and the chips are ALWAYS old. You can always tell by the body language of the people I’ve seen working here are always annoyed and take it out on customers. I DO NOT recommend this place. ZERO stars but I had to put at last one to post this.

Hannah has won me over with her imaginative menu and great personality. Her staff are great and her mongolian bbq is getting better and better with new items added regularly. Her salad bar is the best to be found anywhere nearby and the quality is superb. I’m so happy we have Hannah in our cafeteria now.

They did it again, Sweet Mother! I ordered a turkey wrap — AMAZING! Red red tomato basil wrap, turkey, cucumbers, lettuce, cheese, tomato, cranberry salsa and a very light ranch dressing. All served up with a side of fresh fruit. BOMBTastic!

Its Just getting worse, no consistency with food & portions. You expect one thing and you get another. Complete staff overhaul that needs to be over hauled. Suggest going across to SOS, you know what your getting every time.

I buy breakfast here once or twice per week. Their omelettes are really good and prepared quickly.

Finally! After having this cafeteria open and close something like 4 times, it looks like someone is here to stay. The super nice owner and staff handed out free samples and coffee during their grand opening week, and the food is good enough to come back and pay for. They also have my beloved Peet’s coffee that is hard to find in this neighborhood. The prices aren’t bad at all and are comparable to the other state cafeterias around here. The food is definitely high quality. My new addiction is the mini scone with glaze that they sell every day for breakfast for $ 1.
