Lewis Apartments

Great location, beautiful building, beautiful views.
Management is very professional and the building is in great shape for being 100 years old. I currently reside here and I’m very happy at Lewis Apartments.

Be careful! This is a beautiful building without a doubt, but it is being run by questionable people. We viewed the apartment without meeting Debby because she had a personal issue to attend to… in hindsight we wish we had met her, which would have helped us steer clear of this apartment complex and management company. We were accepted into living there under one set of circumstances because of past credit problems (we have perfect recent credit and rental history).After giving us enough time to cancel on the other apartments we were accepted into, the manager Debby ended up switching the terms into ones illegal in the state of CA, not only illegal but a total bait and switch. When we called her on the illegality of the new terms she withdrew our acceptance into the apartment! Trying to have an intelligent conversation with her about it was impossible, and the entire situation was a bait and switch that would have cost us dearly if we hadn’t had quite a few other places we had been accepted into (none of which had extra/​unnecessary demands about the details of our moving in).
I’m pretty sure we just dodged a bullet on this one. When management finds it this easy to go back on their word it’s not a place you’d want to invest your life and money into. Be careful about renting from untrustworthy people!

This is a beautiful building and a great location. Many of the units have a view of the capital. The manager Debby is really helpful and nice, and the building is well maintained. I looked for an apartment in Sacramento for a while before finding the Lewis and I was very happy with my rental and experience here.
