Small joint on a busy road for semi trucks. Food is delicious, especially their chilli fries. A single patty burger starts nearly 4 dollars and cheese burger is at 4. They charge for debit and wouldn’t accept credit if under 10.95 otherwise you have to have cash. Overall fast and convenient place to eat on lunch.

Always passed by this place going to Sac State. Finally decided to stop by and try it out. The place is small but the food was great. All freshly made and did not take very long, but maybe because it was not a busy time. I ordered a big cheese burger lunch special and substitute my regular fries with a chili cheese fries. The burger has a charbroiled taste like you would find in Carl’s Jr., and the chili cheese fries has a sweet taste to it. Overall, a great place to stop by and try out.

Stopped in on a whim… fascinated by the generic name seen on the unassuming sign …So misleading… The burgers are well sided fresh made and juicy; with some nice fresh chopped onions and seasoning mixed in. The fries were fresh, crispy and nicely garlicky. Ordered the chicken strip basket for my oldest. Excellent beer-batter over nice fresh strips of chicken breast good portion with a nice side of those fries. He devoured them like a starving longshoreman. The house salad was a generous portion of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded cheese and croutons(My youngest loves veggies and happily tucked in.) The hubby got the Ultimate Double Cheeseburger two of those big fresh aforementioned burgers with two types of cheese and the expected veggies. It was huge– he definitely needed both hands to wrangle it. It also came with those fries. Service is admirable. You’re seated and orders taken tableside. Prices were Very reasonable. Now…looking forward to going back and trying that dinner menu…

Some of the nicest people around own and run Joe’s. I have had just about everything on the menu and everything has been well above average.

Joe’s Burger Shack is tucked into a modest-sized enclave along picturesque Florin-Perkins Road in South Sacramento. I chose from their selection of giant burgers because the restaurant has the word«Burger» in its name. Perhaps this was a miscalculation as most reviews are extremely favorable towards the breakfast fare and the sandwiches. I chose the Giant Bacon Cheeseburger since I like bacon, cheese, burger and the Giants. The burger loved up to its Giant billing, it was a hefty sucker. They used a good quality thick-cut bacon, which I appreciated. However, the burger patty itself didn’t have enough flavor for me and the bun was too much bread. I was underwhelmed BUT I was full. You get a lot of food for your dollar. Service was extremely friendly, which was baffling in contrast to the«No public bathroom — Don’t Ask!» sign on the door and the sign on the drink machine denying free refills.

Happy I found this place on Unilocal and tried it today. It’s right around the corner from work and I’ve never realized it was there. I had the pastrami burger, it was really good. Prices are very reasonable for a burger place like this, went right at lunch time, moderately crowded, but was still pretty quick. Didn’t spend any more than I would have at Burger King, and for a much better and more satisfying meal without doubt!!!

About average for South Sac but that’s not saying much. Food is nothing special, went once to see what it was all about, but won’t go back unless they are only option.

Pretty decent burger. Great lunch specials for the price. Love the buns they use on their burgers. Little tough to get to due to the busy intersection, but worth it.

This is a great burger joint near the intersection of Florin Perkins and Elder Creek Road. They have a good selection of burgers and sandwiches. They also serve breakfast.

I’ve passed by this place so many times over the last few years and it’s so plain looking on the outside that I never stopped and really wasn’t even sure that it wasn’t an old abandoned building. Then a few weeks ago I was in the neighborhood and starving and saw a couple trucks pull into the parking lot so I went ahead and stopped too. The first thing I noticed was the hand written sign on the door stating that they don’t have a bathroom on site which was almost enough for me to turn around and walk away but I was hungry and wasn’t in need of relief quite yet so I wandered on in. the menu was simple and prices… a little steep but not outrageous/unreasonable like squeeze inn down the street. I went ahead and got the special which was a single burger, fries, and drink(no free refills). I think it was about 7.99 for the combo. the lady behind counter was friendly enough and I don’t think I ever saw her stop smiling. She also knew just about every customer that came in by name so I know they thrive on repeat business. I got my burger and I must say that for a mom and pop hole in the wall restaraunt, that was a great burger and like I saw someone else mention, good bread as well. The soda was properly mixed, unlike a lot o fast food places that weaken it so far it barely holds its color. The best part was when j finished my meal, I took a stroll to see what was in the back room where I saw slot of people disappear to. there was a television back there and… a bathroom! I was quite thankful to find out that the sign of door is just there to discourage new patrons and customers from entering and discovering the good food thus leaving more for the rest of us.

Although a bit hard to pull into because it’s isolated location on a very busy street, I’m happy I tried out their $ 4.99 breakfast burrito special(comes with coffee or soda). Theburrito had eggs, hash browns, sausage, was extremely tasty and filling! The lady at the front was so friendly as well.

Had the egg salad with thousand island and the bbq beef sandwich. Delicious! The salad was simple but so well executed, I will be going back. The sandwich was really tasty if a bit smaller than expected. Really good lunch prices, I would definitely recommend the place. A+

I don’t usually Unilocal!,but when I do… Let start off by saying Joe’s Burger café was stupendous! I went in about 1:30pm on a Friday. The place was not busy at all. Which works out twice as nice for me #1 I hate waiting in lines and #2 I was on my lunch break. #winning– I was greeting by the cashier who was very friendly(she even said I looked like I lifted weights), she recommended a daily special(there were like four to choose from) so I added an extra patty to the bacon cheeseburger meal. I received my order very quickly and was on promptly my way. All I can say is wow! The burger was huge and not just because of the dbl patty the patties themselves were nice and thick. The flavor of the burger was on point and delectable. I added mustard(personal preference) but it didn’t need it. The fries were crinkle cut and complimented the burger like a bow tie on a nice tux! And then what do ya know I took my last bite and was finished with my meal:(Needless to say I was well satisfied! I grabbed a menu before I left because my co-workers are always looking for new places to eat lunch and this is now definitely on the list. If you get a chance don’t hesitate to stop in and grab a bite to eat, you won’t be disappointed! I know I wasn’t.

I ordered the grilled chicken. The lady was really nice, but my food was kind of saucy. It felt like it was made to satisfy American tastebuds. I was also amused by the sign on the door, «Bathroom only for customers. Please don’t even ask.»

I have only had breakfasts at Joe’s(yes — this burger place is open for breakfast) and they are well worth it! My favorite is «Joe’s Breakfast Special» — a great American-Asian fusion plate with marinated sliced beef, onions, mushrooms, asian spices, two eggs(any style) served over a bed of steamed rice. Very delicious and very filling.

Great lunch time spot. Right down the street from where I work. The first time a came I had the pastrami burger, it was amazing! The prices are fair and the portions are filling. Nice quality buns as well as the pastrami. The staff has always been very nice and welcoming. Give them a shot you won’t regret it.

Decided to try out a new sandwich spot today. It was pretty empty in the shop, but the owner was super friendly. They had specials of the day and all their items were really good prices. I tried the turkey melt sandwich that came with fries and that cost about $ 7. The bread was crunchy and the sandwich itself was toasty. Didn’t feel greasy or overwhelming to eat which was a plus.
