My whole family came and eat here today as one of our gavorite Chinese rest. The service is good and fast. We ordered as usual. We like to order Salty fish and chicken fried rice all the time. This time It was so salty that we did not even touched it. The rest are all good like fried plunder fish, house special fried chow mien and honey walnut syrimp. Parking is no problem. We still like it here and we still recommeds to our friends. Price is reasonable. Its really an auntentic chinese foods.

The food here is good, especially for the price. But the service is SLOW. They make orders in the order they come in, and it seems like they make every dish in the order before moving on to the next one. If you ordered the exact same dishes as the table next to you, one minute before they placed their order, each dish in your order will get brought to your table before they start to make each dish in the next table’s order. While I generslly don’t expect cheap Chinese restaurants to be all that well managed, this is the most ridiculously inefficient kitchen management I’ve ever seen. They should cut the dining room down to half its current size, because the kitchen obviously cannot keep up with the number of tables. You definitely need to make a reservation and place your order ahead before dining at dinner time on a busy weekend. We waited an hour after placing our order to be served our dinner, which we ordered at 5pm on a Sunday evening. But I recommend skipping this place entirely on the weekend.

Food is more traditional Chinese style you can order it anyway you want and the chicken fried rice a more American style dish is probably best in town. The Singapore rice noodle before the remodel back in 2000 – 2010 they used to place a few scrambled eggs on top, this is what i miss most about this excellent restaurant. The waiters and waitresses aren’t very talkative anymore but other then that it is a great place.

We got the chow young rice, cashew nut chicken, and honey walnut shrimp. The rice was decent. That being said, the shrimp was off because the glaze was doughy and almost«cakey». The cashew nut chicken was terrible, the chicken not only looked bad but tasted awful, I sincerely think the meat was past expiration. Based on this one experience I am not likely to go back and would not recommend this to anyone… that’s going for chicken anyway.

Excellent food and nice customer service for a Chinese restaurant. I’ve been here three times, and have had the fried flounder, salt & pepper pork spareribs, honey walnut shrimp, roasted duck, and wonton soup. Fried food is perfectly crispy and never too greasy or over salted. Restaurant seems to always be brightly lit and clean.

This restaurant had been renovated but when I was there last week it was dirty. Okay I’m a clean fanatic but when you’re eating at a restaurant don’t you think about the cleanliness of the restaurant as they are cooking for you in a closed off section in the back where you can’t see them??? We came here and yes we hardly go out to eat at Chinese restaurants because of the high sodium, high fat, etc. I had no choice as I was with my older sister. She had to inquire about some things that was in the planning for the celebration of my Mom’s life. The inquiry was obviously futile. Why didn’t that surprise me? I was adamant about not eating maybe because I had already eaten. So everyone around me did eat but I did order a walnut shrimp entrée to go. My sister’s friend said I wanted to do that as to not share. Well she was right to an extent. LOL No it was because I wasn’t hungry at the time. My sister had their beef chow fun that looked pretty good and she scarfed that all up too. I know you’re lucky I can eat half of that!!! My sister’s friend had wor won ton which looked pretty decent. My BIL had beef noodle soup; kind of like a udon soup. My husband hey they forget his dish! Probably the waiter was confused thinking it was for to go!!! Like mine! Finally my HB got up to ask about his order & it finally came though he took some to go. He got the stew meat beef fun soup. His was pretty good as the meat was very flavorful & he got bok choy in his soup. I love both of that. Just his noodles were so inconvenient as they were chow fun noodles like that’s really hard to pick up with the chopsticks as they fall right off. That’s like obnoxiously annoying. I think my sister knew that. She’s sneaky in that way. LOL. My poor husband got sucked into that quickly. LOL! My walnut shrimp was not bad. And I did offer to everyone there but I took it home to eat later. Will we be back? Only if I had to. It might be another ten years from now. The parking is not convenient there neither. Hopefully you get someone leaving and we happened to when we entered the parking lot. Now that was lucky but we may not be so lucky next time!

This is a restaurant in south Sacramento on Freeport Blvd. that I always visit. The chinese food here is always excellent. The service is good also. They remodeled this restaurant a couple of years ago and it is a pleasant place to dine. They can accommodate even a large party of 10 – 12 people since they have larger tables in the adjoining room. There are many favorite dishes here that I will order. One of them I ordered this day was the Black Bean Sauce Beef Chow Fun. The portions here are always large and you will not leave here feeling hungry. Other favorites are the Pig’s Feet, General Chicken, Black Bean Spare Ribs, Gnow Num(Chinese beef stew), and many Tofu dishes. You can’t go wrong here if you are craving authentic Cantonese chinese food.

Love this place! My family and I have been coming here for years. I’m not a big fan of Chinese food but when we do go for Chinese this is our spot. I introduced it to my girlfriend and now her family loves this place as well. We decided to come tonight for her birthday and we definitely weren’t disappointed. The food is always delicious. Our favorites has to be the Peking pork, salt and pepper chicken, black bean chow fun and the black bean green beans. The price is also very reasonable. I did a family meal for 3 tables for my birthday last year and the bill was only a little over $ 200 for about 6 plates per table. Definitely come try Jade Fountain. You won’t be disappointed!

The food in the photos look fantastic! I just wish I had an opportunity to try it. My friends and I arrived at around 530pm to beat the Saturday night dinner rush. We didn’t have to wait to be seated as most of the tables were empty. We sat down, looked at the menu and put in our order within 5 minutes. Everything was going fantastic! Fast forward 15 minutes. At a Chinese restaurant, typically, the soup is the first dish that comes out. It was a bit unusual that the only thing we had in front of us was tea. Slowly the restaurant began to fill up around us as well as a steady stream of «to-go» folks waiting for their food. I didn’t think too much about it and gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward 15 minutes. No soup. No appetizers. No dishes. No word from the waitress. Just tea. At this point, my table and the surrounding tables are getting antsy. Our neighbors flagged down the waitress to ask what the delay was. The waitress explained that there was a large party ahead of us. I completely understand kitchens getting busy. What I found problematic was the fact that none of our tables had a single plate in front of us. Fast forward 15 minutes. The«to-go» people are getting antsy, especially the ones that called ahead of time. My neighbors are getting drunk on tea and my table is getting hangry. I walk up to the front table to ask for a timeline on when we would get our first dish. The hostess and waitress both shrugged and said they’re powerless because the chefs on the back control how and when food comes out. My table set a 6:30pm deadline, if we don’t get a single dish… We bounce. Fast forward to 1hr since we first ordered(6:30pm). Nothing. I ask the waitress if they have a timeline since the last time I asked. She still couldn’t give any update. We politely tell the waitress to cancel our order and leave. I’ve been next door to Hong Kong Wok and their lines are twice as long but we never have any trouble getting our food in a reasonable time. I subsequently drove to Macau Café and had an amazing dinner with excellent service and in a fraction of the time.

Ever since the remodel, the vibe has skyrocketed like crazy. I used to go there all the time as a child and I still do. The place is much cleaner and nicer, and the employees are very friendly as well. My family loves coming here for the congee«juk» because it is probably one of the best ones in Sacramento.

One of the best places to get beef stew noodle soups or beef stew chow fun! Their beef stew is always on point and they give you a pretty decent amount of meat with your noodles especially with that cheap price your paying for. Their wonton noodle are also really good to, juicy plumped wontons perfect for a cold day. Their porridges are also really good. Never dined in, only did yogis but the waiters/waitresses seem pretty nice when I go to pick up my food. Overall there beef stew is amazing.

Jade Fountain is a reliable place to get a bowl of jook(rice porridge) or a plate of dry-style beef stew chow fun. They do these dishes very well. It’s also a good place to get a family-style menu dinner with some fiends or family. The food is good and they have pretty good prices.

I’ve actually remembered Jade Fountain Café for a long time when my parents and I were dining in here for the past 2 decades. Right now, as of today on 10/13/2015, I finally revisited. As I entered, the concept and interior has been redesigned perfectly by making this place a great contemporary dining vibe. The old 1950s to 1960s dining era décor was totally gone to make way for the new generations of the early 21st Century dining. The tables are new, maintained and clean as well their chairs too. Their new checkout service is outstanding which it will allow to make credit/debit card purchases for the first time. The service is doing a fine job here for making the customers like me a great friendly atmosphere. No cons at all. For the entrée, I ordered Black Bean Chicken over steamed white rice plate. Once I ate it, it tasted not that bad! The chicken is fully cooked perfectly as well as their bell peppers too. The black bean sauce is good although it gets too salty for me. I’m sure this plate needs to reduce the salt content in the future. Otherwise, it’s a good, fine brunch meal. The parking can be difficult to park. You can park it at the strip mall’s mini parking lot where Jade Fountain Café is. Additionally, you can also park at the surface street parking too. In some cases if it gets packed, you can ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. In the end, Jade Fountain Café is the most incredible Chinese restaurant right here at South Land Park neighborhood. Perfect for friends/family gatherings. My rating: 4 solid stars.

Love this place. I used to come here with my Grandma. Free parking, no wait, good deals on food. It was everything we needed. This place is always filled with families. Sundays are the day for big Family Dinners. Recently they remodeled the place. Updated the furniture, tore down a wall or two, and updated the style of the restaurant. The food remains the same good home cooked meals. They have great deals on combo meals. The restaurant is located in a shopping center. I used to get my hair cut next door. It was recently sold and my gal moved on. There is another hopping Chinese restaurant next door, but it services a different type of food. I love this place and will keep coming back.

After further reflection, I docked 1 additional star off this place(From 3 To 2). The service is good although not great. Although food is affordable, it can be hit or miss. The combination plates we ordered were no good – just oily and bland. :(I definitely wouldn’t order them again. Also, a huge con is that they use MSG for their Salt & Pepper spareribs :( However, on a brighter note… their soups tend to be consistently good. As for parking, it is nearby but the lot is very tight and limited. Also, the energy/atmosphere is kind of low. The last few times I went, they weren’t very busy or packed. And fyi, it’s mainly older folks or families that dine here. ;) If you are anti-MSG, then avoid this place or at least avoid ordering the Salt & Pepper spareribs. However, their soups are phenomenal so if you’re curious, I would recommend at least trying them(e.g. egg Flower soup) but I definitely would not suggest coming out of your way to dine here. P. S. unwrapped fortune cookies provided as complimentary, but I avoid it b/c it’s likely unsanitary :(

Quality comfort food. I love this place. Having come here since I was a little girl and seeing it’s changes throughout the years makes this place special for me because I feel like I’ve grown with it. Prices have been going up lately, but they’re still really good for the quality and portion of food I love their beef brisket ho fun with soup; a perfect pick me up on a day you’re feeling off. Their jook is also really good. Can’t go wrong here!

After waiting 40 minutes and receiving NO food at Happy Corner my father and I decided to try Jade Fountain. I was hesitant at first because Jade Fountain had always been a Cash Only establishment. As I approached the door I noticed that they now take Visa/Mastercard. I believe they changed ownership as I heard the owners had purchased New Lai Wah down the street a few years ago. Regardless those of us who hate to carry cash are now welcome here :) The menu seemed sort of limited compared to Happy Corner and prices were about $ 1.50 higher as well compared to the Lunch Special Menu at HC. My father ordered Su Gow which is basically won ton soup with jumbo size won ton. His soup came very fast and had some baby bok choy on top. The Su Gow were double the size of a normal won ton, plump and juicy. There were about 8 Su Gow in the order which cost about $ 7.50. I ordered the Beef Stew Chow Fun which is called gnow nom chow fun in Chinese. The plate was sort of small but it was piled with beef stew, bok choy and flat rice noodles. I call Chinese chow fun noodles Chinese lasagna noodles. Since my order came sort of late, I had a few bites and then boxed it up togo. After taking my dad home I dug into my noodles and it actually tasted better because the noodles had absorbed the flavor of the beef stew! My father also ordered bitter melon with chicken togo which looked good as well. Jade Fountain has always been known for having good noodle dishes and I will be back to try some of their Hong Kong style noodles soon. Overall Jade Fountain is a typical Chinese comfort food joint with mismatched décor, shaky service and good food.

Mediocre Chinese food. The owner re-modeled the place so it looks a lot nicer ANDCLEANER than what it was before. They cut down on portion sizes, didn’t improve on the overall quality of their food, and raised prices to stay competitive with Hong Kong Wok… No bueno! I used to come here because their portion sizes were HUGE, Jenny was their star waitress, and food came out in less than five minutes! Now, portions are small, Jenny abandoned Jade to become a blackjack dealer at Thunder Valley, and, while the food still comes out lightening fast, it isn’t worth the price. If I’m going to pay $ 7 for chow mein. I’d rather walk those extra five steps to Hong Kong Wok and invest in some GOOD chow mein! Jade Fountain has potential since a lot of regulars frequent this place… But they really need to step up their food game!
