Freeport Bakery was one of the many hotspots when I was a student at CKM. I remember their croissants being my breakfast on many occasions. The croissants are super flaky and buttery — seriously amazing! On my most recent visit, I purchased several pastries: 1. Sesame Pragel & Poppyseed Pragel($ 2.45 each): A cross between a pretzel and a bagel — both had a dill herb cream cheese, which was different, but tasty. These are definitely an easy on the go snack. I love pretzels and bagels, so I enjoyed my pragels. 2. Grandma’s Cupcake($ 1.95): I usually prefer vanilla cake with vanilla frosting, but they only had chocolate frosting. The cake itself was delicious. It was a buttermilk flavor, and it was perfection. The icing tasted like it came out of a can, but that’s not a huge deal to me. 3. Mini Fruit Tart($ 5.95): Super pricey for a little fruit tart, but OMG. This is the best fruit tart I’ve ever had. Their crust is a thicker crust that was reminiscent of shortbread, which I love. I already told everyone that I want a whole fruit tart cake for my birthday! After all these years, Freeport Bakery is still producing great pastries. The customer service was great as well. Can’t wait for my whole fruit tart to myself! ;)
